- The Cairo Metro (Arabic: مترو أنفاق القاهرة, romanized: Metro Anfāq al-Qāhirah, lit. "Cairo Tunnel Metro" or مترو الأنفاق )is the rapid transit system in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It was the first of the three full-fledged metro systems in Africa and the first in the Arab world to be constructed. It was opened in 1987 as Line 1 from Helwan to Ramsis square with a length of 29 kilometres (18.0 mi). As of 2013, the metro carried nearly 4 million passengers per day. As of August 2020, the Cairo Metro has 74 stations (mostly at-grade), of which 3 are transfer stations, with a total length of 89.4 kilometres (55.6 mi). The system consists of three operational lines numbered from 1 to 3.
The Cairo Metro is run by the National Authority for Tunnels. The lines use standard gauge (1,435 mm (4 ft 8+1⁄2 in)). ~Wikipedia

No difference to Düsseldorf, maybe except the letters🙈
Wow I've never seen metro trains with window blinds before! But it does make sense considering Cairo's geography.
Some❤
This is a cool video!
I keep seeing the sign in English and Arabic "Ladies." At first, I thought it meant a rest room. But now I think it's where women are supposed to stand and wait for the train to arrive so they aren't mixed with men? However, on the cars, it seems women and men are seated together, even if they're strangers. Some women have their heads and necks covered, some do not.
And you also have something written above the doors in green and red, also dont know what that is
Cars 4 and 5 on trains are ladies only. Women may choose to sit in other cars and the 5th car becomes mixed later in the evening. This is from wikipedia, so don't quote me. Anyway, ladies cars are quite common in the islamic world not bc of islamic law but bc of sexual harrasment.
No, it means that this place to stand if you want to ride the ladies only cars. The other cars are mixed. It is very useful during rush hours where the metro gets very crowded, most of us will choose to ride the only ladies cars.
@@willy.william4582 It's a thing in some south and east Asian countries as well, like Japan and India
in each metro train there are 4 women only cars (young boys can go on there not teenagers tho), the rest of the train is mixed cars
Wow Cairo has better public Transport than American Cities😂😂
4 more stations has opened recently in line 3: nasser (transfer station to line 1), ,maspero, safaa 7agazy (in el zamalek island) and el kitkat
