Chris Duarte has 4 amps too! Joe Rocks but I agree with Tchpandy, a little much on the reverb and a little muddy. Thats why I love Chris Duarte's tone. hes got it ALL. Dont get me rong though I LOVE Joe Bonamassa as well!!
Amaznig how a humbucker gibson can sound like Eric Johnson with a sigle coil fender. I think it proves my personal theory that it is more about the gear then the guitar. Interesting video non the less.
I 've seen him 4 times now. After he played with clapton it became a pain in the ass. Very rude to the public because his tone was not correct.....If he could blame us ( 5000 people ) for it...No pictures, etc, etc. The best I've seen him was when he played through one amp, a Marshall, and several pedals. He's famous now but I hope he comes back to earth someday!
Tone is a combination of your amp, your guitar, and your hands. Always has been, always will be. None of us will ever sound like Joe because we don't have his hands, and while Joe uses a lot of Eric Johnson's licks and effects (delay, chorus, etc), it's still a different tone because of his hands.
@xxxEnterSandmanXxX That's what you think,. We saw him at the Ospel Bluesfestival in Holland en at the BRBF in Peer Belgium and he didn't even shake hands with the people who booked him. Don't get me wrong he's a hell of a guitar player but if his tone sucks on stage, never blame the public for that !
And he sounds like Eric Johnson why? Because he does intervallic jumps, and uses some delay and reverb? He's actually a much better guitarist than Eric Johnson as well.
I just don't understand some people...most players watching this video could only wish to be compared to Eric Johnson(one of the greats). To have technical ability and a deep understanding of music is something which we should all hope to achieve. Bonamassa plays Eric Johnson "style" licks, but writes many heavier sounding songs which appeal to a much wider audience than Johnson. And as any real musicians know...even a bar gig can be inspiring when performed right...
i just love this guy, he knows his shit. i just wish he'd play a strat....then again he might play a les paul better than a strat... i dunno, either way he is the best right now, in my world...eric gales rocks too...
Islwynpaul, I have also commented on Buddy Guy and B.B. King. So what? I've been playing most of my life, professionally for the majority of that, and I can even type in English. Perhaps you should spend less time on UA-cam on more time in the study of helping verbs. Twit.
How are numbers of sremaing females indicators of ability, look at the Beatles, the girls loved thier early stuff, but the Beatles found that it stopped being about thier music, instead many of the female fans just wanted to stand and scream about how cute they were, no offence to women, but using screaming female fans as an indicator of musical ability or value is stupid. Besides, Mayer's blues are limp wristed anyway, go and listen to Buddy Guy for real blues. (do you even know who that is?)
I like how he mixes four great amps together.
His guitar sound drips in great tone.
Wow! JB is great as always.🦁☮️
thanks joe, nice tone.
Sweet baby Jesus, I want those amps.
Killer tone!
hes great....good work!

I agree with you, but i think the tone is clapton on 60's. remember a little bit...
Bonamassa has so much influences
Amen, totally true

Sweet man.
People should not smoke crack and get on the internet. Both are exceptional players, and their styles are very similar in many ways.

Bummer to hear JB was a little remote...seems like he would be a cool guy. got to meet my heroes Beck, Page, and Satch and they were all super cool.
And he sounds like Eric Johnson why? Because he does intervallic jumps, and uses some delay and reverb? He's actually a much better guitarist than Eric Johnson as well.

It's true but didn't realize it up to now.
John Mayer can only hope to ever be as good as Bonamassa..I like his playing..but it's just true..
i like him, but there is to much delay and reverb tha i barely heard the difference between the amps
i just love this guy, he knows his shit. i just wish he'd play a strat....then again he might play a les paul better than a strat... i dunno, either way he is the best right now, in my world...eric gales rocks too...
Bonamassa has played like this or better since he was about 12
oh yeah...
is it just me or does this guy rarely use his pinky finger when he plays. most of the time it just hangs below the fretboard. why
Typo. It doesn't come as a shock you didn't get it.
:D joeeeeee
This is UA-cam though
@sinsofourfathers yes but the chicks dig mayer more lol
Looks like a hit a nerve with one of Joe's fanbois, huh?
Wow! FOUR amps! And they all sound EXACTLY THE FUCKING SAME!
Amazing stuff! Hooray for sonic diversity!
ej? maybe...
I hear clapton lickss, the tone is clapton, no?
@fridgeslayer94 Yeah, but you defend Justin bieber so..
he stole my tone........ well actually i stole his tone
haha simple setup eh....i was thinking like 1 amp with one chord to a guitar...
@fend14 ,
Read ....and you know what I mean !
his playing is nothing like EJs ... joe sounds a lot more like old cream style clapton with more pentatonics/jazz scales then eric Johnson.
John Mayer isn't a great guitarist - he's an OK guitarist. Joe Bonamassa is a great guitarist.
Joe would sing John Mayer under the table! Mayer can't sing!
It seems like someone's upset because they've been playing guitar for all their life and they'll never be 1/100th as talented as Joe. Pathetic.
Exactly right. Muddy as hell and drenched with digital reverb. Pointless. Easier to carry around a POD.

man i hate that sound yup a glob of sound

Get a amp that has el-34 tubes. Relly loud. 🎸🎛🔈
Amen, totally true
