G'day mates, this video does have an uncensored version but thankfully it's just one scene featuring a location from Better Cities that UA-cam definitely wouldn't want me showing. You can watch that version here: odysee.com/@Rimmy:1/Oblivion-Zombie-Permadeath:8 I've also removed Rumble from the opening intro and from my Linktree because it STILL hasn't synced my videos like it should have, despite it being weeks now. I've got no use for the site if it's not going to actually back-up my videos properly, and the UI is way worse than Odysee. Plus, people were mostly using Odysee anyway with Rumble having barely any traffic in comparison. If I find another good back-up site for my videos (that isn't just a patreon alternative), I'll look into using that too. The intro will keep changing depending on the current state of things, but it's mainly there so that I don't get insta-demonetised for saying asshole or dickhead (no, I'm not joking, that's the real rules) or showing some video game violence in the first 15 seconds.
Sounds good Rimmy I love Morrowind what are your thoughts on my favorite game? I gotta play oblivion more but I want to wait for skyblivion, now I’m just doing skytogether & additional lore accurate mods. Fun seeing more than just arma but damn anything you play is awesome solo or not just happy to experience stuff like this along with you.
It’s funny to imagine he didn’t actually encounter a ghost or zombies on the ship, he was just drunk as shit and attacking the crew how where wondering what this violent nord was doing there
7:50 I love how you can see the ui become glaringly bright, because Rimmy was desterately trying to raise the brightness enough for us to see anything.
15:20 " THE ZOMBIES ARE HERE!! THE ZOMBIES ARE HEEERE!! ... IM DRUNK AS SHIT AND THE ZOMBIES ARE HEEERE" is something i imagine yellin myself once we get hit by an outbreak in like 2044.
3:54 Holy shit, I think is the hardest I've ever heard Rimmy laugh before. Great to see you posting more stuff again. Love these kinds of videos. Another UA-camr I follow made a similar series in Skyrim and turned into an epic for the ages. If you ever think of doing more challenges like these in the future, I'd be all for it!
I agree 1000% with you Rimmy. Oblivion DOES look...enchanted for lack of a better word. I think it's the bright colour pallet. It gives the whole world a seemingly fairytail feeling, and I LOVE IT!

The idea of an innkeeper paying a drunken horse thief 20 gold to kill a fucking necromancer living in her backyard like they're a wasp nest makes me dead lmao.
Rimmy getting jumped by zombies for the first time while drunk and fighting a ghost was amazing. Also, I really like that the Skingrad newspaper report blames the dead flock on a bear, and then it was an actual infected bear. I doubt that was intentional, but it was really nice.
i had quite a spell of this game last year, i agree it feels more fantasy-esque mainly for the color palette, but alot of the stuff such as the menus and ui are all just very fitting for a fantasy setting
I 100% agree with the sentiment that Oblivion feels more like a fantasy game than Skyrim. The colours are vibrant and fun, the bloom is done in a way that makes everything feel dream-like, and most importantly- _Oblivion fucking plays better._ Fantastic game.
Out of the Elder Scrolls games I've played (ESIII to ES V), ESIV is still my favourite. It has the best blend of fun gameplay and great writing, in my opinion. It wasn't my first Elder Scrolls, but I really wish it was. I first played it in maybe 2019 and loved it.
This game rocked my childhood and my adolescence, as much as KOTOR 1 and 2, and as much as the first Mass Effect And it's still excellent even years later, I play it from time to time, like KOTOR which I play at least 3 times a year Now I suffer from severe psychosis so I enjoy the little pleasures of life. I take them where they are, it brings me back to a time when things were still going well.
I've got to say I started my first real Oblivion playthrough on a whim in like December, and now as of February I'm balancing like a 100+ modlist and and loving every second of living every second in feat of CTDs. So glad I gave this game a shot after all these years. A lot of love was clearly put into it and the modding scene is so chill and awesome. The whole game and it's surrounding communityhas this wonderful *vibe* you just have to experience. edit: Rimmy ovr here using dynamic combat good taste my dude. dynamic combat rocks
Quests have leveled rewards. You get 20 gold if you finish The Gravefinder's Repose at level 1 and 25 gold on top for every level you have above 1 for a maximum reward of 745 gold if you finish it at level 30.
I played this mod a few months ago, and I grabbed as many guards, Martin, Jeoffrey, and anyone else I could find, and took them to Battlehorn Castle. Imperial legion, the survivors of Kvatch, the healer and Chorrol Guards. Anyone I found useful, went to the castle lol. I tried to make it a safe place from the infection, but eventually people were getting spontaneously infected and turning. We got truly fucked after Martin got infected. Since he couldn't die, be became an immortal carrier. Slaughtering my battle battlehorn knights and Imperial palace guards. My save was doomed after that, because he would frenzy every time he got up lol
Rimmy despite being a good commander whenever he does his RP sessions with the lads, apparently finds time to hang out with StarScream who's one of the most predictable characters in the manner of when they would betray you.
22:32 "We were so close to greatness!" I enjoyed The Elder Scrolls growing up but as I often lacked all the expansions and got them later, I'd rarely be able to play the mods I wanted to so just stuck to vanilla. Your modding of Oblivion and joy for the game is infectious. I'll never like it as much as Morrowind or Skyrim, but this and the Goblin Wars video have helped Me see it as a less of a shitstain/mistake/tech demo and more of an unrealized gem that was also, honestly, quite close to greatness. It was never going to be MY perfect Elder Scrolls game, but as I see the dynamic combat in action and organic world events unfolding and informing how you self-direct in play and talk about the fantasyland vibes of the colour pallete and zones I really see an elegance in the design philosophy here. I honestly think if they'd gone a bit more full tilt this would've been a much more addictive game for Me, and I already played it a ton as a kid. But I'm sure there were complications with that at time of release.

One might think they could get bored if not of playing Oblivion over and over again but at least watching videos of other people playing but this was very entertaining like was the Goblin Wars video!
There's also a pretty fantastic zombie apocalypse mod or Morrowind, and it even has canon-logical reasons for happening, and a 'main questline' built into it.

Ok, the way you said the whole "bug creature" part legit almost took me out, I started legit wheezing and almost bashed my head into my keyboard I was laughing so hard, and I have no idea why it was _so damn funny_ to me. I'll send you the bill if I end up in the hospital by the end of this~

Something about a single zombie somewhere in the world infecting so slowly just terrifies me.
I'm amazed somebody managed to make that mod without the engine catching fire
to be fair most of the mechanics were already in the engine (the goblin wars work pretty much exactly like that when they're modded back in)
