Great video and explanation of why you prefer your PC monitor over the C1 however for me PC gaming never completely satisfied me until I switched from my 27" PC gaming monitor to the 48" C1 as a PC monitor...now my PC gaming experience is like my console gaming experience but without having to choose between fidelity mode vs performance mode.
I love gaming on the C1 so much...it reminds me of my 10 year old 64" Samsung plasma but with better specs.
3 years ago I had switched my console gaming from the plasma to a 64" 4k HDR LED however now I moved both my PS5 and switch dock from the TV room to my desk, so all my gaming is in one location.
Sitting closer to the 48" C1 (in addition to it's superior picture quality and specs) makes up for going from a 65" TV to a 48" TV...
I point that out because screen size was the motivating factor why I switched from a 27" PC gaming monitor to a 48" TV used as a PC monitor, so it sounds as if I am contradicting myself by going from a 65" to a 48" TV.

I've been using 43" 4K TVs as computer monitors since 2016. I think it's the sweet spot for 4K monitor use. My current TV is the Samsung Q60R 43". I tried the 43" QN90B, but fuzzy text and motion blur was a deal breaker. I'm now waiting for some reviews of the new Sony X85K 43". Great video and break down of the pros and cons of the C1 TV vs the LG UltraGear PC monitor and why you personally prefer the PC gaming monitor over the C1 TV.
    2 months ago I switched from a MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD 27" 1440p IPS 165Hz gaming monitor to a 48" C1 TV and I love it!!!
My PC gaming experience is now like console gaming but without having to choose between fidelity mode vs performance.
I do not play multiplayer so 120 fps is enough for me...what I love about the C1 are the size and quality of the picture.
I love gaming on the C1 so much that I moved both my PS5 and switch dock from my 65" 4k HDR LED in the tv room to my desk, so now all my gaming is in one location.

I chose the 48" C1 as it's marked way down right now. Best decision I've ever made, and I've been flip flopping between screens for a couple years now. HDR gaming on these is out of this world, definitely feels next gen. Edit - I did wall mount it and its roughly 50" from my eyes which is the sweet spot. Would definitely not recommend for any distance closer than that

      That's exactly what I did. The LG 48" C1 2021 model is about $900. After Nov 2022, the LG 42" C2
should be considerably marked down in price. And by that time, competitors will have their own
      OLED models out for XMAS.

@streamx3m If people buy OLED monitors with display ports, the manufacturers

      @Morfevzi 2 роки тому +2

The unspoken advantage with the C2 with PC is the ability to game in windowed/borderless windowed mode. Just game at 1440p windowed mode if fullscreen at 4k is too big. You'll also have extra screen real estate for other apps like browser and other utilities. You really can't do this with a tiny 27" 4k screen since it's too small!

    • @surject

I don't understand either why people never get this... If it weren't for the reflections I would have bought and mounted it to an arm ages ago - that way you can move it a bit closer for 4x21" productivity or fully extend the arm for sim games with desk-mounted joysticks while sitting further away or move it far back for 2K borderless (or fullscreen non-scaled/non-interpolated) FPS gaming... - owner of a 65" C9 and EIZO S-PVA monitors. My 4k monitor with HDR looks nowhere near as good as this screen. Also, that display was 144hz and this is 120hz. I don't know how or why, but the frame rates are just so much smoother. Maybe thats a HDMI 2.1 vs Display Port thing... Those blacks do ALOT for image quality/clarity. I completely understand those who think it's too big though. It won't be to everyone's taste. But if you feel like you would enjoy this, you will most definitely not be disappointed.

I totally agree about the relevance of the kind of games you play. I've tested many monitors for my PC setup, and ended buying a 48 C1.
I have a pretty big desk, and got my C1 wall mounted, so distances are not really an issue.
After all this monitors, and being able to confirm that (i) I don't play online very often and (ii) I play mostly RPG, racing, fighting and story driven games, the 48" C1 became the "forever monitor". And if I want to play on the couch, I go to my 55" C1.
With that TV setup I can move my consoles from my living to my desk and back.

It was on sale for $899 and I thought that was a great price for what would be a very large screen as compared to other PC monitors around the same size. The thing with smaller screen is you can VESA mount it and literally move it closer to your eyes, and it'll take up more of your vision. So even 27" panel can get more "immersive" this way. A bigger screen on the other hand, requires you to have a bigger desk if you want it to look smaller. But assuming that screen size don't matter, well, OLED is the way to go. It's simply a superior tech overall.

Found another Rebirth lover. Best game-mode in years, much more like multiplayer but yet has the competitiveness of a traditional BR. Surprised more games haven't tried that concept yet.
One thing I would suggest if you get your hands on a HDMI 2.1 PC and try gaming on the C2 with the 21:9 mode for competitive gaming. punching in at eye level would make for a comparable size to the 27" while adding a bit more FOV.

if you sit near your monitor, working and playing game, maximum you need 27, this is size when your eye can see all what happening on your screen. Other versions, its like TV, you can buy TV and sit near it, but the main TV idea, when you sit on distance. Its cool when you have big screen but dont forget guys, bigger screen-resolution, more weight for your graphic card.

in my opinion for only MK player the best solution is a 32" because the monitor stand takes up space and we increase the useful distance of the monitor, so by moving the monitor away from us we have to compensate with the size. In my opinion ideal monitor height is 40/45cm!!

  • @GamerPalmSweats

I’m a one of the rare people they had both the GP950 and C2 42” like SpawnPoint. Here my take. Long read:
Pixel density on the GP950 is better simply because it’s a smaller screen. The colors may look flattered but the image looks crispier compared to the C2 42” imo. You’ll really notice it if you been gaming on monitor for years like myself. The monitor matted while the tv glossy. Personally I prefer glossy. Wishfully I wish the GP950 had a glossy option. The C2 42” will completely take over your desk space. I can no longer multitask while gaming on the C2 42”. Using my laptop becomes an issue because I’m sitting farther away from my desk because of the C2 size. HDR is 1000x better on the C2 for every game. On the GP950 HDR is decent and good but not for Auto HDR enabled games imo. So leaving it off might be your best option for Auto HDR games. Everything comes down to the size of your setup and what you want out of it.

Your reason for not wanting to use the 42" as main monitor is Exactly the same reason that got me to this video in the first place. I am also confused, for competitive gaming I Love my 1440p monitor, but for single player games with badass graphics 42" is just not inmersive enough, let's say compare to a 55 or 60". Is funny, so many people ask for a smaller lg version of the C1 and now that's available it just doesn't make sense in terms of it's size. Too big for main desk monitor, too small to seat back on the couch several feet away. Also at 4k you don't really appreciate those details at that size unless you seat very close to the monitor, I guess that's where having that 55" or bigger comes in, although the price difference is huge. I am actually considering getting a refurbished C1 65" for $1600 at this point

i already have a big oled tv with 120hz, as for a monitor i need something small(er) and preferably with a high(er) refresh rate.
i guess when 4k oled monitors (not tvs) with 144 or more hz will become 'a thing' and affordable i will finally also go oled on the monitor side. I reckon it will happen in 2024 around the time the RTX 50 GPUs will come out.

Honestly a lot of shooters let you reposition the UI elements. You can just move them closer to the center of the screen and crank up the FOV and it is effectively like playing on a smaller monitor but just having added peripheral vision.
Often it is called something like "adjust safe zone" or something similar to that. In Halo infinite I think it is called something like UI margins. Some games limit how far you can move the UI, but in a lot of shooters you can either mitigate or completely eliminate any negative impact of having the UI elements too far away. And gain a competitive advantage from being able to comfortably crank your FOV higher than you otherwise would be able to.
