    Hey beautiful people,
After 3 years I am still getting daily comments and responses to this vdo from literally every corner of this planet and it is beautiful, heartwarming and motivating. Thank you all for this.
Many people ask if the plastic bottles don´t leech harmfull chemmies. I am no expert but would say it would be better to brew in glass bottles but this makes it more difficult and less accessible to many people. If you have glass bottles and airlocks etc then go ahead and use them. Just make sure there is not much air in the bottle and make sure you can still shake or agitate the liquid.
If you have no glass bottles but still want to benefit from probiotics then just use plastic. For me the benefits outweigh the possible negative effects of possible leeching plastic.
Besides this, many people might not use it for human consumption but for the many other purposes.
For the people who ask about the contents of the micro organisms and vitamins and minerals: I am not sure if the scientific research is done yet but here is an estimate from my teacher Takashi Hirasawi which can be found on the lacto-life.com website:
    COMPONENTS
LACTO contains more than 80 kinds of bacteria (*3) and more than 60
kinds of nutrients. Some of the nutrients in LACTO are extracted from
brown rice, and some of them are produced by the bacteria growing in the
culture. The amount of bacteria and nutrients will depend on the
culture conditions and, in comparison with normal food and drinks, the
nutrients in LACTO have been already digested by bacteria breaking them
down to be fully and easily absorbed into the body.
    BACTERIA (MICROORGANISMS) found in LACTO
Lactic Acid Bacteria: Lactobacillus. Yeast: Saccharomyces
Cerevisiae, Kouji Bacteria (Aspergillus) Acetic Acid Bacteria
(Acetobacster), Bacillus Subtilis, Butyric Acid Bacteria (Clostridium
Butyricum) Actinobacteria, Cyanobacteria, Phototrophic Bacteria and
    Enzymes.
    NUTRIENTS(*4) found in LACTO
    Carbohydrate
    Starch (Amylose, Amylopectin)
    Fiber
    Soluble dietary fiber: Oryzabran
    Insoluble dietary fiber: Arabinoxylan
GAG (Glycosaminoglycan): Chondroitin Sulfate, Hyaluronic Acid, RBA/RBF
    Protein (Amino acid)
Essential: Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Valine
Non essential: Alanine, Arginine, Aspartic Acid, Cysteine, Glutamic
Acid, Glycine, Ornithine, Proline, Selenocysteine, Serine, Tyrosine
Peptide, Cytokine (Phytohormone, Peptide), Nisin (Bacteriocin, Peptide)
    DNA, RNA, GABA
    Lipid
    Complex Lipid: Sphingolipid (Ceramide)
Fatty Acid: ω-6 Linolenic acid/ω-9 Olenic acid
SCFA: Short Chain Fatty Acids, Lactic Acid, Acetic Acid, Formic Acid,
Propionic Acid, Butyric Acid, Oryzanol-Ferulic Acid (Phytochemical), Sitosterol (Phytosterol)
    Vitamin
Vitamin B1 (Thiamin), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (Niacin),
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid), Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine), Vitamin B9=M
(Folic Acid), Vitamin B12 (Hydroxycobalamine) PABA (4-Aminobenzoic
Acid), Vitamin E (Tocopherols, Tocotrienols), Vitamin H (Biotin), K
    Inositol IP6 (Myo-Inositol-6/Phytic Acid)
    Mineral
Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Manganese, Selenium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Zinc
*1. Probiotics are microorganisms that provide health benefits to humans and animals.
*2. The amount of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) in LACTO can be 1 - 10
million/ml when the process of LACTO has finished with lower acidity
    level than pH3.6.
*3. Bacteria, mold and yeast belong to microorganisms family. When we
use the term bacteria in LACTO-LIFE, it’s actually considered
microorganisms including mold and yeast. We call them ‘bacteria’ instead
of microorganisms because we use mainly the features and effects of
Lactic Acid Bacteria, and the bacteria is more popular and easy to call
    and understand.
*4 These nutrients are inferred from the nutrients of brown rice and
bacteria. We are going to update the measured components after the
    scientific research has concluded.

