Omg yes!!!! I went to six flags and it’s just a bunch of lame large open areas with zero theme. Just boring all around despite good rides. Tells you a lot when they technically have better coasters but the parks suck. That’s literally only because of theming

I just got home yesterday from 3 days at Universal. I was sooo lucky the velocicoaster was running. Rode it 4 times. 3 in front seat, once in last seat. Omg!!! Now we have two of the greatest story-driven coasters out there, and both by one of the most innovative manufacturers right now. Intamin keeps topping themselves with their Blitz coaster model, and Idk how they're able to be so creative with each Blitz coaster layout. But Intamin being Intamin, they've succeeded~~
I agree, but just to be annoying I have to point out that this isn't really Universal giving Intamin a second chance since Velocicoaster was already in the works for a while by the time that Hagrid's opened
They lost two coasters when they closed Dragon Challenge…they needed to add two to get the capacity back. Hagrids was amazing…and Velocicoaster is phenomenal. They have a great 1-2-3 coaster punch in that park now.
I rode this coaster yesterday(11/25/24). I have not ridden 750 roller coasters as the narrator has, but out of all the ones I have ridden, it takes the number one spot on my list easily. The second boost literally blows your mind. As if you’re not already going fast before hitting it, you think, “Oh my God!!” Greatest thrill I’ve experienced on a roller coaster.
Rode this 8 times on my last trip. Definitely my favorite coaster now. Front row is insane for viewing the raptors and the boosts. Back row is insane because you get YANKED out of your seat going over the top hat. 10/10
I cannot get enough of this ride. Last year I had an annual pass to Universal and even though I live two hours away, I still made it down there about ten times solely for this coaster. Probably rode it 30+ times. My best friend rode it 50 times. It doesn't get old. I have a son who currently stands 49" tall. I have promised him the day he is 51" tall, we are driving to Orlando so he can experience it. Also, after riding it 20+ times... One time as we approached the Mosasaurus roll, someone in the back of the train screamed "Look up!" I looked up, which means as I was upside down in the roll, I was staring into the lake, which was terrifying because it's so close. I still can't get over how the Mosasaurus roll feels like it is trying to fling you outta the train into the water. It always evokes a different kind of scream from the riders.
As a big Jurassic World fan, this was a dream come true to experience. When I heard rumors back in 2019 that a Jurassic world themed coaster was coming to Island of Adventures. I waited every single day until I could finally ride it a few weeks ago. This ride is insane from start to finish and is definitely the best coaster I have been on.
The more I ride this thing, the more I love it. To add on your note, the queue moves FAST! Yesterday the line had reached the extended queue with a wait time of "60 minutes", but it only took around 25 minutes to reach the station. I also found that the regular standby actually moved faster or was about the same wait time as the single rider queue. The regular queue also felt quicker due to the constant flow and scenery. Lastly, while I usually prefer the back row, this is a front row experience for me! BRAVO to both Universal and Intamin!
literally the best roller coaster ever. period. i rode this at night with my little brother front row and that was literally the happiest moment of my life. i felt so ridiculously high.
This is probably one of the most obvious coasters he gave a perfect 10 to, that he didn’t even need to say it at all in this video. Also without a doubt, this is the most in-depth review in this channel! Great video, and I hope to ride Velocicoaster someday soon.
Thanks again for taking the time to stop and talk to my wife and I while you were filming on Wednesday’s AP preview! The coaster is unbelievable. If you get the rare re-launch from the tunnel it’s unreal! I got to experience it on Saturday’s “technical rehearsal” and that backwards launch back into the boost tunnel is crazy! Hope you get that chance someday!
I've been at Universal almost every day since my passholder preview just to marathon Velocicoaster for the technical rehearsals. Every time I ride it I come off wanting to do it one more time. Universal absolutely blew it out of the water with this ride and I think Disney will be feeling those effects come summer time. Also, glad I got to meet you and Dan during one of the days I was there. The updates that you guys made for this ride made me super hyped to ride it and obviously the ride did not disappoint. Great vid Taylor
Rode this for the first time today. It was utterly amazing. I literally walked out of this ride when it was over totally blown away. Had to sit for an hour afterwards to be able to absorb mentally and physically what I just experienced.
Finally got a ride on it today, and oh my god, i have never felt more like a coaster is trying to throw me from the train more than this ride. Absolutely amazing ride. Got row 8, and my god, coming over that top hat i was off my seat and my torso was going down faster than the train it felt, good stuff. Makes the hulk feel like a kiddy coaster.
