As a French people, I'm so glad that we finally have a real elite coaster! Toutatis is my favorite coaster so far, even though I haven't yet ridden BGCE or Taïga, I still prefer it to Taron.
For me it's definitely a front row ride. You feel much stronger airtime up there, especially on the brilliant camelback in the second half. The top hat is slow no matter where you sit so you might as well be somewhere you can appreciate the view!
Toutatis is the God of Thunder to the gaulish celts ... similar to Thor for the vikings , you can even notice the hammer on that toutatis figurines and carvings ... So no wonder that the launch ceremony is a bit like a thunderstorm. Btw ... The theming of the Station resembles a celric grave
Taranis is the Gaulish cognate of Thor, Toutatis means "[God] of the tribe" from the Celtic root: _Toutā_ ("tribe") and/or _Teuto_ ("father"). Toutatis was seen as a war and tutelary deity and was later affiliated with the Roman Mars. Toutatis, Taranis and Esus (woodsman/hunting god) make up a similar divine triad to the one of Oðinn, Thor and Freyr seen at Uppsala. Implying the two share an origin with a lost trio of Proto-Germanic gods. And you are right, the station is themed as a Celtic passage-tomb.
In late august I got a back row night ride on Toutatis and the trim on the drop felt non existent. You got whipped around the entire course, every single element exceeded my expectations and the wave turn felt a lot faster then it did during the day.
I have ridden it 16 times and I can say that this this roller coaster is very dependent on the warm up, the experience at the start of the day and at the end of the evening is really very different, it's almost a second coaster. I read that this was the case with many recent Intamin coasters, probably linked to the temperature of the oil in the wheel bearings.
Hi Taylor, French coaster enthusiast here. AFAIK, the trim on the top hat is intentional: Parc Astérix wanted to create a "is the train going to make it?" moment, or something like that. I haven’t ridden Toutatis (yet). But my theory is that the trains are just too long to actually deliver the kind of sensation they were aiming for. I may be wrong though.
I rode it in august. It was my second favorite coaster of my Europe trip behind ride to happiness. I have it ahead of untamed, Kondaa, expedition GeForce, and Taron from that trip. I also have it ahead of pantheon but behind Velocicoaster. It is solidly in my top 10 and almost in my top 1% of coasters I’ve ridden. The top hat didn’t bother me as much as it did you.
@timothywait9457 they are long because the rides actually don’t suck lmao 🤣 the ops at Parc Astérix are really fast so at least the line is always moving
I think between this and Leviathan at Sea World Australia we might need a list of best roller coaster stations. It's a fantastic way to build up anticipation and I love how much effort they put into it, it looks fantastic.
I wondered about this one. I figured it would be like the word "gratis", but with a 2. When it comes to Romance Languages - Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Catalan, etc - the vowel sounds all tend to be similar: ah eh ee oh oo. Unless they have a diacritical and then... forget about it!
As someone whose home park is Busch gardens Williamsburg, I see the plaza and theming and such for this ride and hear the distant sound of Adele sadly singing “we could have had it aaaaaaaaall” because imagine how much better Pantheon could be with some actual theming 😭😭😭
I agree about the top hat drop, it really feels weird and slow with the trim. The drop on the Eurofighter at my home park in western France is more powerful
When I went this summer, I did it 11 times over the course of 2 days. Every single seat delivered airtime, the theming was great and surprisingly the queue wasn't really that bad. The ops were amazing (they took off a train and got everything back and running within 5-10 mins!) and sometimes trim on the drop didn't feel as strong as other times. I also felt this on the horrendous trim on Oz Iris, the invert in the same park. So the worst bit of the ride really depends on ride to ride. Sometimes it is very strong as isn't that good but other times you can barely feel it. And if you can, make sure you get a night ride, it is one of the best I've ever had.
It’s kind of funny-before either ride opened, it seemed like most enthusiasts expected Toutatis to be better than GCE; now that they’re open, though, the consensus seems to be a preference toward GCE. Both look like absolutely amazing rides, though!
Does it have two loud intamin farts like pantheon on the boost passes? I still feel like that is kinda ridiculous so I was glad they kept TT2 a flat one continuous launch. Not a fan, but realize maybe I’m not the right demo.
That is strange, when I rode it on the last row you could barely feel the trim and got very powerful ejector air during the drop. On the first row I agree it was disappointing tho.
I'm pretty sure the trims are required to keep people from getting thrown against the restraints. Unlike RCI, Intamin apparently cares about its riders' comfort. These beyond-vertical drops are probably not going to be a feature in future coasters because they have now learned they are ruining one of the best features of these rides.
Yes the Top Hat sucks on Toutatis sadly if you compare it to GCE. Taiga is still missing in my List but yes Taron and GCE are better, but Toutatis is one of the best Coasters in Europe. I’m just glad that we have some good ones here in Europe🎉