This is a common food for us in southern part of India. We pour water in the left over cooked rice in a mud pot and next day morning its ready as breakfast. Just add some sea salt and yogurt and enjoy with some fresh raw pearl onions and fresh green chilly.

      Both are different bacteria.
One that's in the air is what ferments cooked, it's way less concentration. Here it's the batteries on the river, is way more concentrated.

I love this video ! I've made it here in Thailand several times now...and, the BEST use for it , I've found, is as a skin tonic. It's really great for my skin . I just spray it on after my shower. Amazing stuff. Of course I drink it, too. I have some "brewing" now. Sooooo easy. Thanks for this great video , it changed my life ! I've made sauerkraut, kimchi, water kefir, kombucha etc for years but this stuff is amazing !

Great video! I am a researcher for a company who makes cleaning products, and consumption products, from more 'fancy added bacteria' than Lacto. BUT, I know this make it expensive for most people to purchase. SO, for people to make this at home, clean with it, drink it, promote a more healthy home, bring the good microbes back into our lives, I hope more people can ferment this themselves, and stop using harsh chemicals with antiseptic properties. Your method and 'product?' is All-Natural, Wonderful! These bacteria truly can clean, it is almost unbelievable, but they really do. Great video and hope more people see it! :)

I have just made this and found a great way to keep it at the right temperature. The cable box from your cable subscriber belongs to them so there is no worry about ruining it. Just put the bottle on top of the box and the low level heat will warm it up to the right temperature. If it is too hot put the bottle on something so that the heat dissipates before it hits the bottle. Trial and error will work here and a thermometer.

Awesome stuff. Mix half and half with soy sauce. We use gallon jugs and let sit in the shade for two weeks. Best soy sauce ever! Mix that fermented soy sauce with banana sauce and it makes a great bbq sauce ... or better yet, before adding the banana sauce add a cup of your favorite diced chili and let sit for another week, then add the banana sauce. That’s incredible bbq sauce! The naturally occurring umami in this fermented liquid is the bomb. Cooking with it will take your dishes to another level. Can’t say enough good about this stuff. @@healthyrootsstrongwings538 I first watched your video about a year or so ago and have been experimenting ever since. I like to add 100ml of the rice ferment to 750ml of tang before breakfast and after dinner. Black rice has worked best for our needs. It ferments super fast at first, much faster than brown rice did, but never quite makes it to a vinegar acid level, smells more like a nice cooking wine. After I harvest it, I used to add 100ml of ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) to each 1 liter glass bottle and fill it up with the lacto ferment and let it go for another couple weeks. Recently I switched from adding ACV to adding CSV (Coconut Sap Vinegar) because a liter of ACV cost me about 8 times as much as the CSV and eventually I’ll be able to make my own. We planted a small coconut orchard this year 😊 We also planted our own black rice field ‘cause we are trying to be self-sufficient 😉

@@healthyrootsstrongwings538 oh, I forgot to mention, if you eat white rice, soak it overnight 2 parts rice, 2 parts water, 1 part rice lacto ferment. It will ferment your rice a bit and eat away most of the loose starches. We don’t rinse the rice in the morning, just drain and cook as normal. Usually after eating white rice your teeth feel sticky, but our soaked rice leaves your teeth feeling clean and tastes better, and it’s more nutritious since the fermenting makes more nutrients more bio available. We also feed our pigs and chickens cooked soaked grains using the same process, and they seem to grow bigger and healthier and love the food.