The ride was so beautiful and mesmerizing to look at in the day and night. The second half of the ride is a great crowd interaction as well which people don’t talk about to often from the top hat, the zero g stall, and the outer bank turn. Seeing the riders zip by you in multiple ways is honestly brilliant.
Just got back to the uk from 2 weeks in Orlando and this is far and away the best rollercoaster I have ever been on. Managed to get on it 8 times and it gets better every time. It’s so much fun from the launches, the stalled inversions, the drop from the top hat and the insane mosasaurus roll that tries to throw you out of your seat. Anyone who likes rollercoasters has to ride this, it will have you smiling for days afterwards.
The ride looks incredible!! Relentless, long and full of crazy-looking elements. On my bucketlist for sure! A night ride is probably out of this world. Intamin is clearly a front-runner for coaster development. We need one in CA please!
After riding it, I was extremely curious at your review. This was "only" my 224th individual coaster I've ridden, but it's definitely in my top 5!! Great work Taylor.
I can absolutely say this was one of the best coasters I’ve ever been on. Went to Universal last week to ride both Hagrid’s Motorbike and Velocicoaster for the first time, and they both have skyrocketed to my top 5 list. Velocicoaster was not predictable to me at any point and was such an adrenaline rush, I was screaming literally the whole time. It also really helped that there were so many inversions and there was nothing but the small lap restraint to keep you in-no shoulder restraints so it didn’t limit your view. 10/10!!!
I’m 48 years old and have been on so many roller coasters… I have been looking for a coaster to scare me for years, this one TERRIFIED me!!! Had to ride twice, even though I was shaking in line the second time! By far the best coaster I’ve ever experienced!
From your explanation of the mosasaurus roll it sounds like the closest thing we can get to Maverick's removed heartline roll. Sounds absolutely crazy.
Just got back from it. As someone who has been on many coasters, I can say for sure that this is the greatest roller coaster I have ever been on. It is INTENSE! But smooth as butter. It is worth every second of wait time and you will never forget the first time you rode it.
man, i loved the ending of the ride. the mosasaurs roll topped it off with that sharp turn. i looked around and everyone had smiles on their faces. even though i only rode it once, i want to return and ride it many more times. the queue, the launch, the drops, the inversions, the speed and the icy smooth traction really made this ride probably my favorite.
This was the very first roller coaster I have ever ridden and it was incredible! I sat in the back and the sheer speed and air time you feel coming over the top hat is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Im officially hooked
Just rode it today! went front row and was sooo worth the 45 min wait and the extra time for front row. Best rollercoaster I've ridden! My family got the opportunity to get a 2nd time on it after talking with one of the ride operators and expressing our love and enjoyment on this ride! Very pleased with how Universal did this ride and the ride operators that handle it on the day to day. Lockers were a unique experience by itself and think it would help speed up other rides if they did this method instead of the lockers outside the attraction.
Universal Orlando resort is going to become the next cedar point in the next few years if they are keeping up adding these kinds of attractions to their lineup.
By far the best rollercoaster I've been on. I went to Universal last september (2022) and I ended up riding this ride 16 times in 4 days (14 times front row, 1 times in the middle of the train and 1 times in the back). You are right! Everything is just perfect on this ride. Can't wait ro go back there and ride VelociCoaster again!!
Don't usually comment on these but this ride deserves it. The ride has been open for a soft opening for the past two weeks, went last week and rode it a decent amount of times, and all I can say that this may be the best ride in not just Orlando but maybe in the country. Was blown away.
I got to ride twice yesterday, my god. I’m not even salty Dueling Dragons isn’t around anymore. IOA is seriously the most complete and impressive theme park I’ve ever been too, all I can say it bulldoze over Lost Continent for the Legend of Zelda.
I’m about the least experienced person here, but this was my first big time, consensus top 10 ride. I got a second to back row night ride with plenty of room, and it was the best experience I’ve ever had on any ride. I love this thing and agree with absolutely everything.
Rode this twice on June 11- easily 1 of the best coasters I've ridden- no slow down, lots of turns and twists, awesome midcourse tophat and my favorite part is the barrel roll over water towards the end!
Just rode this twice in November ‘21. I must say there isnt a single dull moment on this coaster. And it is LONG. Literally feels like the ride just goes on and on forever. If you haven’t yet, plan a trip to ride this.
We were in Universal last week, got to the park at 7:15 hoping to get on Hagrids which was already a 2 hour wait. My daughter and I made the decision to hop on Velocicoaster instead since it was only 15 minute wait! Best decision ever! The sun was just rising at the peak of the top hat so we had a beautiful view and an incredible ride! Everyone was cheering and laughing and out of breath at the end. Thankfully rode it a few more times later in the week and even my wife and son walked through the amazing queue just to see the raptors. Hands down, best Rollercoaster I've ever ridden!
