    I noticed a difference in pigmentation and tissue VIGOR within hours of initiating UV A (AC Infinity U4) early flower on two subjects. Extremely experienced biocultivator in numerous spheres. Upon Stress testing w the UV A I was able to singe back pistils on both subjects at around 2-3 weeks in. So it definitely burns, but I left on for an extended period (stress test), proper distance, level 5 out of 10, it was able to burn the sensitive tissue mildly and cause a clear and obvious increase in vigor. Take a look at plants in your park in the full sun then take a look at the ones struggling in some shaded area. There you go. it didnt take a pile of NASA grants to deduce that...

      Bought the same a few days ago. Have an SF2000 & SF1000 in a 120x60 so going to run them length left to right one at the back the other at the front tilted in slightly. I’ll start off at 1hr per day mid light cycle. My current girls are week 7 autos with a 20 Hr light on 4 off. This is the first low THC production batch I’ve had, so this will be a good test to see if there’s any noticeable improvement after adding it. I’m assuming it’s strain/Genetics related. RQS Do-Si-Dos is the strain.

I've studied the actual science of spectrums of light on plant growth and tried UV/IR, but knock yourself out with anecdotal experiences. They're beneficial in very specific situations for very specific lengths of time.. the vast majority of people run them all the time and they're actually a detriment to the plant at that point... Also, the benefits aren't worth the money unless you're trying to absolutely max out, running perfectly efficient with CO2 - which isn't happening with +99% of horticulturists.

    UVA doesn't increase cannabinoid production or photosynthetic activity and it is less efficient at reducing stem elongation than blue light. Okay. So what about terpene production? Isn't improving taste and smell sufficient reason to use UVA? . Shane failed to get Dr. Bugbee to address this question. It's premature to say that it is not worth adding UVA.

    Might not does really do anything for cannabis, but for chillies I´m sure their spicelevel depents on UV afterall Bhut Jolokia taken from India grown in Italy got up to 1.6mio. scuville (in India up to 1.2mio) and Scropio who´s growing them in the californian sun gets up to 2.2mio scuville. Seems like UV intensety does effect chilli plants, growing altitude in California and India could be similar.

      Perhaps the added UV spectrum might have a somewhat sterilizing effect on molds (both inside the buds as well as on the leaves such as with powdery mildew) much as how UVC spectrum is used to sterilize certain environments and water. I suspect UVB would have a more striking effect on this than UVA. I can be under a 450 watt mixjoy led panel with added UVA diodes all day with zero visible effects, both on me and probably zero for the plants as well (granted we're talking only a couple jenky diodes) or 3 feet away from a mostly UVB "pure UV" Agromax 24 inch T5 bulb for literally 3 minutes and have a noticeable sunburn later that day.

      @MrMCKlebeband 2 місяці тому

      in theory it potentially could, yes.
      most things that cause stress in our plants have a small chance to cause herms.
      basically if you stress the plant too much, it will respond "harsh enviroment? lets rush reproduction by any and all means"
      so, introducing UV later in the plants cycle maybe too steeply, too quickly, would risk herms more than if you introduced the plant at seedling stage.
      i would recomment NOT to introduce it during flowering. allthough, if done correctly it probably will not result in herms 9/10 times, also, genetic factors, some strains will herm easier than others.
