    Sir, YOU have saved me. I recently replaced the intake manifold due the typical failure but after installation about 60 miles later I got a new P2006 code! I was going to loose my mind. Then, after watching your video, you pointed out the sensor issue blocking the articulating arm from releasing. Sure enough! Without this tip I was absolutely floored about what to do next. THANK YOU!

    Hi Kieth, just found you're videos and subscribed. I'm new to Mercedes and my 07 E350 had this problem. Your videos were super helpful. Turned out the linkage was stuck or sticking due to grease and dirt. After a thorough degreassing all is good (at least for now.) A few days earlier, I ordered the repair kit and a set of gaskets thinking I was going to pull the intake. Glad I checked your video first. BTW I went out and bought the same GUNK engine cleaner you used in another video. Hope the mfg reads this. Please keep sharing this helpful information. Jeff

After which it goes back. I start my engine, and i coukd see that its stuck towards the right. I watched another mechanic show how to replace those, and when he was done, he moved it but it didn't spring back like yours did. So I figured mine was okay. I thought it should be moving freely like yours. I guess I need to actually separate the top from the bottom of the manifold, and clean it out inside, like the one of your videos that shows how to clean the inside. I was having a hard time finding your video on doing the repair, when I was doing it. So I watched someone else's. Sorry about that.
    That case came up again, after I did the repair, so I figured it was because the linkage is not moving freely, or springing back. Is there a spring in there somewhere? When everything was disconnected, I could move those easy enough, but they didn't spring back, even when everything wasn't connected.
    I changed the 3 parts for the PCV system, but I still get oil up in the plastic part on the valve cover, on the driver's side. It torqued it to the proper torque, but it started leaking oil onto the exhaust. So I tightened it down more. It did okay until I got home. It started leaking again. I think I got it to stop leaking now though. But isn't it not supposed to get the oil that far up the hose?
    I only found this one as it came up on the suggested to watch list today.

    • @tableek5252

      @shark70007000 9 місяців тому +1

      @@tableek5252yes, it should move freely like in this video. I ended up finding out the replacement vacuum actuators , I believe Moog, had the caps that snap onto the thin metal extention pieces were too snug. So I had to modify the new ones to put the old original caps on there, because they are a lot looser than the new one was. After that, I haven't had a problem with them.

    • @iRepairAutos
      @iRepairAutos  10 місяців тому

      Error code P2013 in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle is typically related to an issue with the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) position sensor. The IMRC system is designed to control the intake runner flaps in the intake manifold, optimizing air intake for different driving conditions.
      Here's a brief description of the error:
      P2013: Intake Manifold Runner Control Circuit High Bank 2
      This error code indicates that the circuit for the intake manifold runner control, specifically on bank 2, is detecting a high voltage condition, which could imply a problem with the sensor, the wiring, or the control unit for the intake manifold runner system.

      @@iRepairAutos I've only removed the manifold and just about to repair the broken plastic linkage and replace it with a metal one. I left the injectors in place and used the fuelrails to hold on to to help lift the manifold up and out. One tip to other people wanting to do the same job is to be careful of the vacuum hoses that are connected to the front of the manifold and feed down to the bottom left and connect to another valve just in front of the cam cover. The plastic connectors are quite easily broken off if you pull up on the manifold to lift it out and they are still connected.

    2 questions: 1. it possible to fix the actuator without removing the manifold?
    2. What would cause a vaccine leak right at the actuator area?
    I sprayed carb cleaner to leak check and the motor leveled out when I sprayed the exact area. Right under the right air valve (facing car)

    Does a P2004 code could be triggered by a a bad actuator if there is free movement in the links with no impingement and no broken links or other external visible damage? Can the actuator itself be troubleshooted with a vacuum pump?
    Thanks for the good work, the best video explanation by far of the way the swirl flaps function and what could go bad.

      That's totally possible that the actuator could be bad. A vacuum pump could be used to test it. It's more likely that the air intake is the culprit. The connecting points running into the internal section could be broken from the inside making it difficult to see the broken part. Good luck!

      My mechanic told me I need a new intake manifold for my 2007 ml350 (like yours) they called my local MB dealer and its almost $1000 for the part, i went on Amazon and Ebay saw
      it for about $200 bucks including gasket...just need to know why such a big cost difference and does it matter where I get the part . Thanks just discovered your videos and loving them.

      Did you find out the issue?

      Yes, the links were not moving freely, replaced the whole manifold. Good as new

      @@cristinastor so whole intake had to be replaced wow, mine move freely no obstructions but if I'm still getting that p2004 I believe its gonna be one of the 2 sensors 👎, I had taken intake off and replaced all 3 pumps and links with no success lol, next is the 2 sensors.

    Can a bad manifold be the reason for engine to smoke from tailpipe?

      Replace your oil separator/PCV valve for the crankcase breather. It’s on the back of the motor on the passenger side. This is where oil is entering the intake rubbers.

      It could be your fuse, it could be the relay or the pump that is responsible for closing it. Where are you located?

    Did you change the linkage to metal?

    • @iRepairAutos
      @iRepairAutos  5 років тому

      No, those that do that risk breaking the next weakest part - the internal plastic flaps.

      Make sure you have your radio code.
      Then unplug the fuse for the radio for 5 minutes then plug it back in and try again.

      It should be written down in your car manual. If not, you can get it from the dealership. You will have to provide them with vehicle registration and your identification.