I was finally able to ride this coaster yesterday. OMG it threw Fury 325 to second place. I rode it 6 times in 1 day up until the last call. This is the greatest coaster Intamin has ever built in my opinion
My 7 year old bro rode this and he loved it, I was in shock cause he’s so scared of rollercoasters and the fact that he rode THIS ride and he loved it shows how awesome this ride truly is.
Ever since I moved from a certain island in the Carribean to Orlando I’ve been waiting for the perfect day to treat myself with a ride on this beast and boy was the wait absolutely WORTH IT. I got back row first time and holy crap.
@fioon kilfeather, I’m a teen, I can’t drive and even if I could, I couldn’t drive for 12 hrs, also COVID-19 reasons along with I went there right before quarantine started
Just rode it today and was blown away, and believe me I had high expectations going in. This coaster is the sole reason I bought a season pass a few months ago and I can tell you I feel like I will easily get my money's worth of sheer thrill and entertainment. I giggled like a little kid from start to finish I had that much fun. 😁
This was amazing. Coming from someone who doesn’t like roller coasters that much, I did this ride three times in a row. It was so incredibly fun, and I screamed the whole time every time.
100% agree. Big time coaster rider, great review. Got 7 rides over 3 days, amazing how amazing it is by looking at it as a whole. The roll over the water right side front is absolutely top. When it works it works, no stopping and no break runs and smooth.
Best rolercoaster I have ridden in my life! At first I was extremely intimidated by that MASSIVE drop but I forced my self to go on it with my mom and I loved it so much I even got a Velocicoaster SHIRT and where it nonstop!
Just rode it today!!! I am an annual pass holder but never got the email for previews ☹️ so planned it after work today and everything worked out perfectly. My GF and I waited about 55 minutes or so and like Taylor said, you are totally immersed in the queue from beginning to end, so the wait didn’t feel nearly that long. The locker system is absolutely brilliant and keeps everyone moving in one direction as opposed to crossing over one another as can be witnessed at the Hulk. The ride, I don’t even know what to say! It was breathtaking, maybe as a huge Jurassic Park/World fan I am being biased, but the whole package delivers in a big way! Taylor’s assessment is spot on, as usual!! I can’t wait to get back to IOA this week and get on it again!!!
I'm hoping the guardians coaster at epcot ends up just as good as this, it really has the potential to considering just how big it is and the new ride system. I really hope themed thrill coasters become the norm, and I think guardians being good would cement that.
I know this is a year old and I actually rode this coaster about a dozen times along with Hagrids when we went last September. It was the first time I’ve ever been to universal and Darien lake is my home park but we frequent cedar point twice a year. I never realized what a theme can do for a ride or a park over all. Completely blown away by this coaster and my wife and I couldn’t pick between Hagrids or this being the best ride we’ve ever ridden. Both are very different and out of this world. Velocicoaster is hands down my favorite coaster but I tip my favorite ride to Hagrids.
Rode this for the first time yesterday. This coaster lived up to the hype. I usually laugh during roller coaster rides…… no laughing. Screams, screams, and more screams is what they got from me. The amount of upside down time is insane. The top hat climb and fss add lol was ridiculous! Best coaster I’ve been on in years if not ever!
I rode this for the first time a few weeks ago without ever watching videos or even really looking at people riding it. I wanted to go in blind, and let me tell ya... I was expecting the 2nd boost to be a brake, and when we accelerated, I screamed "oh my fu*king god" in pure terror and lost my voice. The barrel roll over the water at the end, was absolute insanity. We pulled back into the station, and I was in this state of delirium and shock that I'll never forget. I'm not a coaster guy, and don't visit too many amusement parks. But this was the best ride I've ever been on.
And it has two of the world's best dark rides (Spiderman and Forbidden Journey) IOA is a real contender for the world's best theme park... it's the full package
@@williambrown8249 and leaves its Sister park in the dust. I used to be able to say both parks are great and could not say one was much better than the other, and then in a 3 year period they drop Hagrids and Vilocicoaster in I.O.A. and only add born stuntacular to studios. The parks are now unbalanced big time. That's even with Studios having the better Harry Potter experience (yes it has less rides in Diagon Alley, but as a Harry Potter fan I find the overall feel to more Immersive. I'm sure a part of that is that one you enter, you can't see anything but the Harry Potter Area too.)
