Mercedes E-Class review - no big batteries in sight, and all the better for it

- The Mercedes E-Class might seem a little old fashioned, but there's a reason it's been in Merc's range for nearly 70 years. Come with Jordan Katsianis as he drives the all-new 11th generation model fitted with the brilliant four-cylinder diesel engine, proving that sometimes in the quest for efficiency, diesel just makes more sense, and when fitted to a new E-Class is just so damn good at transporting you and your family in comfort and safety.

excellent choice of background music
Those wheels are at least 2" too big, and the all screen dashboard is hideous imho, it just doesn't give off a luxury vibe anymore. I think it looks goid but would be better without the fake exhausts and with a traditional grill and star on the bonnet, which might be available in some trims if it's like before. A 4 pot diesel is taxi spec and the straight 6 diesels are amazing engines
He ‘talks’ just the same as any other car reviewer, very informative, thank you
9:29 The G80 from Genesis isn’t petrol only. There’s the 2.5T petrol yes but there’s also a 2.2 diesel in the range plus the BEV.
New Mercedes E class is absolutely beautiful.I test drove it and loved it❤️
I enjoyed watching the Video Review, more stylish than the New BMW 5 Series 😊
The Audi A6 holds up pretty well. The dual screen cockpit still looks futuristic and in black edition spec it looks the business.
Agreed.
Nah
Finally, finally a non EV new car...and a diesel to boot
BMW cocked up by not bringing any diesels in the new 5 series
BMW clocked up by making the 5 series incredibly ugly.
@@PlazmaBooy That Merc front end though, and the grille makes it look like a bad Merc imitation
@@GaryJohnWalker1 true. I think the peak of car design was between 2016-2019. After that cars have either gone too far form their roots, or they're too bold and strange.
Looks massive. Bet it handles like a barge.
He actually said, in the video, that it doesn't
Did you even watch it?
Plenty of bots in here today…what’s with all the big knockers profile photos they give them though lol
4:47 seems to contradict the title.
the new e and 5 series are too big now
Sorry ur opinion on styling is irrelevant, economy Diesel costs more so what are the mpg ? Review lacked real data felt a bit of a lazy review
😊
Exhaust tail pipes look fake. Wheels are too large for opening. Dashboard is somewhat dated. Seats are hard, therefore sitting for extended time, hurts bottom and lower back.
All the newer Merc designs just look so chintzy now, inside and out! That Merc class died out a long time ago.
For the S Class, the rot set in with the W220. Ir wasn't fit to lick the W140's boots.
@@martinogold indeed!
Why do all car reviewer use "i think the designer sneezed when..." (in this case, the rear lights)? Come on guys it was slightly amusing 5 years ago, surely you can come up with something newer? Script writers of the motoring world unite and come up with some new puns please (it just sounds lazy now).
The EQE (Mercedes) is a much better option in every way as long as you don’t drive hundreds of kms every day, which is the vast majority of people.
The average distance people drive from home to work is just from 30 to 60 kilometers (20 to 40 miles) per day. Charging just one day per week is more than enough.
Furthermore, EVs offer benefits like much lower operating costs and reduced taxes, reduced emissions, amazing performance and a very smooth driving experience.
If most people drive that much of a distance, wouldn't the e300 e be a better option?
The new e300e offer around 60-65miles on a charge.
Why buy the eqe then?
Great review. I drive a S212 which I love - physical controls for everything. This new E Class has (imo) a Korean nose and a Chevvy tail - pity.
And will probably last longer... My S212 is on 400k miles and sweet. I also bought a newer S213, it's very nice to be in, but so many issues with it I've had to fix at large expense. The 212 I have spent 200 quid on repairs in the 4 years I have had it and I bought it with 305k on the clock. The 213 only has 115k on it and lots of issues. Failed rockers, failed air suspension, a failed headlight, failed rear sensors, and when the timing chain needs doing it's an engine out job and £1500+
@@SteveN-pw4dj Interesting. My car did have a problem with the (rear) air suspension bags leaking, though intermittently (not uncommon with the S212). Then the compressor (which had been working overtime) failed, and took out a major fuse with it. The total repair was expensive, but some of that was down to me not replacing the air bags sooner. In every other respect the car continues to be brilliant.
A real car not a ev washing machine that looks like a car
69k 😂 sorry but NO.
Meh!
Yikes, I subscribed BECAUSE you reviewed an ev
People don't care about EV's 😂
@@youtubed9695but they care about diesel? 😂
@@OneGuyPolitics diesel or petrol absolutely.. they don't spontaneously blow up and hold thier value a million times better than a EV does plus manufacture of EV's is 6 times more harmful to the plant compared to a ice car and the slave labour of mining materials to make batteries is despicable I couldn't support any production of EV's if you are good person you wouldn't either
@@youtubed9695 Ev technology is just started taking off, like any new thing, time is needed for refinement. And yes, most EV manufacturing produces more harm to the "plant", but after 30,000 miles of driving carbon emissions equal out and the EVs become more sustainable.
And in any capitalistic model, there is corruption.
If you were truly a good person, you wouldn't be typing on the device you are using to comment that post as it was most likely created by child labor.
Plus, ICE vehicles create cancerous vapors that cause birth defects and we just let them drive around in our cities.
@@OneGuyPolitics Absolutely I do!
Who let this guy review this car?! Such a moaner! He needs to be doing something else pls. Totally puts you off this beautiful car.
👎🏽 for the presenter.
Benz rule them all.....here in Jamaica 🇯🇲 and across the globe.
Id rather have an EV than a 4 cylinder...... especially a diesel
Yes till it has a fault and telephone number size bill to repair it or it explodes and kills you or your family god forbid I am a mechanic forty year trained on evs they are a scam don't waste your money or put your family in danger government is pushing evs giving grants to buy when has the government done anything good for you wake up
You talk too much
Yes. That's what online journalists do. It's their job.
He talks very fast
Brilliant point! I prefer silent car reviews. Maybe he could mime?
@@craigyirush3492 😂 Brilliantly put!
So… I guess you did not get a chance to talk. I mean don’t you just hate a person who dominate conversations.
Jokes, in my opinion, it would have more polite if you stated that you felt he talked too much because for other that might not be the case.
That’s said this is my opinion, you are still free to do what you want. Maybe you did not want to be polite and you had another agenda.
i hate automobile channel which shows no importance to rear seat comfort
