When I first saw this video on MTV’s Headbangers Ball (yes, it’s that old), I initially thought it was a parody video, played back at double speed, making fun of thrash metal and shredders, but oh, no; they are the real deal. I got to see them live years later at a small club. It’s a shame they don’t get enough recognition (beyond the world of guitar geeks) for making fantastic power metal
For sure, they are epic and among the top of the greats. Ever see the live vid of, Epica, ft. Floor Jansen doing ‘ Sancta Terra’ beyond the classical/operatic part, which with them doing them is amazing, the music, like metal part, total head bangers ball, real heavy metal, with a crazy twist. Look it up if you haven’t, sure it’ll be enjoyable.

Since Li told us about the Poly live "drama" i just understand how hard it is to manage to keep "synchronized". I always thought they just do their thing out of memory etc..
I was 13 when I first saw this video. It changed my whole world. At 15, my two buds and I went to see them live. My first mosh pit and wall of death. I'll never forget it.
You should check out Unleash the Archers “Awakening!” They sometimes open for Dragonforce and are equally as epic! Female singer has an awesome voice! Guaranteed to like it! 👍🏻🤟🏻🤙🏻

2007: This song was recommended to me by a friend from Myspace (hey, I said 2007). I plugged in my headphones and listened to it as I was typing at work. Soon I was up to 65+ words a minute, which was astronomical for me at the time. There may have also been heart palpitations.

If you like Dragonforce and Band Maid, you'll like Lovebites. It's like the two combined: all female Japanese band that plays the same style as Dragonforce. In fact, Lovebites toured with Dragonforce. A good song to start with would be "Holy War"

Great reaction I love this band I’ve seen them 9 times as they keep playing in my home town. they also got me into Babymetal because they wrote and did the guitar riffs for road of resistance they only played it on the album metal resistance and dragonforce actually performed it at an award show as well as gimme chocolate.

ROFL, you crack me up Jen. These guys have been around for awhile 🤘. When you said, "this is fastest guitar solo ever", I nearly spit my coffee out as I knew what was coming. You face was melted completely off when the dueling solos hit. Loved it Jen...from this long time 55 year old metalhead 🤘
The second solo set is amazing....but sadly since this is the shorter version of the song, the lead in to the solos is cut. The lead in makes it feel like two warriors are meeting for battle and sizing each other up before the battle and the solos. The full version is just........a masterpiece lol

The edited music video, i wish UA-cam would delete this version, there's over two minutes cut out. But yeah, you'll get a solo like that in about every one of their songs. they don't hold back.
Their genre would be "power metal", and they coined a term for themselves "extreme power metal".

Yup. Agreed. They are world-class and impossible to top. The genre is called Power Metal, I believe.
This is literally the FIRST song on the album. This is basically the warm up song for everything else that's to come. I made the mistake of listening to the album this is off of while driving. The cops didn't appreciate me trying to drive as fast as this song.
As for suggestions: Michael Angelo Batio - Double Guitar Shred Medley. Herman Li one of the guitarist for Dragonforce once did a reaction video to it and his reaction to it was 1 to 1 yours watching this video. It's THAT insane.

this song is more or less multiple solos by mostly herman li the main guitarist so when you asked " what was that?" i would like to said " the G. solo" not only G for " guitar" but too because it's the "G point of eargasm" and herman li is one of the best if not "the best" "shreder" wich is a musician based on speed and technic!

Herman Li is the Keanu Reeves of the musical world: legendary at what he does, and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet off the stage.
If you haven't in the two years since posting this video, you should check out Li's reaction videos to people playing this song on nearly every instrument imaginable.
The guitar is usually the highlight, but that fucking drummer is a machine.

Studio was one thing but do it live? Not that easy when it was also consumated quite a lot beer.
So often people have disliked their liveperformances. But last 7-8 years they have improved a great deal.
Funfact: Sam and Herman was one of the first to embrace Babymetal and do some collabs like "Road of resistance".

Dragonforce has a song called The Flame Of Youth which is, not exactly a continuation of this song but like a sequel kind of. Although it sounds completely different.