@@canyon50 The Harry Potter section at Studios is the best themed area I've ever been to so it still has that going for it. Also love The Simpsons area for the nostalgia. Revenge of the Mummy still slaps. Other than that yea its far inferior to Islands.
I Rode it 5 Times yesterday and lost my from screaming then literally came back today just to ride 2 more times. I can not get enough of this ride it is Amazing.
What surprised me the most when riding this was that the POVs didn't make it look that good, I honestly thought it was just going to be a worse version of Maverick, but when I road this I was awestruck and I can definitely say this is MUCH better than Maverick and this is probably a Top 10 for me, maybe even a Top 5. The thing that got me the most was I was not expecting the force it was going to give, the POVs made it look not that forceful, so to be surprised like this really made the ride that much better. And of the 4 rides I got on this (2 front and 2 back) I have to say the front is better just because of the scenery, and the longer hangtime. Although, the back is just as good, the launches felt more sustained and forceful in the back which felt amazing. All in all, this is one heck of a ride!
I paused the video, drove to busch, and stopped at Universal on the way back and went on velocicoaster to avoid the spoiler. This ride is intense but still smooth. My first ride was at night, and he's not kidding. You fly through this thing, its nonstop action. In that sense, it kind of reminds me of Kingda ka, except a minute longer. The rolls, the inversions, the swift movements, it's all incredibly well done. Easily the best ride in that park which is saying a lot. As a bonus, it made the lines on hagrid and hulk significantly shorter.

The most intense coaster I have ever been on. And the fact that it is so smooth makes it thoroughly enjoyable from the queue to the finish.
This set the bar extremely high for Universal’s Epic Universe hub coaster!
That's the best think I've ever read
I’m 48 years old and have been on so many roller coasters… I have been looking for a coaster to scare me for years, this one TERRIFIED me!!! Had to ride twice, even though I was shaking in line the second time! By far the best coaster I’ve ever experienced!
Can you make a top 10 rides at Universal Orlando? It would be interesting to see how you compare thrilling coasters and elaborate dark rides.
Rix Flix a UA-camr that mainly covers all of the Orlando theme parks especially Disney and Universal has a top 10 rides list. Check it out.
@@ryancarter2537 thanks for the recommendation.
From your explanation of the mosasaurus roll it sounds like the closest thing we can get to Maverick's removed heartline roll. Sounds absolutely crazy.
I just got on this coaster today, lucky enough to get back row, I was scared shitless. I went off pumped! It was amazing from start to finish
Best Quote of the day: “It should be ILLEGAL to give this ride anything less than a 10 out of 10!” As a lawyer, I loved that!😜👍🏽👩🏽⚖️🎢🦖🥰
Wtf lol
Just got back from it. As someone who has been on many coasters, I can say for sure that this is the greatest roller coaster I have ever been on. It is INTENSE! But smooth as butter. It is worth every second of wait time and you will never forget the first time you rode it.
I rode this ride twice while on a school trip (which was my first roller coaster btw) and this is the best ride that I have ever been on.
I knew you’d give a 10! It looks fantastic and now I wish I had a season pass. Your review was very helpful.
man, i loved the ending of the ride. the mosasaurs roll topped it off with that sharp turn. i looked around and everyone had smiles on their faces. even though i only rode it once, i want to return and ride it many more times. the queue, the launch, the drops, the inversions, the speed and the icy smooth traction really made this ride probably my favorite.
If this top hat is as insane as u say, I’m pretty sure pantheons will be the best airtime moment ever
Pantheon’s outer banked airtime hill is going to be absolutely legendary.
@@slaughteredwolf People love Kondaa's Outerbank, they are pretty darn similar.
This was the very first roller coaster I have ever ridden and it was incredible! I sat in the back and the sheer speed and air time you feel coming over the top hat is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Im officially hooked
I love the path tiles in the plaza. it's a small detail but most parks cheap out on pathways. **cough la ronde cough**
And that’s not including the third theme park they have coming twice the size of the 2 they already have in existence🚀🎢🎡
@@Leander302 What's the third?
@@NZIGNANTI Epic Universe
By far the best rollercoaster I've been on. I went to Universal last september (2022) and I ended up riding this ride 16 times in 4 days (14 times front row, 1 times in the middle of the train and 1 times in the back). You are right! Everything is just perfect on this ride. Can't wait ro go back there and ride VelociCoaster again!!
I’ve been waiting for this review for forever now! Thank you so much!
This tops the bucket list, very, very easily
Rode this twice on June 11- easily 1 of the best coasters I've ridden- no slow down, lots of turns and twists, awesome midcourse tophat and my favorite part is the barrel roll over water towards the end!
