Truly, your content is just proof to how talented and passionate you are. Always a joy seeing your videos! I hope to bump into you in the verse one day! Thank you for all your hard work, it is noticed and very much appreciated!
I am a citizen of New Babbage, I like the convenience that exists there, for now this is where I shall call home. Thank you for your hard work and see you in the Verse.
I have been playing only a year and your perspective is exactly why i enjoy Star Citizen. The game is rich in art, gaming loops, lore, and flight. Tomato shows us these elements and adds his basic to the unique mix - adventure, hope and instruction. The universe is vast and dangerous. Tomato helps to make sense of it all and shows us it’s beauty. Thank you Tomato.
Crusader also has, by far, the best music in the game. I let my brother play my copy of the game and he flew into Crusader's atmosphere, and as soon as Orison was visible the choral part kicked in, and my brother was impressed: "that music is not a coincidence." Yep, they timed it just right. So good.
Found that one of the best way to sometimes experience SC's planets is to do something diffrent. In my case flying around randomly and then dropping in an Ursa and see where i end up with no need to for a way back. Only forward, to Go Explore!
ArcCorp, Crusader and Microtech are located at what seems to be the farthest edges of the Stanton system, but ArcCorp and Microtech look to be the best locations for provisioning a character and ship, with I believe ArcCorp being the better of the two. For the new player the main advantage Hurston has is its central (more or less) location within the Stanton system, but as indicated by S.T., it has its limitations. I chose Crusader/Orison for no good reason than it's location (per Arc Map) to the Pyro jump gate and view, but like Hurston it has limitations.
My personal favourite starting zone is ArcCorp for the simple reason that it lets me get my cyberpunk on. I think it has great potential as a huge cyberpunk playground if they develop it right.
New Babbage, microTech is my home. It has the best facilities for ground vehicles, accessible conveniently from the spaceport and the Commons. Hurston also has ground terminals, but just not as convenient to use as in New Babbage, thinking loading vehicles to ships.
Ha! my char was in your video or its twin. Excellent video too on scale , distance and travel. This is what, as far as travel is concerened, sets SC apart from ED and it makes a tremendous difference.
The early shot was daymar, great video. I made microtech my home when I started a month ago and have no regrets, except my laptop can't handle the city lol.
They're actively working on this, it's one of the main reasons we don't have orbiting planets yet as they need people to be able to travel to where the planet will be, rather than where it is
I love how well put together your videos are with the video editing and sounds and how the images/videos you use generally fit what your talking about.
The only thing I do wish they'd do, is pull moons in sometimes. It's fine if they're way out there sometimes, but just look at our own moon. It's exponentially closer to Earth than any moon in Star Citizen. Not every moon has to be massive either. CIG could save time and development by making some Moons smaller by half the size as well. Not every moon needs to be exactly the same size. Would be awesome to find some moons far far closer to the home planet, get some really nice spacescape shots going as well as planets and moons that orbit each other in close proximity. I'm sure, or at least hope we'll get this stuff later.
Just wanted to say something. You should challenge Avenger One to battle soemeone with a Prospector, Mole and two different cargo ships against someone else in a fully decked out fighter to see if all his talk and skills can help him win the fight. That'll stop his excuses for defending pirates and grieves and it would be great gameplay.
@@SpaceTomato Actually meant him in a Trading and a Mining ship trying to defend against anybody in a good fighter as a challenge so he can see the reality of what is suggesting i.e defending your Trading or Mining ship against an experienced fighting ship. He might change his tune!
Quality video. My personal choice of late has been Area 18. Good selection of shops there and in orbit, as well as the L1. Keep up the top notch work, and thanks for your talent.
This was fantastic. You should create a playlist for overviews of systems and planets and maybe even locations. As new places come out it would be a fantastic reference.
Probably gonna call Microtech home to begin with and do some exploration and courier missions, then go to Crusader for mining operations. Might go to Arctech if anything there interests me, honestly I'll have to check out the hubs in game before I can truly make my decision but I am in love with the aesthetic of New Babbage and Orison!
I recommend Area 18 as your new home in SC. Of course, I am biased as 18 is my home. You have a Casaba's, Cubby Blast, Dumper's Depot and a starship shop. Most everything you need is here. The starter missions aren't too bad, either.
"Just around the corner" don't really deliver the proper 1+ year expectation for Pyro... but nonetheless, great video on the subject and the additional material on it is something really cool other content creators should at least consider.
@@SpaceTomato Would love bunker missions put into the depths of the Arc Corp city. It honestly could be done relatively easy in even a hack job sort of fashion and still believable. Just copy paste the current bunkers at random spots around Arc Corp. Put a landing pad like we already have, and keep the same elevator in a room through a door at the landing pad.. bam.. You got yourself bunkers in the depths of Arc Corp city.
hey i believe the link in your description for your infographics is broken. The I being capital after the / in "Infographics" should be lower case to "infographics". That fixed it for me. Love the content :)
Great video. Thanks! Honestly, I think you ought to point out the level of detail CIG puts into ... well.. everything. The E:D community just got another blow from their devs, where their no. 1 issue (texture tiling on planets) has just has been answered NO. I think a lot of possible new citizens are susceptible to the level of attention CIG puts into every single thing... Could use some pronunciation from your side I think ;)
That was a problem with SC planets for awhile, I think it took 4 different versions before the planets really reached a more believable level, still a problem at times though! That being said, the detail of this game is something to highlight. I'll get to work on something like that.
So if things are scaled instead of 1:1 does that mean increased travel time should be taken into account when writing SC fiction? Or is the implication more that ships in any fiction would be way faster than those in the game and travel times would be the same?
@@SpaceTomato Ah bummer, I'll check Spectrum or see if "fiction writing guide" is the phrase my Google Fu was missing. Thanks for the help, dude! You kick ass!! :D

I did point out that ArcCorp has great shops. I've learned through introducing people to the game out is not a good idea to point them to mission givers initially as they aren't as reliable as regular activities.
@@anno-fw7xn Aye, Announcing Pyro as the next star system or stating that it's in active development is not the same thing as saying it's "around the corner". I have no issue at all with peeps expressing honest criticism of the process or the developer but I really prefer to see any hyperbole, exaggeration or misinformation left out of it. I believe one should expect around the corner in game development time tables to be months away at minimum anyway. (CIG is also using a quarterly patch schedule)

I enjoyed the video - actually learned things about the planet scale / ship speed that has bothered me... good to have answers :)
