    Hey guys glad you liked this video! I just did another video on this using raw organic honey instead of sugar. Check it out!
    • Grow your own Probioti...
    The probiotics sold in pharmacy stores are freeze dried. Which means they are not activated. I think it is best to grow my own probiotic bacteria in my kitchen. They are live and ready to be consumed.
    For me I had to use a good probiotics as a starter. It is best to get as much variety of good bacteria as possible in a capsule in a good product. You can get a bottle of an inexpensive but good probiotics to start farming!
    Consider getting it here:
    amzn.to/2G7okwu
    Probiotic bacteria is important to our health. They help to digest foods and also crowd out the bad bacteria, mold, fungus and yeast in our digestive system.
    Below are the simple ingredients and items I use:
    900ml glass jar. (use a BPA-free plastic lid)
    fruits of any kind that you like
    Apple cider vinegar (about 3 spoonful)
    Raw organic sugar (about 4 spoonful)
    and Water filled up till 4/5 of the glass bottle)
    1 capsule of probiotic
    Probiotic Bacteria loves sugar. Feed them and they will grow.
    Take care of them in your kitchen and they'll take good care of you!

    You created a very very strong acidic medium with 4 TSP of vinegar. That would actually kill most beneficial bacteria. Use just a few drops of them next time. All the bacteria needs is sugar and it makes its own acids later.

    I like this idea. I think that the dry probiotics in the probiotic capsules are being activated and ready to help digestion as soon as it is consumed. Also, the probiotics will have multiplied to a higher count. The dry probiotic capsules are not even awake after leaving the stomach. I am going to try this out for sure.

    Nice job! Thank you very much for your posting. So, does it sometimes take more than 3 days to start to get bubbles? Also, what would you say it should smell like when it's working right? Does it have a neutral smell or does it smell like vinegar?

    • @afzainizamzahari
      @afzainizamzahari  6 років тому +1

      It really depends on the temperature and constituents in the jar. If the condition is right, the probiotic bacteria can replicate fast and lots of bubbles will be produced. The smell would depend on how much apple cider vinegar there is in there. The amount that I used was not a lot, so after 3 days it smells somewhat fruity. Depends on the type of fruits you put in as well.

    Can someone with knowledge help me with a question that I cannot get answered...I'm hoping that the old saying, "there's no such thing as a stupid question" still stands....So...I am new to fermenting, and started with yogurt making...I used whole milk and plain yogurt as a culture...It set well, and had medium tartness, and produced good whey...All is good...As I forged on I began to read postings of people who had trouble doing the exact thing I did...My question is, "How do I know my yogurt has is rich in probiotics?" Is it the tartness, I don't know...Your video shows evidence of probiotic growth, but with milk there isn't any visual...Now maybe I'm being too analytical....Any answers? Thank you and GREAT video..Your content and style are beautiful!

    • @square_jane
      @square_jane 5 років тому +1

      Yes, the tart sour taste indicates the presence of probiotic bacteria. Others that are having trouble may not be using a good quality yogurt as a starter, or their fermenting temperature isn't warm enough. I've been off dairy for a number of years but when I used to make yogurt I would start with a good quality plain yogurt (no gelatin added). I would ferment the batch in my oven overnight with the oven light on to maintain a warm consistent temperature.

      add more water (leaving 1/5th of the container empty still, to allow room for gas build up) and as much sugar as you feel is necessary, too much might make it ferment very fast, causing more gas build up, causing the need to "burp" it more, but too little and it'll ferment slower and less.

    Do You know why good bacteria levels decrease after You stop taking probiotics, and also around 90% of bacteria die in stomach before they reach intestines. How to prevent that, and overall how to make probiotics effect more permanent?

    • @afzainizamzahari
      @afzainizamzahari  6 років тому +2

      after you stop taking probiotics, all sorts of bacteria will still continue to live in your body. When you go to the toilet 1/3 of what comes out is bacteria. There is no way to prevent bacteria dying in your stomach. The type of foods we eat matters. Sweet sugary foods are what bacteria love to feed on. If there's more bad bacteria in your body, they will grow even more. Eating fermented foods will help to promote better digestion because the bacteria present in fermented foods will help to break down other foods that we have eaten that are in our body.These bacteria are the ones that help our bodies stay healthy. We have to consume good whole foods and also fermented fruits and vegetables. If possible, stay away from processed foods altogether.
      There is no way to make the effects of probiotics permanent without consuming good fermented fruits and vegetables. Even drinking just good apple cider vinegar everyday will help our bodies.

    Hi Afzainizam Zahari,
    Thanks for the video. I would like to know after the fermenting portion, how would we know the strains in the probiotic capsule would exist in our mixture?
    I was thinking if the other bacteria in the environment would overpower the strains from capsule that we want. Thank you so much.

    • @afzainizamzahari
      @afzainizamzahari  6 років тому

      You have to look out for black mould. That is the bad guy that we don't want to consume. ever. Make sure the bottle is closed all the time. You will know the original bacteria from the probiotics capsule has brown in numbers when you see the mixture is now bubbly. Don't worry about other bacteria in the air that might get in there.

    • @tresnosantosolee9080
      @tresnosantosolee9080 5 років тому

      From what I know, good bacteria from air can also ferment the fruit mix without having the mold come into the picture. When my mixture gets bubbly, how am I sure that the microbes in my drink are from the capsules and not the strains in the air?
      Thats what I really want to know. Thank you for your time. :)

    At what quantity do the bacteria multiply?

    • @afzainizamzahari
      @afzainizamzahari  6 років тому +1

      Fred Bread you can keep to the same amount of sugar. Chances are there few viable bacteria in each capsules. These “few” bacteria are all we need to make them replicate into more bacteria. The more capsules you put in, the better the chances of the fermentation process happening much faster.

    Can the apple cider vinegar be omitted if we only have probiotic supplements? Can fresh lemon juice be used instead of apple cider vinegar and probiotic supplements? Can fresh squeeze fruit juice or dried fruit be used to replace the sugar? 😊

    • @afzainizamzahari
      @afzainizamzahari  7 років тому +1

      Hi! I am not sure, all I know is that the "mother" inside the apple cider is the starter for the probiotic bacteria to do its job. You can try to experiment without using apple cider. Let me know how it turns out! Also it is best to use fruits that are very very ripe and has a lot of sugar content in it because that's what the bacteria needs. If the fruit is not very ripe there is a need to add more sugar. Dried fruit usually has a lot of sugars in it so yes, that will be able to replace the sugars. Try it out and see if it works. :)

    Good bacteria feed on inulin and fiber bound non refined sugars. Adding refined sugar to this means you are more likely to feed your candida than establish a healthy gut. Try adding garden of life inulin and at most 1/2tbsp honey or rice syrup/coconut sugar next time. Bet you notice a big difference in effect.
