This has helped a lot, was feeling massively doubtful about doing it. As being alone would ruin the entire experience and probably make me go home early. Planning on going some point this year.
Always so much good insight and tips in these videos! Thanks Clauds starting off my time in Australia in March by meeting so many wonderful new people on the Welcome to Melbourne tour and beyond is definitely the thing i'm looking forward to most 🤩
You're so welcome lovely and how exciting you're coming out in a few months! You'll meet so many new friends on the tour and beyond. If you have any questions before departure don't hesitate to reach out to us. See you in Melbourne💃
I believe every single toothpaste or toothbrush commercial should have an aussie in it (pause the video at 3:00). Especially if there's a "Claudia" advertising it...😏😆 Yeah, I arrived in Sydney 1 week ago and what she's saying is absolutely spot-on. My problem is...I'm not insecure to talk to other people. It actually is (and this is personal) that I want to speak with a perfect australian accent. (yeap..I am the "weird guy" from one of your videos 😂). Every day I go to a square bench which is near the hostel and I stay there for an hour while listening to an Aussie podcast and trying to reproduce the words, expressions and slang terms. Btw, I haven't been in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Tasmania, etc, but damn...Sydney is stunning: the connection between city (massive buildings, skycrapers, etc) and nature is more than pleasant. I went to Darling Harbour the other day and it is beautiful too.
Do you have any hostels recommendation that are introvert friendly? I don't think I will do well sleeping in bunk beds too as I'm a super light sleeper and sleep is important to me.
Sleep is definitely important to enjoy the activities you have planned for the next day! There are loads of different hostels that are suited to the party animal or those who prefer to chill out more (for example, Nomads hostels tend to be highly sociable whereas YHA hostels can still be sociable but are often quieter) - you can get in touch with us at hello@welcometo.travel and we'll be able to share options tailored to your trip and the destinations you're visiting :)
Hey! Quick question: I'm a US citizen tin the process of filling out the VISA 462 (Work and Holiday). At the end of my application I was confused because I was asked for both a "Travel document" and a "Photograph - Passport" as of now I am submitting the same document for both of these (a picture of my passport). Is this okay to do, or am I making a mistake?
Hey Neil, super exciting you're coming to Aus soon! We need more Americans this side of the world🕺🏼 From the wording I believe they're referring to the same document being your passport. Unless it specifically says they require two separate documents/forms of ID, I think just your passport being uploaded in both spots is fine. Let me know how you go.
Let us know your best tips on meeting people when travelling abroad! 🤓
Your tips are brilliant! So empathetic and kind. Thank you so much! ❤

I also applied for 462 and travel documents including many files pages, like my passport, household register, 54 form, and ID card.