we always had Oziris which is one of the best inverted worldwide
sHiNjEeK correct
@@sHiNjEeK Of course, OzIris is an awesome coaster, but I won't consider it elite

I've done both and I definitely prefer the back. The vertical spike in the back row is absurd.

I absolutely love this coaster! The theme, the layout and everything else
This is definitely like a mix of Pantheon and Kondaa.
The amount of quality content you produce is truly impressive.

thats good to hear!
Toutatis has been warmed up then, I noticed the higher speeds in the evening with Fénix in Toverland as well
I have ridden it 16 times and I can say that this this roller coaster is very dependent on the warm up, the experience at the start of the day and at the end of the evening is really very different, it's almost a second coaster. it’s not a coaster studios video with toutatis that doesn’t have some pantheon slander. great vid!
lol!

7:37 that backwards airtime hill is *insane.* I was literally FLYING. The airtime is so intense
Like, from that moment on, I was literally out of my seat.
You can skip the line as much times as you want with the unlimited Filotomatix pass wich costs 105€.
Bonkers price for a park in Europe
They changed it to 125 euro now.. just bought it for sunday 😍
Sauci55on i do not think the 105 Euros is worth it i drink beer at the park and that keeps me patient in long queues which in your language is Lines
@@DrPepperonesounds cheap to me, Alton Towers is £110
@timothywait9457 they are long because the rides actually don’t suck lmao 🤣 the ops at Parc Astérix are really fast so at least the line is always moving
Just curious, where does Wildcat’s Revenge rank among your RMCs now? I know your opinion of it has changed since the initial review.

how dare Australia use the same name as Leviathan at Canada's Wonderland!
I was there in August an waittime was max 15. Minutes - after 20:00 it was a walkthrough
The prononciation is actually a mix between the two you suggested, but it’s closer to the second one (tu-tatis)
I wondered about this one. I figured it would be like the word "gratis", but with a 2.

I like the wall stall though, pretty floaty!
you're talking about Vertika, aren't you?
Yup! Nice little punchy coaster that is.

If you felt the trim on OzIris, then it ran pretty quickly, it doesn’t hit unless the ride is warmed up and hauling like crazy!
A trimless ride on it should be really crazy
Went there two weeks ago, late september, there was about 50-60 minutes of waiting all day, even right before closing. It was very intense.
These new intamin look so good can't wait to ride one soon
you forgot the sideways airtime bump after the stall
You guys are so awesome. Your videos are so good. Keep up the great content. Also what do you think will come to carowinds next
23th October, i will be there...
Cool. Hope you like it

You should make a video of your favorite rollercoaster stations
that's actually something we've discussed and would love to do!
I'm going with you, it's a front row coaster. I think it's a little bit better than Taron. Gotham City is on my to do list for 2024.
Do you think pantheon or toutatis is better
I wish Pantheon at Busch Gardens Williamsburg had as good of theming as this ride does.
Can you choose your own row? Going next week and im getting the filotomax unlimitrd is it free Seat choice?
There is a grouper to assign rows, but you can request a certain row if you want
What happens if the track switch fails to operate mid-launch?
The launches will instead slow the train to a stop.
Honestly I would sit in the back so I can be at maximum height on the spike lol
bradleyscheurich correct i prefer the back
That hill is a burial mound

Oooh I do love a good trench
Does it go into the top 5 in Europe...
craigday i say no but in top 12
Even though i haven't ridden these intamin Blitz coasters i prefer this one over taron, taiga, pantheon and Gotham City escape.
btw they're already started new construction
please rank the intamin multi launchrs
