Have been admiring you for years now, Lindsay. Thank you SOO much for doing what you do and sharing the inside story with us all. Wish I could be a "fly on the wall" and just sit and take in what you are saying, directing and final execution of images. But, if and until that may happen, thanks again for all you do to help us with our dreams. Sincerely, Huie (Bay Area-California)
Great informative video! I can't say it enough, we live in super exciting times with access to information like this one and this platform. Thank you Ms. Lindsay Adler for sharing the process with us all, by itemizing the things and order that one should keep in mind to create a successfull Fashion Editorial. So many times when one starts we tend to treat each image as an individual shot but in the context of an Editorial there needs to be a unifying thread and like you did and mentioned Lighting is crucial. Thanks ADORAMA for having someone of Ms. Lindsay Adler's level on your channel!
Exactly! Honestly in an editorial I'm not even aiming for every shot to be wow... they all need to be strong and work together. Yes, I'd like to wow but some shots are 'supporting roles'.
@@lindsayadlerphoto Definetly Ms. Lindsay Adler there is the anchor shot while the rest are supporting images! However, I don't know if this has happened to you and that is when you present an editorial to a Publication for consideration sometimes the art director or editor sees another image as the anchor image and not the one we thought. Thanks for commenting, I enjoy all the videos you make!
Hi Lindsey! I am really looking forward to seeing more of your videos in the future! I live in the Finger Lakes Region. I am looking for a different photography niche than wedding and high school seniors! 🙌🏻
Awesome tutorial as usual Lyndsey ! Love that new series, exactly what I was looking for ! You're such a good communicator! A pleasure to follow you and an honor to be able to learn from such a great (and gorgeous) photographer! Keep the good work and impatient to see the 2nd video of that series!
Excelent video, content and ideas, your work looks awesome!, One thing That at least I think would be useful too is sharing a little bit more insight on the business side, for example, you mentioned that when you shared your mood board with the art directors, they sahred their feedback, well, it would be good to know what they said or what type of feedback they gave, for newbies like me to have a better understanding on how that conversation or communication goes... Anyways, great content, keep sharing your knowledge and submitting these videos,, good work!!
agree ,communication is a big to know! and something about budget planing and choices made out of it. May be something about time to stop and give another try. Usually some want big for less and interesting to know when its time to say no and why.
This is great toutorial and help me a lot to come to the next level. By the way how you can shoot with an Canon EOS R5 which is not in the market yet ;-)
hi, just to help you i think before step 1 comes the definition of Fashion Editorial after all this is an intro. also the writers/writer did not catch what was implied at 1:52 have a listen, looking forward to the next video
If you just starting out and dont know if your even going to make any money off these shoots yet, how do you go about paying your team for their work? or are people out there looking to work for free because it helps display their work to?

Thank you for the tutorial! Question: did you pay the model and makeup/hairstylist? Is this an expectation when shooting an editorial?
This is great toutorial and help me a lot to come to the next level. By the way how you can shoot with an Canon EOS R5 which is not in the market yet ;-)
I've had it in my hands since march 19th because I'm spoiled by canon. ;p. xo
This is amazing
Hi! Great information!
In terms of fashion editorial, what is a Deck Concept ?
hi, just to help you i think before step 1 comes the definition of Fashion Editorial after all this is an intro. also the writers/writer did not catch what was implied at 1:52 have a listen, looking forward to the next video
what about the wardrobe style, how did you decide those looks?
If you just starting out and dont know if your even going to make any money off these shoots yet, how do you go about paying your team for their work? or are people out there looking to work for free because it helps display their work to?
Talk about how one can get an editorial gig.
