Very useful for self defense against someone whos hiding behind two elephants
🤣
I swear officer, he was in my house when I shot him.
Cop: where is he now.
Well some of him is on the ceiling, the walls, the floor, the kitchen, the basement, the backyard, the tool shed....
Now we need a 45-120 with 900gr
Lmao
Will a 45120 with a 900 grain may not work you have to consider number one it's using the sharps rifle you have to look at the rate of twist if it will stabilize that bullet at 900 grains as I indicated earlier I was told of a gentleman who used the 600 at 20050 feet per second most likely that was out of a 22 inch or a 26-inch Winchester 1886 the standard load from the very very beginning with a 500 g r a i n out of an 1886 Winchester the 405 came later in the trapdoor used by the calvary soldiers in the 19th century 1800 year however Marlon at that time made a 45 85 500 which was chambered in deer rifle in the 1800s as well as the Winchester I'm trying to find an 188645.90 because you can also use 4570 they're both very Kick-Ass rounds and then we have a 4575 Winchester and a 4560
The round that no one asked for but the round we deserve.
I agree 🤔 wonder if theres anywhere to order these without having to handload
I've always been intrigued with the .45-70. I loaded up 51 rounds of 525gr lead last night and I'm gonna take out my two new .45-70 single shot rifles today. A trapdoor and a high wall. It'll be my first time firing .45-70.
Shout out to Starline for putting 51 pieces of brass in the bag of 50. :D
sounds like a good rabbit load.
I don't think it's enough, need to break out the 50 cal for those rascals!
@@ibtrippn08 those damn wascally wabbits sure are tricky
@@CarlitosG1711 This guy gets it 👆
Be wery wery quiet, I'm hunting wabbit.
*Loud Cannon full of grape shot fires*
Turning a rabbit into rab-bits
And here we see the courier preparing to clear quarry junction
Thank you very much . I have loaded 565 grain and all went well. I am a closely monitored newby. To see a 600 grain is inspiring, just because.
He's got beef with a tyrannosaur
We both have short arms, I think we could come to an agreement 🤣
These rounds are for when you absolutely, positively have to hit the target riding on Godzilla's back...
That casting set up is awesome.
Sadly it's not getting much use these days, maybe soon.. Thanks for the comment!
When you have to go through a Rhino, from head to butt, and still hit whatever's behind him.
Vasco Jorge If you hit a whitail in the right spot in the butt , you can practically gut him on the run , watched an old man do it once upon time in my younger days , he was a retired friend of my grandfather's , at like 70yrs old it was his first buck deer , man was he happy , we had tenderloin for lunch.
Becky Watt please explain, instructions inclear
It's like shooting a whole .45 acp catridge.
🤣🤣🤣
Remember the Tunguska event?
Yeah, these rounds caused it.
Nothing on the planet can hide from that bullet weight/velocity combination. DANG. Even the standard 405 gr is impressive on lethality.
When i was thinking that my 580 grains shotgun slugs @ 1210 fps had some kick to it, there is a madlad on youtube making 600 grains 45/70 safari loads.
Fresh!
Thanks for watching!
Gotta love a bullet heavier than a 12 gauge slug lol
And moving just as fast...scary actually.
Hell thats 50bmg territory
This is what I load in my 458 SOCOM suppressed bolt gun. ABSOLUTELY LOVE them.
"Fall is upon us. There's a nip in the air and, with it, the faint aroma of fuel oil and Rotella. Peterbuilt season is here and we're loading up to bag us a 14 liter buck."
So we hunting Caterpillars or Detroit Diesels
I just found my new squirrel load it’s cleaned and cooked with 1 shot
Pink mist lol
Honestly itd probably just punch a hole. Not enough flesh and bone to flatten the bullet out or cause it to tumble.
These make those movies that put the whole bullet in the slow mo scene believable.
When your target wanders in a nuclear shelter.
Wow, can't wait to try some of these out in my 8" 45/70 T/C Contender!!!
Well now we have an adequate bullet for removing the factory sights from a Springfield xd
WOW, thats a big bullet!! Looks like it has a hell of a quick heavy punch, thanks for the video.
.50 BMG: 600 grains, son!
.45-70 Government: Listen here, you little shit...
plinking? would think they'd be reserved for raptors and the like
...ever heard of plinking raptors?..just saying it does excist...:LOL
I'm not trying to be a know-it-all and realize your joke was meant for comedy's sake (I laughed), but why not share a fun fact or two, eh? Velociraptors were actually no bigger than a large chicken. Lol. Usually 30 pounds at most
david smith like a Utah Raptor. Much more like the Jurassic park raptors. That would be terrifying to come across though.
