Holy shite! Your attention to detail is amazing. Great work! I appreciate you helping all of us achieve more realism in our builds and helping us achieve our scale dreams.
13:13 As a long time RC racer, what Tamiya did with the shallow door openings was done for mostly aerodynamic reasons-I would make the same compromise if I was making a 956 or 962 body I would also do shallow NACA ducts and shallowed rear air exits in front of the rear wheels.
Awesome work on the detail kit you have there. Would be great if you did a flat bottom add on to work in conjunction with the rear diffuser would be great. I used to use lexan sheet and bent up tabs on the sides to use Velcro so it would attach to the body.
Details are looking great. I’ve been looking at what I can do to improve the front toe eye as the moulded in item doesn’t look great. I think I might need cut out the existing eye and fabricate an alternative…🤔 No doubt you’ve been giving this some thought…😉👍
These detail kits are sooo good. The cockpit sets from Tamiya have not been available for a long time or you can find them for very high prices. On my wish list is another cockpit like this and for the Mercedes.
Fantastic work so far. Thank you for making different wheel set options available, really nice to have choices. I would certainly be very interested in all the detailing kits you mentioned and I agree with your choice of not trying to model the main radiator inlet ducts, you'd have to hack away far too much of the lexan body. The only thing I would add to the detailing list would be a request to add a rear diffuser, although I know it wont be as straight forward as the C11.
Not sure if it’s within the scope of your work but I’d love to see decal kits available for some of the popular liveries. I think it would be great to see a New Man or a Skoal Bandit decal set with your attention to detail. No idea if it’s feasible but that would be my wish. 😊
Mark me down for the wheels & detail kit! I haven't bought any of the F1 kits from Tamiya. Do you know the part numbers for the rubber tires? Keep up the great parts & videos. Thanks for doing what you do!
Not offhand, just google Tamiya F104 rubber, 2 compounds I believe. I'm also considering a bundle set of wheels and rubber tyres as I appreciate they aren't really a current item in many stockists.
Great ideas and perfect job. I like the details and the different types of rims. Maybe its possible to get a BBS rims insert that you can "click" on the original rear Tamiya rims. They may be deep enough for a bbs plate, so you also have the deep of the rim. But your 6 spoke wheels are also very very nice.
I'm focusing on the 6 spoke right now for the 1983 car. BBS is really a wheel style i'm not into for some reason :) But yes, slide in wheel covers could do the trick, especially for that kit rear wheel that's so very wrong anyway.

Since when has anyone raced a Tamiya though ;)
But yes, I hear you. It's a compromise.
Unreal attention to detail, Rob. Those wheels are a thing of beauty! Even a valve stem! Crazy!

The wheels are brilliant ! Had the idea how to fit f104 rubber tyres, now i just have to wait. Good work!
Awesome work as always dude
🤘😎👌
I like your ideas! I heard: the 956 is sold out! Not longer available at Tamiyas homepage.
Yes sign me up for wheels & detail kit Rob. question: have you ever considered a cockpit and figure set? is it even feasible?
Looks fantastic, Tamiya HQ will be jealous for sure...
imagine that :)

Yep, in the box. :)

Stay tuned then.,

Diffuser is planned for sure.. I need to get the car built but I have an idea.. :D
Awesome stuff.... I think pre-order would be the way to go.

Bloody legend Rob !!!!!
Awesome work.
13:52 Do I see the beginnings of an interior set on that body? 13:52 An open faced helmet for the driver would be nice too.

LOL, the wheels be rolling out soon…. I see what you did there, LOL
Smooth huh ;)
a set of correct scale rims for the original 934 RSR 1/12 rc aluminum chassis and 935 rim set would be very good
When you actually make the parts, will you ship them around the world? Thoughts?
Yes, just like I do already with the C11 parts.
🤩
Will the parts be available on your homepage?
Does the kit have mirrors, if not are you considering them?
The kit does have mirrors yes, otherwise I would for sure.
The rims are FDM , printed ? in PLA + or carbon
