The only problem is I got the fitment wrong between the oil stick and the bezel. I turned the engine over and destroyed the new fan. I will add a link in the description to part I incase you missed it. Many a person has fallen into this Briggs & Stratton trap! Enjoy the video and have a very blessed day. Thank you, your video showed me how I broke my other fan when I installed it,
I'll make sure I do it right this time, details are important!🙂

thank you your video showed from start to finish how to do the job. I really needed to see how to replace the cover and you showed what not to do and how to make adjustments.

I did the exact same thing yesterday. The pisser is I knew the oil dip stick didn’t look like it was positioned right before I started up the engine. I should have stopped and taken the cover off and put it on right. But I was in a hurry so…. Yeah $30. I only broke off 2 fins but I’m not taking any chances. It’s a new engine. Part is on its way from ProParts Direct. $23 for the fan and $7 to ship it. Not at all like me to do this, but I did. Thanks for sharing. I too will never make that mistake again. 😂

*Kenneth You Are my New Best Friend!* I have looked at about a hundred videos trying to find someone showing how to properly fit the shroud. A lot of the videos ended right when they were ready to put the shroud on or they just said to put it on properly. Well that wasn't much help lol. Thank you for making this video. I am servicing my riding mower for the first time and I want to avoid breaking my fan.
EDIT: Update - This was my very time servicing my riding mower because the service company I used was not responding to my calls. Anyway, Thanks to YT I was able to change the oil, air filter, spark plug, fuel filter, add a fuel shut off valve, air up the tires and replace the shroud after I had removed it to clean the cooling fins. After putting the mower back together, I was so nervous about starting it. The first time I tried it was did nothing😕. I tighten the battery nuts and replugged the ignition components and guess who's lawn mower started😁. Thanks again Kenneth for showing me how to replace the shroud because I am sure that I would have had a different outcome today. Also, I could not find your video in the beginning because I was searching using the words ENGINE COVER. When I started seeing the word shroud on the web, I searched YT and that is when your video showed up. Yay! Oh well, time to relax and sew something.

Why not slide the dipstick in the cover first?

Take the dipstick out of the tube and it will go together without all the hassles.

Thanks for the tip. I was able to replace the shroud on my riding mower with no issues when I removed the dipstick.