@@wesleythierolf1175 The jurassic park ones were mostly based on deinonychus. I have no idea why they call them velociraptors.
For when you need to take out a bear and the 2 behind it
And they all are behind the neighbour's house.
I like the 535 gr Postell bullet by Lyman. A tried and true long distance bullet for the 45-70.
4 big grease grooves to carry lube down long barrels.
I shoot them in my Browning BPCR with excellent results.
I like the channel name, at least you are not lying.
🤣
Good video 45-70 is a real man gun
This is satisfying
I like that they are coated blue
"Ach du lieber, mein schatz"! Nice review for a dandy bullet! Nice music too! I'd ask you to dance, but I'm married, you lucky guy you!! Seems like the "kick" from that load punished you more than it looked! "Gesundheit"!!!
That's some healthy recoil
I for one am glad this man has created the best possible ammunition for defense against the mother-in-law.
I think we need a bigger round for that 😬
You use these bullets when your defending your home against the tripods from war of the worlds or king kong
I use these to defend my home against other homes.
I must acquire this mold! This was a fun video.
Appreciate it!
That round was absolutely putting a wallop on the water out there
Can never be too safe. They cloned a wooly mammoth
Awesome! Takes an awful long time to fill that 4 cavity mold 😎. Can’t wait to get one for myself.
I know I’ve watching this video as I was digging the purple PC but I must didn’t comment. Congratulations on the growth of this content. 58K views wow. Great job Brother.
Appreciate it Chico, I promise it's some youtube voodoo at work. Either that or I need to figure out who shared this and link them to my other videos none of these 58k people know about 😂 Take care man!
This guy has the strongest shoulder of all time
Thanks mate I was confused as you also had a bottle with blue liquid in it as well. Thanks for the clarification good video . I have a lee Enfield in 375 win and a 450 bushmaster but would love a 45 70 thanks for great video
I'm thinking you mean the small bottle of blue liquid next to my lead pot? That's two stroke oil for lubricating molds. 45-70's are a lot of fun, such a versatile cartridge to load for. Appreciate you watching!
When you take the concept of HEAVY hitting bullet too far.
3:34 America.
lol I do the same thing with Gelato Jars. they are perfecty for reloading
Definitely a stout plinking load:) kinda like taco plinking with a 500 s&w mag:) thats an awesome gun. I wanted one but built a .358 socom instead. Thanks for sharing the video!
You're not wrong, taco might have influenced my idea of what constitutes a plinking load haha. I don't intend to use it too often but my shoulder is glad it only took two trips to reach my goal velocity. Thanks for checking it out!
thats a dino killer for sure buddy!
Whooooo
Those gotta have some thump
Though personally I’d have loaded them as subs just tickling 1050 FPS
I won't push them past 1050 in my 458 socom SBR, so I have the subs covered. Figured I would have some fun with these. Thanks for checking it out!
@@ibtrippn08 probably devastating over that supersonic threshold, do you run the same casting through the 458socom?
@@RichardCranium321Yes I do, three different parts. Look for Loading 458 Socom - 600 grain Cast. Part 1 is my fourth or fifth video.
@@ibtrippn08 I recently acquired a Lee single stage when my uncle passed & my brother refurbishes re-certifies life rafts so has access to hundreds of pounds of pure lead in small taffy like strips as well as already cast .40" lead balls for the ballast & "rope ladder" used to enter the raft from the water. Most are still inside their fabric, not exposed to air & not corroded. I have a .450 bushmaster & .458 socom but ammo is fairly expensive & I've been considering getting the dies & bottom pour machine to take advantage of my situation. However, I was recently told that wheel weights are what you want & not "pure" soft lead. Any advice? Should I scrap the soft lead & just buy factory hardcast & jacketed? I've yet to even shoot the .450 due to lack of "decent" ammo availability, can't find for less than $1.90/rd
@@RichardCranium321 I would definitely not scrap the soft lead, or if you plan to I will gladly buy it off of you. If you've never checked out "castboolits.gunloads.com" there you will find all of the information you will need about casting bullets. Plenty of people sell clip on wheel weights or range scrap online, already melted down into ingots on that website as well in the swappin and sellin section. They aren't selling 24/7 but every couple of weeks they pop up. Even better if you can find some linotype, foundry type or mono type which are all pretty hard lead. Depending on what else you can find simply mix that with your pure lead (you will rind ratios to reach estimated hardness on that site) to bring the hardness up a bit. If you're still worried about the hardness then water quenching out of the mold adds a bit, as well as letting the bullets age for 3-4 weeks before you load them. If you plan to powder coat it changes the game a lot, if I am casting subsonic bullets I will just use whatever is in the pot at the time, unconcerned with the hardness. Either way even if you choose not to cast I still recommend reloading for 458 socom, there is such a broad array of projectiles out there.
