I love cane toads for the creature they are, instead of looking at the damage they have caused. I own two and I keep them in a huge outdoor cage that is 6x4 feet. They love it and thrive! Awesome video! It’s cool to see others taking awesome care of their misunderstood pets.
Thanks, she's still doing great. I've got some African bullfrogs now that I'll be setting up a paludarium for in the future. fyi all my future videos will be on my new channel - ua-cam.com/channels/WAfJ7qJMldGu5mfWPUDKfQ.html
That tank looks amazing! Cane toads always get a bad rap for the damage they do in Australia, but they're really great when put in an environment they can do no harm. I can't wait until I get one someday!
she’s leaking bc you’re holding her in a very odd way. i have 7 toads & frog. 2 canes coming in & not one has peed on me if i cup them. they have peed on my fiancé, who does what you do
Pooping in freshly changed water was always my monitor's favorite pastime. How do you keep it all clean? Doesn't all that funk build up around the rocks?
Thanks, I think if I had a pixie I'd make the water area deeper, and probably go half land half water, but yes this would work great. Only problem I'm facing is that I need to get some foam to put around the filter to keep substrate out.
@@yehudanissimsilverman8883 at first I had cocofiber substrate in there but took all of it out since she didn’t like it and spent her time in the water, now I have a mix of various sizes smooth river rocks (they sell them for turtles) and have them at different heights and she loves it! First time she was in the all water tank she was so excited and she’s so happy now! The water is only about 5 gallons in a 75 gallon tank so she’s not like drowning or anything, it’s more swamp like if anything

They fall on a line of unnerving and cute for me. Once one sat on on my windowsill and stared into my room for a couple minutes. They’re so weird

Great video, im going to copy the empty space for my own cane toad enclosure to allow for higher water levels! Thanks for the ideas!
Nice tank I love what you did with the water feature
Thanks! I want to bring all my enclosures up to this level, it's just so much better.
Great set up!
Great idea. May have to make one of these for my toad 🥰
This looks amazing! What kind of filter did you use
great job
Very nice! I want something similar for my Bufo.... Running water always filters itself better
Hello Matthew, I've been watching your videos and your tanks are so amazing! I was wondering if you would ever do a room tour
Yes! I'm going to be getting a new cage for my boa soon, and I'll be making a few videos in the next week or two.
@@motiszm thank you, I'll be looking forward to it
Can you bots shut up? Thanks.
Wow! This looks really good man! I'm inspired and would love to do something similar for my American toads in the future. Awsome!
Cool i may do spadefoot.
Nice job
What filter set up did you use for the water? I’d love this for my American toad!
did you ever find out
@TrevorPaintz
Those are waterfall filters. Usually something you'd use for shallow water for turtles and so on. Relatively inexpensive
Nice
You think it would work out if instead of making a false bottom, I just silicone in a divider to keep all the water on one end?
What’s the best way to make a drainage system for a turtle paludarium
What is that filter that you used in this tank?
whats the name of water feature you used for this?
What brand of filter is that?
What filter is that please!

same with my little guy like this setup is beautiful n all but i clean out my whole enclosure once a month
This looks amazing. Do you know if this would suit a pixie or not?

My road is just 2 lazy 2 dig it go’s about 2 cm deep then just gives up
What kind of filter is that?
Brittany Sweet ^
What is the false bottom for?
The false bottom keeps the substrate from getting too wet.
What size tank is that
he said it in the beginning. of the vid
40 gallon tank
Bro just pissed on you with no shame
I don't like that you used a false bottom, Toads need to be able to burrow deep, I like everything else though.
I have a cane toad too and for some reason they just don’t like to burrow, my toad spends all of her time in the water
@@2ddavi What type of soil do you use?

One time I found a cane toad which dug itself into the ground in summer. I could only see the top of its back and head

A true bioactive setup always has to have bugs that degrade dead animal and plant matter, so that the plants can reuse it, making it a perfect cycle.
Have to do your research before you do stuff!!!!!
