It sets a bad example, for people who are not so used to your inventions then you are, some might even do that with a regular bow. Otherwise some nice inventions.
I don’t know how to explain it but drawing the fenris back is completely different from drawing a regular bow back. It is alot easier. I think it has to do with the mass of the fenris itself. Also, with the horizontal position of the handle, it just feels right drawing it the way joerge does it.
Congrats on the 001 of 100 - You deserve it Joerg! You have designed a truly amazing companion piece to the archery world. I want the Greyback version. This is Truly a Great tool, and the countless amount of Hours labor involved, in development. is overwhelmingly unbelievably obvious. Millions of dollars spent in Time for R&D went into this project for sure.
No. I really mean it. Mr. Sprave is a mechanical genius. His designs and wood working skills are incredible. Many designers are book smart but know very little about making what they design.

Seriously, get yourself a *3D Printer* &/or *CNC Machine* for your _Prototyping_ & do everone a favor. ~ ~ ~ I so do love seeing cool tech all organised in a sweet case. I reckon you could make almost anything look damn cool by having all of it's parts carefully placed in a specific, moulded foam cavity, and all in a slick case.
I have a suggestion for you to build. using your drill, place a worm gear in the chuck and use it to draw your bow on the repeating bow. that way your drill won't be sticking out the side. Worm gears are common for winding car windows up and down. you could even use the window's motor.. just a thought.
Unfortunately as I am left-handed I must get the gray back if I'm going to purchase however I usually just print my own which unfortunately entails putting it together with glue and screws and then shaping the groove and then taping an arrow before I fit the top end and then finally I can attach it to my bow and of course remove the tape from the Arrow. The only problem I have is that I use single taper heavy arrowheads or budkin on a forward weighted shaft and so I have to create my own weighted shafts as well as create my own broadheads it's just way too expensive otherwise and I'm still going to have to do a little thicker than my arrow shaft
A thought about the rear handle/release. Would it be more ergonomical if the release was attatched to the fenris through a ball-joint, so that it was free moving. Would that make it more easy to draw for higher draw weights? I get it that such a construction would make it more complex to design the trigger, since the rear handle would no longer have a fixed position on the fenris. Could the trigger use a bicycle cable of sorts to connect to the fenris frame?
Im not as youth as I used to be but is nothing wrong with lighter bows. Still love my little Barnett banshee 25lb youth compound quadbow, that I got for gallery shooting. Would be a fun cheap canidate to greatly enhance.
For some reason I never noticed until today that the uncocked Fenris bows resemble swans- or maybe dragons- in flight. Next ground-breaking version you make, please keep that in mind. ;>)
It would be great to have a Fenris for hunting deer in the United States that could load large broadheads and with a locking mechanism that you could remove to make sure it's not a crossbow.

Those are rather low kinetic energy figures all around. A good compound bow optimized for performance can manage 91.5 ft-lbs (124 J) at the same 70lb draw weight but 29-inch draw length. Assuming a 6-in brace height, a 29-in draw delivers 1.21x power compared with a 25-in draw. This only partially explains the difference in your results & what high-performance compounds achieve. I'm curious whether the Fenris itself reduces performance or if it's only a matter of the shorter draw plus comfort settings, bows that aren't made for high performance, etc.
hey Joerg i was playing around with some coins (aus 20 cent )and i was ditching them at a cardboard box and i missed hit a clay plate and it cracked so i thought how can i make this deadly but since i only have light elastics and a homemade crossbow (it can’t even go through cardboard) so that wouldn’t work so then i thought of your incredible inventions with rubber elastics and i think if anyone can make a weapon out of coins you could
Adding draw length is not always a good thing, longer arrows are heavier, add aerodynamic drag, and need a thicker wall to fly straight (longer arrows oscillate more and need more wall thickness to have the optimal oscillation). And calculating the front of center ratio is more complex if you can't get points that are weighted enough.
With this system, as the arrows are guided through the fenris itself, you can shoot arrows shorter than the bow could normally manage, as the arrow doesn't need to reach the bow itself
