Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 жов 2021
- I purchased this Lane Acclaim Coffee Table at a garage sale as part of a set of 4 Lane Acclaim Tables for $350. I sold the non-matching end tables for $250 and was left with the Side Table and Coffee Table. In this video, I will be refinishing the Dovetail Joint Coffee Table using Candlelite Gel Stain by General Finishes. I will apply a urethane topcoat of Arm R Seal by General Finishes. If you enjoy seeing furniture restorations like this one, please consider subscribing to my channel for more great content. Thank you for your support. Barry

I'm impressed by anyone who can look at a piece of furniture and say, "this part is oak, that part is beech, these accents are ash..." I look at it and say, "Hey, that's made of wood." ...and so ends the limit of my expertise. 😁😁 Beautiful work!
I found a Lane Acclaim coffee table years ago at a flea market. It was just sitting there, amongst the rest. I bought it with money I didn't have and had to carry it the whole way home. Almost a decade later, $35 never looked so good. 😁
I am an empty nester. My furniture is the victim of years of nail polish/remover, model car glue, soda/beer can rings and countless shoe marks. I keep thinking I should refinish it. One day I will. I remember loving that beautiful NEW table. Currently, I am loving those beautiful OLD memories.
Thank you for bringing awareness to mental health! I myself have ADHD, anxiety and depression. Working on these projects is such a form of therapy for me. Great job as always!
I guess I’m a 6- indescribable lol. I’m 66, still going strong, and tired of a home that looks like everyone else’s- finally doing what I like with my old furniture in my own way. I’m late to refinishing but now I have the patience to do it right- and enjoy every step of the process. Never too old to teach an old dog new tricks! I’m also a healthcare worker ( can’t afford to retire just yet) and the past 2 years has taken a toll on my mental health. I had to find something to give me peace and take my mind off of work and woodworking is doing that. I’ve learned so much watching you and others and truly appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us.
You are so handsome 😍
As a child my Dad would take me and my siblings to go visit my Great Aunt. She had a beautiful mahogany set of end tables and a coffee table. The sitting room as she called it was very small so us kids ended up sitting on the floor. My favorite spot was laying under the coffee table. Just thought I would share.
Another beautiful piece of furniture saved from the dump
I'm a 3 - empty nester: I have had my furniture 35 plus years and I'm constantly looking around to find my next victim - I mean project. I also have lots of house plants, but they have to go outside and play in the summer. Just about to bring them back in. They've grown so much, I have no idea where to put them. The only thing I collect are sewing machines - in cabinets - that need to be restored. More projects for the upcoming winter.
Im a fellow Wisconsinite and just found your channel not long ago. We have a few really nice pieces of furniture that we purchased new about 20-25 years ago. The pieces are still in excellent condition, but getting dated and aged. The pieces are solid wood and made by hand so I really just want the pieces to be cleaned up and updated. My goal is to learn the basics well enough to do justice to the craftsman. Ive been buying small wood pieces at the thrift store and practicing on them. Not quite where I want to be yet, but getting there. I just love watching your videos. You're a good teacher. Thanks for sharing the work you are doing!
I myself have bipolar disorder, have lived in 10 cities and 5 countries and decided I want to stay in one place so am back in my home town currently, bought a house and trying to put down roots. I'm currently filling my time with hobbies and find renovating furniture very therapeutic and relaxing, I watch videos like yours for advice and ways to better myself.
Your so organized and your voice is soothing. No Bull. Just the details we need. I love that. Thanks. Sharing with my fellow lovers of furniture, flippers and carpenters
Furniture restoration has been my therapy since this last surge of Covid started. Working as an icu RN from the beginning of the pandemic I needed an outlet and have resuscitated a longtime passion for furniture and design in the process. Pristine restoration Barry! Such a huge fan of your work!
I was working in the alley behind our house when I turned to see my wife walking down the alley with our dog walking beside her. My 5' 2" wife was carrying coffee table on her head. "Where'd you get that?" I asked. "Someone had thrown it in the alley," she replied. "Hmm, how did I not notice that?" She explained it was in an alley over on "the east side of the park." She walked home with a Lane Acclaim coffee table on her head for two miles. She refinished it and gave it to her brother, who has a mid-century ranch. Now she always remembers to bring her phone with her on walks.
Incredibly impressed. Not only the table, but also how respectful you are of the pieces you restore.
I’m obsessed with that table. The lines and the pattern in the veneer, so unique. Awesome job!
My six-year-old daughter and I have started watching your videos as a way of calming her down before bed. Your voice and demeanor are delightfully soothing, and your work is absolutely stunning. Thank you for making these videos!
What an ingenious way to apply glue to the cracked wood. I would not have thought of that in a million years!
You are so right when u say that finding a hobby that u love helps coping with losing a loved one or just helps in general. Redoing furniture and just doing crafts has helped me so much. My mom told me one day that I needed help bc I was doing crafts everyday and redoing all my furniture. I told her that this is my help. My mind stays busy and I enjoy seeing the beautiful transformations just like you’ve done with this gorgeous piece here. Well done!
You are truly awesome Barry. Inside and out. I’m sure your channel is absolutely flourishing. I’ve been watching you since you started. What a difference! This video is a delight to watch. Thank you! For being you!
