Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by and showing your support 😊 I appreciate it! Don't forget to check out the website: jwclassicvw.com for your channel sticker.
I fell across your channel (and a few others) cause I'm looking into getting a baja or dune bug as a fun car. I've watched a bunch of your vids to get an idea what I'm in for.😅 I'm not sure if it matters but, I think you put the alternator in 120° off. There seems to be a relief cut in the housing that lines up with the vents in the alternator.
Hi Bro Love getting new stuff through the mail I'm waiting on some parts for Bess , They were supposed too be here yesterday LOL Yeah I like the stuff CB Performance has too Goose is coming along nicely Great job
Ya know regarding those copper gaskets? If you boil or heat those copper gaskets evenly and completely they will swell back up and aneal. You can reuse them as they will crush back down again. I reuse them all the time!
That's so funny totally just figured this out yesterday and watched a bunch of videos on it. Most videos were referencing motorcycle engines but yesssss it should totally be the same for VWs. Good stuff brother!!
@@JWClassicVW yeah I learned it from doing Yamaha RD motorcycles with copper head gaskets. Yeah I said it, I reuse head gaskets. Hasn't failed me yet. It works good on the banjo bolt washers too. I'll actually use the gooey copper gasket stuff that comes in a can with the ball applicator on the inside of the cap on steel or aluminum gaskets. Also works like a charm and never failed me.
Hey JW ! I saw some cylinders that had a chrome sleeve with it looked like spiral prick punches down the sleeve before .they were called biral cyl. the prick punches held oil sorta like the hone marks do . they are cool $$$
I just found the belt info on the Bernie Bergman Website Serpentine Belt, NAPA #050316. Great videos. I know you gave a plug to Cip1, unfortunately they have a terrible customer service, I bought fully chrome alloys and they cracked right away, they wouldn’t take them back or replace them nor give some credit.
Sorry to hear that, I've personally only had 1 shipping issue with CIP1 and they fixed it. Over the years I've ordered products probably a 100 times, so with one jack up over those orders I'm ok with them.
No sir, never did an install on it. My setup came with the engine. If you purchased the raw form without paint you've got some work to do. I've seen the team over at Powerhaus build one up... there was a bit of clearance they did.
@@JWClassicVW i bought his complete kit bernie is old now 83 wow...hes trying to explain over the phone to me and ya im body workin it now ,it came grey so i wanted to hit you up for some photos where the breast plate fastens to pully cover new member to your group so thanx in advance....goose love it building Maverick haha its a 57
@@JWClassicVW alright. Well I just picked up all my engine parts from my folk's place and found that the head I have has pitting on the #3 side. Any way to fix that or is it time to replace the heads? Trying to get this done on budget but a few things I found today might negate that. I'd love to talk more and let you know what I've found and see if you can help me to figure out what can be done/what I have to do?
Yup, and a wire brush. I get mine from Harbor Frieght. They won't hurt anything. Just clean them real good after with soap and water. Those little pieces of wire get every where.

I just love the Bergman fans. Watching them spin is mesmerizing.👍✌️
I know... getting this set up has been a dream since I was a kid flipping through my dad's Hot VWs magazine.
Cool stuff, gotta love those parts boxes coming in.
Those ring compressors are the bees knees man, you’ll love it!
Like Christmas every time!

Hi, how do you remove the central nut of the fan? Thanks
Heat and my 18v impact gun and she spun right off.
@@JWClassicVW thanks
Jason, first minute of the video... what are you doing to clean the chambers of the heads? please clarify?
Most of it was done with Gunk FEB1 Foamy Engine Brite Engine Cleaner.

Some pitting in the the valves isn't a big deal. I would recommend having a valve job done but you'd need to find a shop locally that can do it.
Where do i find the Bernie Bergman fan ?
Just Google it brother, he has a website.
Big Big valves
Turbo Heads brother, gotta breath a lot for that power.
