I just saw this comment. The base coat/primer paint is a gray flat Valspar paint. It is just regular house paint. So sorry that I am just seeing your comment. Thank you, Cathryn
if ever there should be a person on HGTV...it's this woman. I'm hanging on your every word and commenting before the video is even finish because I know it's going to be a beauty once you finish it. Yep I was right STUNNING.
Great job! I have several pieces of spray painted furniture, silver always. The piece everyone falls in love with is a Tommy Bahama coffee table. Poor thing never got a compliment. Now tgat it's painted a super shiny metallic silver every person that sees it loves it. The entire room could have nothing but the table because it steals the show. TFS
THIS is my ABSOLUTE Favorite!!!!! Turned out so Beautifully!!!!! And YES, Home Goods is THE place for Crystal Hardware! I bought a few boxes for my projects (to come)! Love, Love, Love!!!
Thank God you're doing well! This is a beautiful project! You just gave me some inspiration on some furniture I was going to get rid of. Thank you, and blessings abundantly!
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! YOU DID AN AMAAAAAZING JOB! Thanks for sharing and having this collaboration especially for NEW UA-camrs like myself. Have a blessed day🙏🏼
You put in a lot of work but at the end, it was all worth the effort. I am in love the blue and white pieces added with the finish results because it looks like a brand new piece of furniture. You have done well, excellent work. Thank you for being our inspiration.
I love your cabinet transformation, it's simply gorgeous; And by you using your blue and white accessories made such a big impact! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work.
The Cabinet is gorgeous! You took your time and did it right 🤗 I enjoyed listening to explain the details of the project. You're so through like a fun teacher. Tfs💗
I love the cabinet and really like the blue and white porcelain that you put inside. I had a professional painter tell me to use automotive spray paint as a base coat. We had our master bedroom closet and bathroom completely redone. I had a sliding wood door, on a track, installed but, it needed to be painted. That's when the contractor told me about the automotive spray paint. I took the door outside to spray and once dry, I finished it in our garage with a brush. It looks great! I enjoy learning how creative you are and economical too. Always enjoy your videos.
Okay, you are a girl after my own heart! I LOVE furniture makeovers! Great job! I did not know you can add wax over spray paint! Brilliant! New Subscriber!
This is a very beautiful piece to begin with but once you finished with it I thought it was absolutely gorgeous! I'm pretty good with crafting but not sure about something like this. I have my Mothers curio that I would like to redo but scared that I won't get the correct items I need and will ruin it then I would be heartsick as my mother has passed but I love the pulls and tassle to compliment your beautiful blue and white decor!! TY much for sharing. You should be very proud
This is a great video. It has everything for a project I want to do -- spray painting furniture, adding furniture legs (removing the screw and gluing!!), and ironing out warped wood. Great information. 5 stars :-)
Nice effect! I really enjoy all of your tutorials. Regarding the legs, couldn’t you just drill and add dowel as an alternative to the screw and adhesive-only? I am super-impressed by how you leveraged the door!
I have learned so much from You! Those Lilly and Leah cabinet handle nobs were just what I have been looking for to redo a dresser! We don't have a Home Goods here but by knowing the name I found them on line!! Thank You!
So beautiful! Especially for an outdated curio cabinet, which I happen to have. That tip of wiping down and buffing after each coat is very helpful, and the dark wax really made it look professional. Thank you! New sub. 😊
OMG, i was just thinking about that type of paint to do my bedroom end tables when I find the ones i,m looking for at the Thrift store. Everyone is doing the glass bedroom tables, you did a fabulous job and I love the knobs you chose. Love the set and glad your well and welcome back..
OMG thank you for this wonderful idea. I have a similar piece I didn’t know what to do with it but now thanks to you and this vídeo I can give it new life so I can love that piece of furniture again!!!
Looks lovely! I had 3 uprecycling when I was pregnant.. Sourced suitable products for safety of my unborn... It was so relaxing.. bedframes and a cabinet... Yours is so nice.. I have a cabinet to do..may use spray paint this time...looks so much quicker!
That is stunning! I love it. You just gave me an idea for the perfect way to display some of my blue and white pieces. That whole ensemble would fit in my decor perfectly!
Cathryn I simply love it!! I just purchased a wooden cabinet from Goodwill yesterday and I knew that I wanted to paint it silver. I will definitely be using your technique to refinish it. I wasn't lucky enough to find one with glass but it'll will work for now. Thanks for this video and I'll be giving you a shout out when I record the video :)
Awesome! I have another cabinet to do. I need it in my dining room. Let me know when you are doing your project and I will do a shout out as well. People are always donating or throwing these items away. Stay amazing!Cathryn
Thank you Cathryn, I sure will. I can't wait to get started. I need to add legs to mine as well. It cost me less than $17 dollars!! I'm hoping that I still have legs in my garage that I had been holding on to lol. I saw those Beautiful knobs that you have in Marshalls. I already have some round glass ones so I'll see if they work out first. I've found some amazing things at the Goodwill and other second hand shops. Including 2 genuine Louis Vuitton purses!! lol. I'll be sure to let you know when I'm ready to upload mine. One question.. Does the wax really help and where can I find it? Thanks ahead of time
Love the look! I have a pair of bookcases that no longer match my newer decor. I am so pleased to use this idea to update them instead of tossing them. Thank you for your creativity and may God continue to richly bless you with your gift!!
Right on time! my bedroom furniture I painted about a year ago gray. I’m bored with it. So I’m going to try the metallic paint and look for the knobs this week.
First of all you did a great job! It turend out amazing! And Second, I just want to say that listning to your voice is kind of relaxing! Keep up the good work♡
FABULOUS!!! Love it & you’re blue & white pieces( I own a lot of blue and white pieces as well ) I have for years and I never tire of it. You’re so very talent! Thank you for sharing, May God Bless & Keep You and Yours🙏
I’m so glad to see you back here! It’s been a while I hope everything is great with you! You did such an awesome job! 👍 You inspired me to work on a desk table that I have in my guest bedroom. Thank you so much for sharing! I adore your voice!!! 💕
Cathryn, I just watched one of your vids for the first time and was so impressed with your work! The silver cabinet is fantastic! Just subscribed and looking forward to watching more! Thanks!
This is beautiful. Thank you for this video, I have an old China cabinet that I want to redo but couldn't figure out what or how to do it. Now I know thanks
So glad I found this video! You are a genius with this stuff. I'm doing this to my antique bedroom set. I started with the stool of my vanity, but couldn't figure out how to get that slightly yellowed look so that my silver isn't white, bright silver. I couldn't really tell how the brown wax changed the tone on your piece, but I assume it did. I have Martha Stewart silver metallic paint that seemed to work fine with two coats, but I'm thinking I should use a base paint or just go with an oil paint for the big pieces. Thanks for taking us through your project. It's absolutely beautiful!! :)
