Micky was underrated--didn't get enough credit--as a very comedic actor and super-talented singer and musician. Thank you for your positive influence on my life--glad you stated (in this interview) that you were proud of the Monkees--I wish we had more wholesome shows and music today!
@@gogoyubari366 He is kind of underrated, though. When people are asked "Who are the greatest singers in pop music history" I imagine almost none of them will mention Micky, maybe because the Monkees aren't taken all that seriously by some people. Micky kind of falls between the cracks that way.
Seems so genuine and lovely. I never realized until recently how wonderful his voice is (still now even.) Thanks for all the wonderful memories and songs.
I remember watching Mickey when you was in Circus Boy. I think he was very expressive in his singing. He's always had a sense of humor that I think came through beyond the writing. Love ya Micky.
As a talent agent for years l am very impressed with the Monkees. I love the energy and stage presence they have. Only recently have l checked out interviews and clips from concerts. I think Mickey is a very good singer.
Fails to mention that he did play guitar and a little piano before the Monkees, and became a bona fide drummer for their show. He DID write some very good songs too, more so after this period of time. Always almost overly modest.
At the time, Micky chose to go by the name Michael while establishing his directing career in England. Thought it sounded more adult and executive-like. He wrote about it in his book.

Does the underrated comment have to be in every UA-cam video?

MICHAEL Dolenz⁉️ Please!
His real name is George Michael. But I know what you mean.
Last survivor.
The host lost me at "Pete" Tork.
Never heard “For Pete’s Sake”? It was played at the end of every episode.