+Listen and Learn English Hey guys and thanks for the message :)
You could make a system with an airlock or a balloon for sure. I have thought about making a tumbler with a glass "carboy" bottle. You could cap it for the tumbling and then put the airlock on top.
Make sure though not to have much air in the bottle because then you'll get a yeasty layer on top.
Towards the end of the brewing process you could put a cap on to allow some fizzy Ness to develope :)

Thank you so much for this great tutorial! I am so grateful! I was searching for directions to make my own EM 1 to make my own bokashi flakes after I bought a comercial EM 1 brand and returned it after reading the ingredient list. I learned that some lactobacillus help you gain weight and some strains help you loose weight. The only lactobacillus on the label of the commercial EM1 was a weight gaining strain :0 I don't want to spread that strain all over my garden! I've been using your recipe on a larger scale in glass carboys with an air lock, but I add a few capsules of KyoDophilus 9 to give those strains a head start. I'm injured so I can't shake my bottle at all or excercise so I really need those slimming bacteria!. I've found that it's pretty easy to just tip the carboy on edge and roll it, no need to remove the airlock, but I usually am only able to do that a few times at the beginning. I've also been adding the same amount of sugar at the end and letting it go for another week in attempt to make it more concentrated. This stuff is amazing!!!! I tried it taking the rust off some garden tools that accidentally overwintered in the dirt WOW! Also My son went on a mt. bike trip and got 3 white shirts really stinky and muddy. Somehow they were left in a pile for 9 months + before they were found all crusted together looking like garbage. I thought I would see what your Lacto would do so I soaked them for 24 hour then put them through the washing machine without soap so I could see the Lacto effect isolated and they came out GLEAMING white as if I used bleach (I would never!). I'm still searching for the recipe for EM1, it looks like it was once easily found online from a single link on hawaiianhealingtree but that link is now broken. Until then I will be drinking your double brewed lacto and making my bokashi flakes with it! Thanks again!

      @sanojdeepak4287 4 роки тому

@@febiaivy4702 the benefits far outweigh the harm. Lactobacillus strives in anerobic (no oxygen) conditions. Other bacterias perish. You can either use glass with airlock or plastic. Using glass, you have to pump out the air or supplement with bacteria from previous batch or live strains from capsules available in market. If all the oxygen is not removed, you have to add some apple cider vinegar too. That will prevent other contamination at initial stages when the colony is at its weakest. Later on lactobacillus will overpower any other pathogens.
With plastic it's very easy and cost effective. If you can afford glass. Go for it.

+jecriggs no worries jecriggs. I'm no fan of whey and yuckie mixtures with milk etc. Share with your friends or anybody who might benefit. Once you get good and brewing you can also teach others
To spray you chickens and their coop I'd use a dilution of between 1-10%. For deodorizing yourself you can use the same mix. Take a long bath in it or spray a dilution in a plant spray bottle. (A while long I made Deo mix with essential oils)
To spray in garbage bin or clean toilet etc you can do 10%.
For compost you can do 10-100%. Make mixture and soak your green waste in it before composting or pour over your compost pile before covering it.
Good luck, Happy brewing and please report back to share your findings :)

There is no hard and fast rule. It will survive at lesser nutrients too and with excess nutrition, it will take it up in next batch. The only thing that prevents you from enjoying it's wonderful benefits is if you don't ferment it. The chances of failure is very marginal. Thats why lactobacillus fermentation has been around since thousands of years in different cultures.

Did this finally and loving it. But i had to start with small batch i had 500ml bottle only. 4 batches done, first batch the balloon didnt bloat much. Next one was good and tasted better. May be it took time to activate. 2 batches i tried with white sugar, same rice. Its also tasty. Got a bigger bottle now, started the first batch today.

