I chewed sage leaves through menopause for hot flushes! At first I thought it tasted like the smell of dirty socks 😂 but it became an ally at the time 🙏🏻
Came across these videos for more recipes for herbal teas and I love them. And yes very important to say thanks to the plant (its still alive, if it breathes its alive)
What a beautiful way to show your appreciation to the plant Terri. I say this because whenever I take from the garden I feel little pangs of guilt...I shall definitely follow your example of thanks. 👍
Hi Terri Jennifer from South Africa here. Just came across your channel and simply love it! I had to subscribe. Thank you for sharing, looking forward what's coming next. God bless
I'm on day 3 of having Covid-19 and I can honestly say that chewing a couple of sage leaves every hour has soothed my poor battered throat no end. My taste buds are still intact - I think! So I can taste the leaves and they are quite lovely. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge, you're an angel 😇 x
Thank you for sharing. Very timely as last night my daughter who lives in NYC called to say she was suffering with a wretched sore throat. I am sending her some dried sage from the garden and forwarding this video to her. Fortunately sage will be easy for her to aquire❣️Thank you ❣️❣️❣️
That is interesting, in the middle east I usually hear that sage is for stomach ache, there is a beautiful story that my father told me about being on a holiday in Sinai (I might be wrong about the location so excuse me), having a terrible stomach ache, when a local traditional community made him a very strong and my dad claimed disgusting tasting sage tea, he had struggled to drink yet that tea was so effective that he just got cured almost immediately. I had a bad stomach ache when I was camping with a nature school community at a nature school festival when I was young, looking back I see that it was probably a PTSD reaction to something, but they had made me a beautiful sweet tasting sage tea that I actually were very thankful for, even though I wasn’t feeling like drinking anything, it helped a lot. Though I did get home from the forest at the end of that night and didn’t get to complete the festivities as I really wanted, I remember that experience pleasantly even though I felt terrible at the time. Sage is amazing.
What I also find amazing is that different peoples in different places will use a herb (that can be found anywhere else), for different reasons to people using it elsewhere.!!!
Terri, thank you for the lessons on infusions. I love the lavender blessings you spread about. I always talk to my herbs and plants and thank them and welcome them every day. Blessings.
Sage is a wonderful herb. So many ways to purpose it. By the way Terri, I am coming to Ireland in May and will get to meet you at Bealtaine Cottage I hope! Colette invited me to come back and celebrate. =)
I like to drink sage, thyme, rosemary, & stinging nettle together w/ honey. Ooo, a few lavender flowers would be nice too 😋 I love your site, hello from Delaware, USA😊
Hi Terri. Thank you for the wonderful video. Is the sage that you’re speaking of, basic sage? I’ve heard that lyre leaf sage is great for allergies, but I’m not having any luck finding the dried version. Thank you.
Hi - if your sage still looks bright and green as it did when you first dried it, then yes go ahead and use it. I always prefer fresh herbs but fortunately if they are dried carefully, dried herbs are just as good - in fact some aromatic herbs are more potent when dried. If you feel happy that the sage is in good condition, go ahead and use it. If you intend to use it for medicine, let the tea infuse for 15-20 minutes with a cover on top. Enjoy!
It is a different type of Sage to that in smudge sticks that you buy. That will probably be White Sage. I use my own garden sage because White Sage is part of a different heritage and does not grow here, it is also over harvested to the point of extinction. I use my own sage from the garden because it has the same energetically cleansing quality and grows like mad. You can use many different plants to make smudge sticks. I also include Yarrow, Rosemary and Artemesia. xx
Thank you so much! I have an allergic reaction to the cheap new cleaning chemicals! I did not test positive for covid! The left side of my throat is inflamed and irritated! Naturally, the medication barely worked! I knew there was a better way!
Hello Beverley. I would recommend you have at least three cups during the day. Make sure that you cover the tea and let it infuse or brew for at least 20 mins. You should see some cooling after a few days.
Hi Melanie, I don't wash my herbs. If I wild harvest plants I only pick clean, perfect ones without dirt or damage. If you want to wash your herbs always dry them carefully.

Ha ha - it can smell a bit sweaty - but isn't that interesting that it relieves hot flushes and night sweats! The tea is very nice.
Wish I had known that at 20😂😂😂 At 60 I no longer need to!😂😂😂
I use a sage and lemon infusion for nausea. Works magic!
I bet it does! xx
I do thank and love Mother Nature and ask permission etc.... but I absolutely love your lavender idea! Thank you xxx

Very good information!
Ty for that wonderful information
Thanks, Terri. I dried and stored sage from the summer. Can I use that or is it best fresh?

Have u ever grown Pineapple sage??? It's wonderful, u MUST! Then I want to hear all about it!❤
I haven't heard of it but I will check it out.
Thanks for this video. Great lavender idea. Will any variety of sage work for throat and menopause? I have pineapple sage
I am sure the Pineapple Sage will be some help but i tend to stick with the medicinal varieties. ie Salvia officinalis xx
We love good witches.
My love, put a spoon honey inside, it goes great!
Definitely and honey has its own medicine!
Terri, thank you for this video! I would like to know if I can give to my toddler who is ill with laryngitis. And here I can only find dried sage.
Dried Sage is fine - make a tea. Just give your toddler a smaller cup and not too hot. xx
mer pour tous 🍀🙏
Is this the same sage which can be used for smudge sticks? Thanks Terri xx
