    Landlords need to stop being so greedy with their rent hikes by kicking good paying tenants out on the street and raising the rental rates so high that low income people can't pay those prices they seek. No good paying tenant should live in fear of having their home taken out from beneath them due to Landlords over-rsising the rental rates. It puts older past hard working pensioner out on their butts to end up living in tents to protect themselves from the elements of weather even at ages of pensioners being 70+ yrs old. Good paying pensioners should not have to live in fear of loosing their rental units. They worked hard for yrs and should be left alone to enjoy life, not fear it. What little they do have in life is lost in forcing them out of their homes to end up living on the streets in a tent, (if they even have that over their heads). It's a dsigrace by what these landlords are doing in raising rents so high that people can't eat properly of afford to have a solid roof over their heads. It piles many people into a small rental unit just to have a roof over their heads from the weather. That means crouded living slums to pop up, while landlords get rich on what they charge pre person to live in that small unit. It brings in drugs, and booze. How insane can that be and governments need to take things in hand a stop these landlords from raising rents so high above low income pensioners. It's a total disgrace on what these landlords are doing to get rich on the poor. It also causes a lot of early deaths due to weather exposure, drugs, and booze. Where are the government reps when you need them to act on behalf of the poor? No-where to be seen. They hide away in their comfy homes and do nothing. These people can't afford to buy a home outright as their incomes won't allow it. They need a safe place to live and enjoy life and it's not out on a street living in a tent or in a sleeping bag with little or no food because government cut their pension rates when they lose their rental homes and have to live on the streets. This is deplorable on the parts of both landlords and Government. This has to stop and stop fast. Pensioners need help to have a solid roof over their heads away from the weather. They worked hard in the past and don't deserve this kind of rotten treatment.

    I am a single, full time father & my landlord will not give me a written lease agreement saying that I live here, I need it for an audit, by the irs. My landlord refuses to give me proof of residence, I think it's bc she's not claiming the income on this side of the duplex! Saying nobody lives here, my landlord does NOT live in the other side, I have lived here for 7 years now and I moved into all the problems that I have had thus far. I have fixed almost all of the problems myself, correctly, the first time, out of my pocket, paid the labor out of my pocket, the only thing I got in return, was another threat to kick me out bc I fixed the pipes correctly, and my landlords boyfriend wasn't able to charge her way too much, just to make the problem worse & then I have to repair it myself if I want it fixed..... He saw there was mold all under the flooring in the bathroom, but refused to replace it or even clean it! Now that I have made them "repair" the bathroom floor, I'm being threatened with eviction.... Again. Rent is paid & not behind. I need help here, it's just me and my kid here, my family lives out of town. They threaten me constantly, show up out of the blue demanding me let them in, for no reason, I told them yesterday that they must call & not show up out of the blue bc that's just rude!

      Track your banking statements and do not pay by cash. Pay by money order or try to see if you can Zelle/Apple pay or some sort of payment outside of cash. If you pay cash. Stop paying rent. Or if they deny it, fuck them and show your mail has been going there for x amount of months and start squatting. Show receipts of stuff you’ve fixed. Use text messages. Literally trick them into saying it without them showing it. This one seems easy.

    If a landlord has a lease option tenant in their property, would it be a faster eviction process vs a tenant in the property on a land contract?
    Lease option contract vs land contract which is a faster eviction process?
    I heard land contract can take up to 8 months.

    And people are still wondering why no one is investing in areas like Chula Vista or California in general. Despite all the mandates at state level.

    So many landlords still discriminating against women and children. One landlord called my landlord and her ask them were my children bad 😔 it's just ridiculous.

      really ? or maybe just wanting to know if there will be brats running around making life miserable for all people there ? or maybe destroying the property ? is that really "discriminating" or just being careful about who they allow to move in especially with how difficult it will be to get them out if they do prove to be unruly?

    I have this problem in my apartment. They send me a letter this April 2023 saying one of my money order bounces last November. At first they told me to check my bank account because they return it to western and western Union will return my money back to my account. But nothing. I call western Union and they said it was cash last November 8 and 7 all the MO. I ask the manager apartment but they said there’s nothing they can do about it. I ask for the copy of the MO but they just keep excuses what’s should I do I need help I live here at oxon hill md

      Right, then maybe the government would put laws in place that stops the rent seeker from OVER CHARGING on housing. GREAT IDEA!! 😁😁

    Thanks for posting ... sounds like a nightmarish web of laws on all levels ... semi-retired attorney and small time residential landlord in Florida .. was thinking of acquiring ( 1031 ) a rental in San Diego ( duplex ) to surf with my son ... maybe not.

    Tenant Advocates have made it so Landlords are easily abused! The best part is how Tenant Advocates don't understand why there is a shortage in Affordable Housing!

    Can a legal person represent me I will split all winnings in court as I know we have a sold. Case I need help to STOP EVECTION WITH ALL THESE FACTS AND ALSO THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO RAISE RENT DOUBLED I DONT OWE RENT DUR TO IM OWED 2 MORE MONTHS RENT RELIEF PAID TO HER BEFORE SHE SOLD HOME

    I'm glad that I sold off my rental homes to new home owners. I cashed out and will never enter the landlord business in California.
