I just love how Davy plays his tambourine. I usually think what a waste of space a tambourine is but not when its Davy doing his thing. Adorable and talented man. Just love him RIP dear man x
My wife is a professional percussionist and educator. One of her former students is a well known professional percussionist who has toured internationally with many high profile rock/pop bands and solo artists. He told us a few years ago that is not uncommon for well known singers “playing” tambourines on stage with the jingles taped so the instrument is totally silent.
I have seen video of Mr. Tork doing his music in the early 80's before the Monkee's reunion and how he does not get the full credit he deserved is beyond me. I know he gets some but it seems like yea, MICKY!!! MICHAEL!!! DAVY!!!! and oh yea... Peter.... Just look at this video and he is able to more or less keep up with Micky in the humor department. I can't remember if it was Mike or Micky who commented something like, Nothing fake about our boy Peter! Just the best. I know Micky does everything possible to give him the credit by saying how talented Peter was and plays like a ton of instruments and the instrument had not been invented he didn't know how to play
I was there when the four of them got their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, they were only about 15 feet away from me, I saw them as four "ice cream sodas".
All 3 of them are terrific dancers...love when they move! Davy looks so handsome here ! Peter has an adorable dimple and love his long hair and amazing moves! He rocks! Love Mickey's performance!!
In the early 90's,I meant Davy before a Monkees concert here in Philly..He was sunbathing on top of the concrete wall along the music center. He signed my program and a record cover. Then asked me if I needed anything else.WHO DOES THAT?.He was soo kind..So I said my thank you's.But was so excited that I told some other people and a small crowd formed around him...So Davy,if ur reading this somehow..Sorry I ruined ur sunbathing, mate..:)

I think you just might be right. We just saw him live at a free concert last weekend in South Park (Allegheny County, PA) not far from Pittsburgh. He was incredible. The man will be 80 in March and still sounds exactly like he always has. He's as strong of an entertainer as he always was. Just an incredible talent.
It is 2021 Mike Nesmith has passed away. Micky is the last living member of the group now. We still have these videos and the Monkees music. So in an way they live forever.
I know, right? His dancing and improv comedy here are wonderful. As a kid I probably thought Davy Jones was the hottest, but as an adult Tork's charm wins me over in every clip.
I'm seeing all these interviews with the Monkees that I missed in past years; guess I was busy with school and work but I wish I had caught them at the time they aired. They are looking & sounding wonderful here. I would have been so happy to have seen these appearances back in the day.
I moved Peter Torkelson from a nice beautiful house in Beverly Hills to a nicer and larger beautiful house in Beverly Hills. The garage had a stairway that led to a bridge which went across the driveway then down some stairs and into the plush living room. Very nice guy. Good tipper too!
When I saw them on stage, it was Davy who was bringing up the New Monkees, he said they wish them luck but "they have to find their own audience ". Yes, at least several in the audience were booing by then, and Micky saying, "Aw, be nice."

Davy has improved over the years with that tambourine 😂😂
This is proof that the Monkees were masters of catchy tunes and comedy!!!
