I was hoping you’d do a demo of this amp! Great vid as always, the amount of effort put in the audio demos and production is really remarkable! Thanks for your videos Jon!
I’ve had the ir-j for a couple of weeks now ( ordered the day it came out ) and it sounds incredible just like you hear here . I’ve also owned a syn-1 for quite a while , which is great and well worth the investment. I don’t see Friedman doing any signature amps for Synergy it wouldn’t really make much business sense apart from anything else . Just grab the ir-j like I did you won’t regret it
Can't get enough from the sounds of metal part with the passive pickups... It sounds really great! Wonderful video for a wonderful amp! It's always a pleasure to listen to your guitar playing! 😊
Great demo. FYI, there is no point toggling the bright switches with the gain all the way up. The bright switches are switching input bright cap values,,,,once you have your gain control past 3 o'clock they are effectively out of circuit. So the switches won't do anything. As you drop the gain, the effect of the bright switch will become more and more dramatic. 👍🤘
@ Shame on you! 😆 It’s Jake E Lee on Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘Killer of Giants’ from the ‘Ultimate Sin album’. Go and check that out NOW! It’s a fantastic song. 😊
It sounds great here, but like the 20w version, it will sound much better with the volumes pushed way higher than that and the preamps dialed back a bit, especially if you're looking for more 80s and plexi-type tones and not modern tones.
From my perspective: I think it's not an amp that needs to be cranked super loud in order for it to sound good. It also sounds really good at lower levels
@@SonicDriveStudio I wonder if it's like the JEL20 then - while it does sound great at bedroom levels, it really comes alive when it's opened up more. I'm hoping the 50 has more of a sweet spot before it compresses too much, which is my one gripe on the 20. I'll need to go try it for myself and see if it can replace my 50w plexi clone for band use.
I’m getting strong Stone Temple Pilots vibes from this amp. Very 70s yet high gain with no scoop. But then that distorted 8 string part sounded perfect somehow?! The only times it sounded off to me were the thrash and alt metal ones where the scoop is part of the sound.
Very crisp. Would you ever consider doing comparison videos for different pedals and effects? I feel like your style of factual detail and extremely high quality samples would make that very interesting Sorry if you have already done this by the way, I searched a few in your channel and didn’t find any so that could be my mistake
Dude what would be your desert island amp, something that could do everything from nice cleans to heavy riffs! I might use your answer as buyer's guide since you already tested so many in your channel haha cheers , great content as always

Love the clarity of the amp

Thanks so much!
Sounds perfect to me. Not muddy, but clear higain. Wonderful. It would be marvelous if at some point in time they release a synergy preamp version.

Thanks! And yeah, that's how that works :)
Had no idea that's what happens. Thanks!
That amps been on my bucket list, thanks for helping me live vicariously through you.
Killer amp and playing as always \m/
Love the demo man, can’t wait to receive mine , is on the way 🥵!!!! I’m exited for this amp!! Great video rock on 🤘🏻
Thanks! Congrats, you'll love it!
Hell of job demoing this amp this was freaking awesome sounds fantastic with everything you threw at it!🤟🏻
Thank you! It rocks!
The eclipse with the 57's sounds amazing!
Loved ALL the playing in this!!
You're awesome mate! 💪😎🎸👌
Thanks so much mate, I really appreciate it!
Already a perfect fit for Heavy Legends Vol 3 😎
Great review! 🤘
Cheers!
This is by far the best video you‘ve ever done, Bravo! 🎉 and the amp sounded absolutely sick! Liked it even better than the SLO100R. 😮
Thanks so much buddy!
Ha! I love the Killer of Giants reference at about 6:00 in. Fantastic sounding amplifier! Another one on my wish list for sure.
I don't know what that is 😅

Sounds great! I wish it came in black.
Great demo and great amp!
sick as always
Sounds bad ass. I already have a BE50 DLX but getting one of these is also tempting. Lol.
Would love to get a QC capture of this🔥
That's a f...in' cool amp!
All these Marshall like amp they bring on the market are just modified like they did in the early days.
It's just wasted glory. 🤘

Cool video! What's your favorite amp of all time and where does this rank compared to your #1?
Your clean demo song is hypnotic man, are you at least recording and releasing this music? if not why not? oh and the amp sounds amazing as well!
Thanks! All my music is just used on my channel
Awesome riffage my man.🤟
Very honest sounding amp
Yeah, good observation!

Sorry if you have already done this by the way, I searched a few in your channel and didn’t find any so that could be my mistake
Thanks! I've done a variety of comparisons but there are always more that I want to do :)
Great stuff!
What speaker cab ? Sounds amazing😮
It would be awesome to see a comparison video of this and the IR-J. Really curious whether the IR-J can keep up with this tonewise...
That could be super interesting! I don't have the IR-J though...
@@SonicDriveStudioAh, no problem... Friedman will send you one to test... 😁
Straight 🔥

There's a bunch of those lol
Still don't understand why they didn't make the 100 watt head again.. in black maybe.
Killer!
Rock!!
“Can’t Stop Rock and Roll” is Twisted Sister, “Can’t Kill Rock and Roll” is Ozzy
If they wouldn't be so pricey I would get one.
Bullet holes are extra. Too soon?
I'll just show myself out. lol
I knew the amp was going to sound good, but who knew that big 8str Ibanez had such nice cleans??
Really glad to hear you also enjoyed that tone! :)
How different would you say is the JEL50 from the BE-100?
In other words, do i need to suggest it to Fender for a model on the TMP? 😂
I haven't tried the BE-100 in person (yet), but I guess this one is a bit more classic and raw sounding. Maybe one day I'll get to compare them ;)
@@SonicDriveStudio sounds like a idea 😁 are there any else Friedman amps you'd recommend to check out?
All of them probably haha! Love my JJ JR
@taxationistheft2.0 it will probably sound way better than that at any volume
@@SonicDriveStudio as a massive fan of the Boss Katana i just have to say ...yeah you're right :P i love my Katana but this is another level entirely
I don't need another amp,
I don't need another amp,
I don't need another amp,
I need more $$$
You need another amp
@@SonicDriveStudio I need a Jetwing more ;)
Sure
2 channels is a dealbreaker.
