Is Salvia Coccinea as medicinal as Salvia Officinalis?

Huh...it's one that I don't know anything about in terms of uses. I'm going to have to check up on that!

@@annamarijaheltphdherbalist800 Thank you. I was told that if the leaves had a slight pineapple scent, then it would be medicinal. Mine is the salvia coccinea (red), and it does have that scent. But I can't find anything on this variety that says it is medicinal.

@@LadyGoza Hmmm...I wonder if it's, instead, Salvia elegans (Pineapple Sage), which is supposed to be edible. This is from North Carolina State Extension: " If the flower smells like sage or grass it is Salvia coccinea, do not eat. If it smells like pineapple, it is Salvia elegans and is edible."