As someone having CP as a home park, I think I prefer Hagrid's and Velocicoaster over almost all of what CP has to offer. Yes even SteVe
I’m so glad this lived up to the hype. Cannot WAIT to fly over from England and ride it
Just rode this twice in November ‘21. I must say there isnt a single dull moment on this coaster. And it is LONG. Literally feels like the ride just goes on and on forever. If you haven’t yet, plan a trip to ride this.
Great great review. So glad I got to grab some rides with you
Thanks Austin! Tell Ed that Sarah says hi
Oh, Owen and Clare are the names of the characters? I always called them money lady and animal-loving navy guy.
I was finally able to ride this coaster yesterday. OMG it threw Fury 325 to second place. I rode it 6 times in 1 day up until the last call. This is the greatest coaster Intamin has ever built in my opinion
Oh we already know this video is gonna get an absolute crap ton of views
def
After it being anticipated for 2 years now, you can say that again
I just rode it today and I screamed from start too finish. I have zero complaints. Universal understood the assignment!!!
I love how it beat Tron to having lights on a coaster. They’ll both look so good at night
My 7 year old bro rode this and he loved it, I was in shock cause he’s so scared of rollercoasters and the fact that he rode THIS ride and he loved it shows how awesome this ride truly is.
6:06 why do I want one of those in my living room?
Ever since I moved from a certain island in the Carribean to Orlando I’ve been waiting for the perfect day to treat myself with a ride on this beast and boy was the wait absolutely WORTH IT. I got back row first time and holy crap.
Taylor: already riding stuff before it’s open to the gp
Me: *cries in the corner not being able to go for another year or so because I’m a kid* I’m ok
P.S. the video about Taylor’s flaws and the conversation about how Taylor calls a picture of a roller coaster hot is completely accurate right here
@fioon kilfeather, I’m a teen, I can’t drive and even if I could, I couldn’t drive for 12 hrs, also COVID-19 reasons along with I went there right before quarantine started
I feel like the mosasaurus roll is what the heart line roll on maverick could have been
Right, but I heard the Heartline roll on Maverick was putting a lot of stress on the track I believe that's why it was removed.
@@ArrowThrills that and it was too intense
This was amazing. Coming from someone who doesn’t like roller coasters that much, I did this ride three times in a row. It was so incredibly fun, and I screamed the whole time every time.
Was it scary ? I’m scared of coasters
Me: Look at those cool dinosaurs
Taylor: THE DINOSAUR BOUQUET!
100% agree. Big time coaster rider, great review. Got 7 rides over 3 days, amazing how amazing it is by looking at it as a whole. The roll over the water right side front is absolutely top. When it works it works, no stopping and no break runs and smooth.
"The theme for this ride is that it is a ride"
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit: "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
Best rolercoaster I have ridden in my life! At first I was extremely intimidated by that MASSIVE drop but I forced my self to go on it with my mom and I loved it so much I even got a Velocicoaster SHIRT and where it nonstop!
Finally, clicked as soon as I saw it!
Sameee
I mean like the Guardians coaster layout can be found on Google and in comparison is a joke to velocicoaster
@@garywinthrope1259 yes, no inversions, boring layout, only controlled-spinning cars!
Velocicoaster looks absolutely amazing!
Never clicked faster! We can't wait for this thing
Me last week...now I'm watching vids trying to remember the feeling of first ride (got the past cart by chance and yes it throws you out of your seat)
So according to Mr. Coaster studios himself, Islands of adventure now has 2 10/10 coasters.
And it has two of the world's best dark rides (Spiderman and Forbidden Journey)
IOA is a real contender for the world's best theme park... it's the full package
Seriously this may be the best theme park in Florida now.
@@williambrown8249 Also great water rides and one of the best theme park restaurants (Mythos). Probably the best all around single park.
I bet the Mosasaurus roll is what Maverick's roll would have been had they not removed it.
No. Look at footage from Mavericks roll. That‘s not really a hearline roll and more like an inline twist. That thing was ridiculous!
More like a flip, more like a fast flat spin even !!
I’ve dodged so many spoilers waiting for this video. I don’t even know the layout fully yet😅
Personally, when I saw that final heartline roll, my thought was: the removed heartline from Maverick.
Same 😭
WOW, I don't think I've ever been more hyped for a ride at an amusement park. But after watching this review, I can't for October 15th when me, my wife and grandkids can experience "The VelociCoast" ThankYou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It would have been sick if they built this with RMC Raptor track (ya know, since it's themed to raptors)
Wouldn't be as good since raptors are only single seaters. Maybe a T-Rex..
