Very useful information. I'm about to start my WH in Australia next week. I'm very excited and nervous at the same time, but your videos had helped me to feel more prepared for everything haha, so thank you. 😁
Hi! So I'm from the UK and used to be a support worker and we would actually get double pay on bank holidays. It was a private company though not NHS.. and definitely wouldn't get paid as much as you mentioned for Australia! Social worker from Canada here! Thank you for sharing your insights and great to hear a fellow social worker doing a working holiday visa in Australia. Curious what recruitment agency you went through and what FaceBook group you were connected with? I am also looking into social work jobs in Australia (I have around 3 years of experience within the homeless sector and 1 year in the geriatric field) but wondering how challenging (or not!) it is to find social work jobs. Would be great to have you post a video specifically for social workers! Your video is SUPER helpful and have given me confidence to go to Australia :)

What medical certificate do I need to apply for holiday work visa ? 2. I thought you can only work 88 days in the farm ? 3. If I get approved June 2023 for the visa does it end June 2024 or the date starts when I get to Australia- in my case Melbourne? Thanks

Hi Dain! Thank you for creating such helpful contents for us doubtful future WHV peeps 😅 Do you know if there are any website/platform to understand further on the type of casual jobs that is allowed for a WHV?
Hello! Thank you so much for this video and all your camera angels was such a great touch :~) Sophie mentioned that she worked as a substitute teacher for a little, do you know where she found that job? I’m interested in that route ~
Thanks for all these pieces of information! Congratulations 🎉🎉!! I want to ask you only a question, if I choose a casual/ flexible job I can leave it even after a couple of weeks or some days ? I understood well?
Just found your channel, love your videos so far!! I'm considering taking the plunge and apply for a working holiday visa. Thank you for all the useful info and the pages as well. Would love to know how difficult it is to rent a place in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane for instance.
Hey, thanks for your content! It’s really helping me plan.I’m planning my move this year from Scotland and was wondering if you have any personal experiences seeing jobs relating to community work & youth work, is there a demand for this type of sessional work in aus for people on a WHV? I have a degree and loads of experience. Thanks for any help ☺️
Hi, I will go to Australia in September, first I want to travel the east coast, and afterwards I want to start looking for a job. Now my question is more about the travelling, because would you recommend to book all the hostels in advance or wait will you are there and see how it goes?
You have to do your taxes regardless of how much you earn, and yes even under $45,000. If your earning and have had tax with held you need to lodge a tax return, even if you didn’t really earn above the tax free threshold you will still need to submit a tax return, even if it’s a return not necessary. Easy to do online.
@@DainLuka yes do, I work for the tax office and have to call people that have not lodged, sure if their income is below the threshold we can sort out with a return not necessary, but the thing is usually you will need to submit this, and you may have earned below the tax free threshold but may have had tax with held, in which case this will be credited back to you, once you submit your lodgement
Thanks for useful information! I'm going to Australia as a working holiday maker soon for one year, but I'm not sure if I'm applicable to traveler. Do you think I can buy travel insurance SafetyWing Health Insurance?
I’ll be honest I think $5000 is enough to keep you going for a few weeks to get yourself sorted until you get a job - but if you wanna travel and have money to fall back on save as much as you can 😊
Again this just caters to British who dont need to do the regional work anymore. Im on a working holiday and i cant seem to get any work. I'm in Geelong. Im trying to get traffic controller work and i can't get it. I havent found it easy getting regional work. I was working in a cheese factory but was let go after 1 week and 3 days as i was slow and havent worked in a factory in years. Thst was my regional work. This has screwed my plans now i have to try and find regional somewhere else. Im 35 now. If i don't get regional ill just have to keave when my visa runs out in April 2025. I was working as a teacher aide in a school for a few months prior. Will have to travel to somewhere else soon as I'm not getting any work in Geelong. I came on my own. I've been very isolated. Ive lost count on the amount of jobs I've applied to and i havebt heard back from anyone on bagpackers or seek.
I dont have a driving license so I can't get a job as traffic controller? Or can I still get it? It seems they are looking for some experienced individuals
This may sound like a stupid question so apologies if it is - did you let employers know up front that you could only work for them for 6 months or was it already written into the job advert/contract when you applied?
Not that I know of, but theres a lot of seasonal work over here - for farms + touristy areas so there is a lot of short term/flexi work. My employers never really asked about my visa but they would know that you can only do 6 months if your on a WHV
Are you sure that you only have to pay taxes above 45,000 AUD as a foreigner with an ABN? Because I heard as a foreigner you have to pay taxes from the first dollar you earn.
