- Go For It Goemon: Nightmare in the Dimensional Castle (がんばれゴエモン 次元城の悪夢, Ganbare Goemon Jigen Shiro no Akumu) is an original video animation (OVA) made in 1991 by KONAMI & AIC Studios.
Synopsis:
Goemon and Ebisumaru are called to adventure when Omitsu gets kidnapped by a strange creature! The duo are lead to investigate a mysterious castle that seemly appeared from the sky, and end up having a bit of a nightmare as they visit some unique places.
History:
This OVA was created as part of a campaign by KONAMI to commemorate Goemon's 5th anniversary, and originally was only obtainable as a lottery prize. The lottery (which ran from November 1991 to February 1992) had 2,000 copies of the OVA to be won.
To enter the lottery participants had to mail in two of three character coupons which were only included in the box of the following Ganbare Goemon games:
Ganbare Goemon: Yukihime Kyūshutsu Emaki (がんばれゴエモン ゆき姫救出絵巻)
Ganbare Goemon: Sarawareta Ebisumaru (がんばれゴエモン さらわれたエビス丸)
Ganbare Goemon Gaiden 2: Tenka no Zaihō (がんばれゴエモン外伝2〜天下の財宝〜)
In March 1993, a year after the original lottery, the OVA became available in stores priced at ¥4,800 ($40). The cover artwork of this standard version differs from its 1992 lottery counterpart, though the animation contents are exactly the same.
In late 1994 the tape once again became a lottery prize as KONAMI commemorated the release of SNES title Ganbare Goemon 3: Shishijūrokubē no Karakuri Manji Gatame (がんばれゴエモン3 獅子重禄兵衛のからくり卍固め).
Early copies of GG3 had a coupon printed on the back page of the manual which could be cut-out and mailed in to KONAMI. The lottery deadline was January 31st, 1995, with just 100 positions available to win. Winners would also receive a copy of KONAMI's other original video animation "TwinBee: WinBee's ⅛ Panic".
Voice Cast (by "81 Produce"):
Goemon - Daiki Nakamura (中村 大樹)
Ebisumaru - Hideyuki Umezu (梅津 秀行)
Omi-chan - Miki Itō (伊藤 美紀)
Lord of the Castle - Kiyoyuki Yanada (梁田 清之)
Minion / WinBee (Pastel) - Kumiko Nishihara (西原 久美子)
Christine - Yumiko Shibata (柴田 由美子)
Gen-san - Toshiyuki Morikawa (森川 智之)
Kin-san - Wataru Tagaki (高木渉)
Note:
Since this animation only saw release on VHS, that's the "highest-quality" available to us. As a result, there are some artefacts and distortions associated with the old analogue format.
Subtitling by us - Huge shout-out to gecha for their amazing translation work, with special thanks to mumpsump!
I hope you enjoy the subtitles! Check the video description to see a small note on the history of this VHS release.
Ah yes my childhood. I remember these days when I was watching Ganbare Goemon episode 19 via Flash Player the japanese dub went no audio when Nyanko kidnaps a pink jacket woman who lets Goemon without Omitsu together. But @GoemonInternational forgot to upload these episodes of this anime. I know that @sasoraitanuki left UA-cam for no reason.
They need to bring this series back it was underrated
Underrated like OWI.
A spiritual successor is being made in the switch by the old goemon team if you haven’t heard
@@brendaspence1824 What's the name of the game?

Because of these things, one misses Konami a lot (the real one!) How beautiful it was at that time and how far away it is now.
The fact that it uses music from the SNES game is awesome plus all the references! Thank you!
Oh my god thank you so much, seriously. Having this little gem finally translated is a friggin gift! Appreciate the time and effort put into this.
But seriously why couldn’t the anime have been like this😩😤
I know, right?
Words cannot express how much I feel thankful to you for keeping up with the channel and your works. Goemon series really deserves better.
I was feeling so depressed today until this video showed up in my newsfeed. Thanks a lot for sharing this piece of childhood joy.

OMG the homage to Gradius series is pure amazing, also did they just reused the sortie sequence from G III CM?
Yeah, they did! I had a feeling that was familiar xD
Not only was the lip syncing with the subtitles *SPOT ON* , but the VHS even used SNES/Super Famicom music. 😊
Hiroshi Obi's powerful Micchan went astray.
