I really enjoy this topic and love hearing how others were brought together by hearing His voice. It is amazing to see and experience God working with love and bringing two people together ordained by Him. It does costs to die to our fleshly desires and the "I's/me." Obedience is key. My Husband and I waited on each other in Lord, and He told us we were for each other. It is a long sweet story but what I really wanted to add here is that when our focus is set on things above, literally, serving Christ, getting closer to Him in relationship and prayer and studying His word, learning who He is, He will take care of you. I wrote a list of the characteristics I was wanting my Husband to have, but that list to me was a bit silly because I knew God knew best so I was waiting for His choice more than that list.
As a child, growing up in a violent, un loving, selfish, and broken home, where my parents were the complete opposites to each other and arguing daily, I learned at a very young age that God did create someone for those who wait upon Him. So living in that atmosphere, my main desire in a future Husband was to have someone who loved the Lord with all of his heart, mind, and soul. I knew that by him having that which is major must have, would be enough. Also singleness is a time of growth and bring God glory with our bodies and life. If we want to receive a person that is a blessing, we must become that too. So in the singleness time, we need to grow in Christ. God prepares us to receive that pure love He intended for His children to have and enjoy. He is the author of Love so why not wait for His best. Thank you for sharing! God bless you.
My Husband and I have been best friends for 20 years now and married fo 12 years. My advice is, ask God and the Holy Spirit for a sharp ear (spiritually speaking), wisdom, guidance, to sharpen the discernment, and to always have daily time alone with God at all times for everything. As a wife, I am called to be my Husband's sister in Christ first before being his wife. That meaning, I am there to serve him and help him whatever he needs. Secondly be an understanding and loving wife as Christ is with us. We need to keep in mind that we all have flaws regardless and we are all growing in Christ daily so with the same measure God gives us endless mercy and grace, we ought to give to our spouse as well. Seek God for wisdom in how to handle situations and also together study and pray together. 🤍

Don’t ever shun the wisdom of the younger generation- Some of the older generation need to take notes! Praising God for their courage to speak up and out against the Worldly way of dating/ marriage…..
