I’ve been using Nizoral for my first wash followed by a biolage clean scalp product for my second shampoo. It has made my scalp so much healthier! And I am losing way less hair in the shower. I was having a lot of hair loss in the shower when I was using Briogeo Apple Matcha and same goes for Purology and several other lines I had tried. I do like the Nizoral and I feel like conditioner or masks help with any dryness that may be experienced. But I don’t feel like it dries my hair out at all. Thanks for your update! Always enjoy your videos and what you have to say. Keeping in mind everyone scalp is different and so things that work for some are not going to work for everyone. ❤️

That sounds like a winning combo, I like the idea of a first wash and a second wash too, great way to not overcleanse! So glad this is working for you, and thank you for sharing!

Hi Helen! Thanks for the new vlog. I've been using Head and Shoulders (original) shampoo and conditioner and love it. I only wash my hair 2-3 times per week. I also use minoxidil 5% since October. Going strong and loving the growth!

Yay, I'm glad it's working for you and you've got a great routine going! I've always felt Head & Shoulders makes my face tingle in a strange way...just me? lol! Thanks for sharing. That's the most popular shampoo worldwide ;)

Hi Helen! I JUST started using Rogaine & found your videos…thank you for your faithfulness in sharing your journey…immensely appreciated💖 Quick question…as someone with dry brittle hair I try not to wash everyday I try for every 3rd day, however Rogaine states to be completely effective one should wash there hair everyday. I was wondering how often you wash your hair while using Rogaine? Thanks for your time & help! Have a blessed day🌺🌺🌺

I agree nioxin was drying i tried #6 and had to use the nexxus intense conditioner packets(which i love) to bring my hair back to life. I recently started using the Nexxus Therappe shampoo and Humetress conditioner and i like them.

I've been using Rogaine for women 5% for 5 months noticing some hair regrowth but not much.
Will continue to use for a year and see what happens. Tried the Nioxin shampoo and conditioner for color hair and yes found the shampoo dry my hair.
Can you recommend where is the best place to buy Porador shampoo and conditioner?
    Thanks.

Fine, thin, hypothyroid and menopausal hair here and I tried the new Invati light line (shampoo, conditioner, mask and scalp treatment). I used it regularly for about 3 months and my stylist noted that my hair was incredibly dry and I had some breakage. I honestly like the smell but the whole system is not for me. I waited too long and didn’t send it back so I use it occasionally. The mask is nice but the scalp treatment has SO much alcohol smell and it made my scalp itch terribly. I’m currently using Paul MItchell Scalp Care Anti-Thinning Shampoo, Conditioner, Mask, scalp treatment and styling foam and I love the whole system. I’m also using the HairMax hair band & Minoxidil 5% foam. I just started HRT for menopause and I’m praying it helps vs. hurts my situation but I’m considering asking my doc for Propecia script just in case. This is such a roller coaster for sure. Thanks for all of your time & effort to put out your videos!

Oh that's so interesting about the "light" Invati line! I too love pretty much any Aveda scent, they really get the smells right but...yeah, it was a miss for my hair, for sure. Sounds like you've got a solid plan and routine! Much hair health luck to you, my friend! :)

Thank you so much for your informative and helpful videos. As someone who's alopecia has been reversing and got a reconstructed hairline through FUT, you've helped give me the tools to have nice-looking hair again! (well, in the long term, anyway).
My only question is about the baby hairs that have regrown. Although the density is improving on the thinning area, I find baby hairs coming off when I apply and rub in minoxidil. I don't know if this is normal?

    • @HelenAvery
      @HelenAvery  2 роки тому +1

Hi! I'm so happy to help, even a little. I've definitely shed baby hairs (actually happening to me right now) but more in the shower than directly after Rogaine, if that makes sense. I'm not sure if it's normal either...you could always call the Rogaine hotline and ask (even if you're using generic?) Just a thought!

Please review the Virtue hair care line. They have some new sort of protein that they claim promotes hair growth without minoxidil. They also have another hair growth set with minoxidil.

I started Rogaine 4 months ago and just now seeing alot of new regrowth. I also stopped coloring my hair 5 months/almost 6 months ago and between those two changes I have seen alot of growth and very little hair loss now. My gray/white is abundant but I would rather have white hair than no hair. I use Nizoral once a week. I love it actually. Scalp feels really clean. I had used Nizoral 4 in the past and it was slightly drying but also deeply clean. I prefer Nizoral above all the others.

Hi Jennifer. My dermatologist has me taking Men's Rogaine once a day Viviscal Vitamins and Ketoconazole rx shampoo. Since October 29th. I'm so happy for you. I do see about One inch hairs around my hair line and some scattered around my head, for me it's a slow process. I see him again in April. I guess we'll see what he thinks about my progress. I feel it could be coming in more. 😩

@@daughteroftheking2200 yes I use the Rogaine 5% solution once a day. For the first 2 months I used the foam and to be honest the solution is more effective for me I think and doesn't irritate with alcohols that are in the foam.

    Absolutely Beautiful Video Helen!
Thank you for your Honesty I Looooove every Video.
I just purchased the Purador Gold shampoo and conditioner through Costco app, $5.00 off. As you may remember I have the Covid Hair Symptoms, dry, frizzy stringy thin hair.
I've only used the Purador twice, a little shampoo goes a long way! I'm not sure if I like the products yet. Also my dermatologist has me on Ketoconazole rx shampoo, I'm wondering if it's the same as the Nizoral, also for dandruff but it had DHT Blockers.
If Purador is drying then this bottle will last me forever lol.

I remember Mane and Tail back in the 80s. Friends of ours owned horses. I’m not sure how we got the idea to try it for ourselves but it sucked the life out of my at the time oily hair. Almost bought it recently because of the hype and seeing curly girls use it. I thought I might of been mistaken in the past. I’ll keep my dollars. It ain’t for us.

**UPDATE** Colorwow shampoo eventually dried my hair out pretty bad. I would only use it as a once in a while clarifier. Definitely not a regular shampoo.
Have you ever looked into the Color Wow shampoo? Their selling point is it leaves nothing behind that will clog the follicles causing hair loss like all other shampoos do. They say that all shampoo should do is clean and if it promises to do something like volumize, moisturize, smooth, etc. it will leave something behind on the scalp in order to achieve that benefit it promises.

Nice recap of your shampoo tries. Hair loss has definitely been a roller coaster for me. Lots of factors, aging, 5 years of Arimadex, seasonal loss. The minoxidil has helped with loss, but seems to have stopped working on miniaturization and improving the length of the growth cycle. So possibly it’s starting to fail. I agree about Mane and Tail. My husband insists on using this. Before it, his hair was thicker, much healthier. He’s had nice hair his whole life, but this product seems to be contributing to thinning, dullness and less healthy hair. I tried it and immediately knew it was stripping the oils so stopped using it.

    • @HelenAvery

Thanks for sharing...it is indeed such an up and down process, and it can be so tough! I hope you find something that helps slow the loss. Mane N Tail...dried out my palm! However, many swear by it!
