Awesome, thanks for that Tony. The reels are great and the rods look equally high quality! I give updates over the season!

Thanks for the recommendation. I would actually love to see an entire series on rods and reels ranging from budget buys to the highest end gear setups

Good idea, we have enough from both ends of the spectrum to probably cover that topic. Appreciate you watching!

Great video Glen, Okuma has been in the business for a while, I have never used one but never heard anything bad about them. The pricing point is nice. Keep up the great work.

Thx Mitch, we've had nothing but good luck with their reels and I'm sure the rods will hold up just fine as well. With so many options in the market, I thought as least highlighting them would help others become aware of them.

The Okuma EVX in XXH was my first rod, if anyones considering the EVX I'd just put a warning out there, if you're looking for a light rod this thing is a tank and weighs a ton (hand hurts after about 3-4 hours of shore fishing) but on the bright side this rod can handle a lot of time on the water and any musky that decides to hook up on your rod.

Interesting, I'm my hands it didn't feel overly heavy. Maybe I'll get it on the scale next to a St Croix, chaos and thorne bros rods I have in the cave. Thx for watching!

Just some options for folks. You are running what is arguably the number one choice in budget reels at the moment. And by all accounts they hold up well. Interested to see if they are still around in 2-4 years, or if the competition just buys them out.
      Thx for watching!

You want for that price a Daiwa Lexa LX-HD400HS-P and get a shimano musky sojourn rod for like 69 cad ,telescopic too.

Great choices. 400 sized reels can be a bit much for a beginner or even occasional angler to handle. Appreciate the suggestion. Thanks for watching!

I was pretty open about being sponsored by Okuma, and offering an option that would fit a budget most could afford. Thx for watching!

@54orbust you did. Now if you dig deeper, you will find out most of the rods are made with the same recipe, and in the same factory. The solstice is by far the cheapest that will get the job done. And these low profile reals are all basically the same. I am a stickler for Abu. For under $100 they make these others seem inflated priced oak trees in your hands.

@@approachingtarget.4503 this might be a good topic for an off season video.
I know the behind the scenes of where most of the rod blanks are built. And I know name makes up a lot of the cost of rods and reels. It would be eye opening to many to see the world behind the retail stores.