      Hi Kay,
Depends a bit on you and what you want to achieve.
In the time I made that video I drank a good cup with every meal. Now I live in a colder country and just made my last brew a week back.
Now I drink a mug with water and some lemon in the morning.
Just start with a shotglas and observe the effects. Then you can take more. Just listen to your body.
Happy brewing and let us know how you go :)

Hello. You are probably not monitoring this comment section but perhaps someone can answer a question for me.
I followed your instructions but by half. I was so proud when I saw it working. The smell was pretty strong but I burped the lacto regularly waiting for the magic day. Perhaps I should not have waited so long....7 days...half recipe. On the 7th day I was ready to bottle. When I looked at the mixing bottle a light brown yeast substance had formed at the top of that bottle. It also smelled like bread yeast. I didn't want to throw it out so I used some for cleaning with and saved the majority for plants. I saved out 1/4 cup to drink, adding juice of 1 small lemon. So far I am not dead so I guess it is ok. But what was the brown yeast stuff? It coated the very top of the water line. (I burped the water line up to the top of the mixing bottle each time I shook the mixing bottle, to keep all air out. But then a short while after each burp the bottle would expand and there would be air at the top again.) Did I do something wrong? Thank you in advance.

    • @healthyrootsstrongwings538
      @healthyrootsstrongwings538  5 років тому

      Hi there Dottie,
Normally if you shake twice a day then it shouldn't create gunk on top.
Could it be that the cap was somehow letting air in or something?
Keep experimenting and thanks for sharing your experience :)

    • @dottielensset7138
      @dottielensset7138 5 років тому

@@healthyrootsstrongwings538 I am thinking there are two things I did wrong. The cap is a big issue because each time I burped the gas out the bottle indented but then soon popped back out. So, it seems air had to be seeping back in for the plastic to pop back out. And there would then be a mass of air at the top of the bottle again. That bottle must be retired.
Second, I started out with store bought mineral water but when burping the gas and losing water I replaced the lost amount of water with plain filtered water. I am not so sure the filter did such a good job of filtering. So much for the filtered water. I will stock up on only the store bought (natural spring) water until I find a filter I can trust.
      Starting new batch today.
On the lacto I saved for plants, how much does it need to be diluted?
I have watched the videos over and over but I feel I am missing something. Are there any new videos coming out soon?

    • @healthyrootsstrongwings538
      @healthyrootsstrongwings538  5 років тому

      @@dottielensset7138 Hi there,
Just make sure that after shaking and the bubbles have settled down that you squeeze all the "air" or gas out.
Just experiment a bit. Quality of rice is more important than the water.
Worst case scenario you'll waste some rice and salt and explode a bottle :p
Good luck and Make sure to share your findings :)

When you're done, make a second bottle (BPA free), and add some brewer's yeast instead of salt and wait 4 days.
Add hops, or fruit (when you drink it) and you'll have a nice Kvass (very light beer-ish beverage low in ethanol).

Use the appropriate weight as a table spoon of keltic salt might way more or less than sea salt or pink salt.
Fancy salt is nice as there are more minerals in it. These will get processed by the bacteria and in turn become more bioavailable for us :)

Not sure what you want to tell your doctor or why you visit yours. You are making your own probiotics that's all. The subject to pro and prebiotocs is becoming more studied and science is learning more and more.
Depending on how up to date your doctor is they might not even know what it is not what it can do for us.

Hi Elme! No worries at all :) No need to wash the rice but make sure it is organic brown rice from good quality (freshnes). So far I had good results with the kind of rice you can buy in a vacuum sealed brick. When I was in the Netherlands last year I got some Italian brown rice which worked really well too.
If you only intend to do a one time brew instead of continuously brewing then you could use the basic method as explained on the lacto-life.com website. In this case you wash and scrub the rice thoroughly and use the water while you can still eat the rice later.
Good luck and stay tuned for another fermentation video we will upload later this week:

This is both fun and beautiful!
I use it to make a quick compost and other good things like treating my teeth or the skin of my washed hands to replace the killed good lactobacyllus on my skin. A rainbow sister of mine claimed that lacto is a quick remedy if too many thaughts swirl around in her head. I believe that it relaxes the mind-but I have kept it to myself that it might need a few days of drinking lacto on a regular basis to have it really happen. In her case, there might have been some involuntary self hypnosis or autosuggestion involved-but I didn't want to spoil the effect by stating that opinion. If so, she was her own remedy-and the lacto will relax her mind on the long run.
