      Hey Johnny,
This is Will with Military Lawn Cuts & Landscaping. I am another Veteran who is in the lawn care business like yourself. I currently am just using my personal cell phone for business as well but am not sure if this is the most efficient way because I have clients that text me outside of work hours that takes up a lot of my time. Do you have a business line that is different than your personal cell phone and how do you set it up to ring your personal phone?
      Thanks in advance!!

I’m very particular about keeping my equipment clean. Not only does it help to fix any problems earlier but it also shows customers that you care about your equipment and take pride in your business. This professional approach also tells your clients that you take pride in the work you do for them. No body wants a crew turning up with shoddy looking equipment to their home

I worked for a lawn care company out of Punta Gorda Florida For awhile and our everyday routine at the end of work we took out every piece of equipment every single day. They also tough us to never rev up and down up and down with the weed eaters and blowers because it wrecks the fuel diaphragms inside. It was like LAWNCARE equipment clean up boot camp. :)

We have an eight axle tractor/trailer unit in a trucking company I own with my son in law. We have a simple rule: The equipment is kept clean after every run - no exceptions. The whole unit goes through a truck wash and the tractor is detailed about every four months - inside and out. Customers notice when a driver comes into his yard to pick up an $800,000 piece of new equipment with a clean rig and a well groomed and clean driver. The customers comment on it and we get business from it. If we take such good care of our equipment, the customer reasonably assumes we will the same for the cargo. And we do. I don't drive a truck but I do set rules. Our owner-drivers are a lot happier with their clean rigs even when they have to pay to have them clean.

You remind me of my dad. When he had his business, he always kept his equipment clean. A lot of people who think it was a waste of time because "its just going to get dirty again or "its meant to be dirty". But I will tell you now that like your equipment that's lasted several years, he also has equipment that is 15+ years old that starts up right away. Even a zero turn from the 80s that still works.

Just bought some old equipment at a yard sale. I am on a fixed income, so I hope they work OK. I bought an electric weed eater, an electric hedge trimmer, and a Scott's fertilizer spreader-a large one. So I am going to get brave and clean them and see if I can get them working. I have never used electric tools. I actually have been trimming my yard with scissors and sitting on the ground and hand pulling weeds and grass. I am an older woman. I have an acre and I landscape it myself with a variety of bushes, trees and plants and flowers. I do not even know how to put the string on the weed eater. Thank goodness for You Tube! Wish me luck. Thanks for the video!!!

*Good vid, thanks for sharing. I call this cleaner purple stuff and I use it to clean all my equipment as well. I use it on my hedge trimmers as well and it cleans the blades exceptionally well. I just use my electric handheld blower to blow dry everything after I rinse with my garden hose to remove all of the water and prevent rust and moisture problems. One thing I did notice about purple stuff is that it ruins the pump on the spray bottles. If the trigger on your spray bottles ever starts sticking or becomes useless just look under the trigger and you'll see a small plunger. Pour a little engine oil or other thick oil on that plunger and it'll work like new again.*

Hi Johnny! Personal preference for me...is Simple Green. I get the gallon containers of the concentrated solution, then put them in pump sprayers like you do. The Simple Green seems to work best on stuff like algae, grass and dirt stains, it would probably work well on the dreaded Savannah yellow snow too. Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing your videos with us.
