This heater would do you good. I still have my replacement heater and it was going strong till I closed down my 125.

It's a known issue with these heaters, you need to place them horizontally in good water flow and then they work fine

Do you still claim this heater to be worth buying nowadays? I have a 100 watt aquaclear for my 29gal but was on the hunt for a larger heater for my 55gal. What would you suggest?

I had two of these seemed good at first but then I started getting an electric current feeding from them when I test it was only when it was fully submerged
When it was just above the min water level mark it was fine no charge as soon as submerged though the voltage re appeared (yes I found this out by getting an electric shock when I was changing a filter )
Fluval could not have cared less when I asked for help
Please be careful with these heaters the do fail there not water as water tight as they should be

Chris, what did you end up doing to get enough water flow so the "LF" wouldn't come on? If a power head is too much (I have a 20 gallon long), is the only other option is to rely on the water flow from the FOB? I have a Aquaclear 50.

Mike Moore I'd put a bubbler under it to increase flow. Cheap and easy. Thanks for the question mike

Has any one noticed if all the elements turn on. I also have the E-300 and at night I can see only one element turn orange for a short time then shut off. It is maintaining the tank at the set temp but is this normal?.

shnobi24 well my tank is on a night cycle so when I go to bed the light is on lol. but I do notice it glows brighter sometimes. great question I'll keep an eye on it.

thanks for answering. I have had the heater running for 1.5 years now. Never had a problem but the video for the heater states it will stay on till the set temp is reached. My heater cycles on and off like the Bi-metal does after a water change. This condition is not new, the heater was working like this out of the box.