Now THAT is some lead poisoning! Wow
that's a HOT round right there
Hunting wooly mammoths are we? Lol
Look at that recoil!
Subcribed because of awesome channel name and well made video.
I appreciate it!
i am going to try this,,,great video,,,,,,,,this is the real deal,,
The definition of masochism. A 300 grain hard cast bullet will shoot through five feet of grizzly bear.
When your round is so powerful it instantly cooks whatever you hunted
I saw this and said oh god we are gonna watch this
Appreciate you checking it out!
Nice rifle and those rounds are thumpers 👍👍
Thunderstruck.
Nice to see the same riff-raff hanging out around here. Thanks for the video. I need to get that mold in hollow point, the rg4. I have the 459-500 but more is better.
I have the rg4 of this mold but without the crimp groove. I've never tried to cast HP's before, might be time to try those single shot style.
@@ibtrippn08 NOE hollow points are a bastard, get the pins hot and get a bigger mold whacker. . see ua-cam.com/video/C9LJpIMjG8E/v-deo.html
I could use the flat sided hollow point, let me know if you wan't to sell or trade. I paper patch up to .468 for my martini henrys and I don't need the crimp grove.
Trail boss (is awesome) with those would make a nice round for back yard critters, quiet too.
Projectile sectional density value: All of it.
I can feel it
Not sure whats going through someones head to hit that dislike button, cuz man thats a sick round
Informative 👍😊👍
Nice video. That's a chunk.
Why couldn’t I have you as my next-door neighbor....
Awesome :)
This would be a great prank round
Gotta love a lever action.
I like my 4570 BFR revolver and I load lee mold 500 grain wheel weight lead powder coated up to 1,600 feet per second. You use the same muscles swinging a sledgehammer. It feels awsome .
Great video! That would be an awesome option to drop the powder down just a little to make a sub sonic monster.
Appreciate it. If you check my other videos, I run this bullet subsonic in my 458 socom. Keep a look out over the next few months for these 45-70 subsonic though. I recently had this barrel threaded :)
Exactly my thought!
Some day i hope to see an 800 grain 50-70
About the closest I can think of is full lead taco shooting 880 grain cast bullets from his 50 alaskan. I think those are subsonic, but still a lot of lead no doubt.
Wheel bearing grease works great to
i think these monstrosities would go all the way through a frikin elephant, christ
That’s a lot of lead!
when you hate shooting and need a reason to quit.
Those rounds went through the tree and hit the water behind the target. I had some 600 grain loads once you could see the shadow following them when they went down range in the bright sun.
I know it looks that way but it's simply a deceiving camera angle, they're passing by the right side of the tree. However there used to be some trees at the waterline which all conveniently broke about 3 feet up from the ground during a wind storm a while back and I found one of these in the stump. Now that's an idea, if I can get these on a long open range with some sun above i'll keep an eye of for the shadow. Thanks for watching!
@@ibtrippn08 they are big enough you might be able to see the shadow with a very sharp eye. The mk-19 has a max range of 2200 meters and I do remember being able to see those 40mm grenades sail downrange.
Nice cartridge for the BFR 45-70 revolver
It's shooting good see how low of a velocity you can go while it still groups acceptably out at a certain range that bullets so heavy you don't need much velocity go through anything still
Like spitballing a Boulder through a straw 😆
I wish I could get about 20 of those 28g rounds. Bye bye piggies!!
People talk about recoil like it’s bad. I love it! The 45/70 recoil is very distinctive. Unlike any other gun I’ve fired.
I'm sorry for the language but holy fucking balls that's a giant ass bullet.
I would buy about 100 of those for "special occasions"
600 grains of fury
Fury sounds too intense, these are closer to fun ;)
“Issa spicy meatball”
The water splash behind the target is like a 16 inch battle ship gun 😊
so that's what firing a train carriage from a rifle looks like.
Wow, it takes forever to fill those cavities. Those bullets are monsters.
The cavities don't seem to fill that slow when you go through a pound of lead in just 3 cycles of filling the mold. Empties the 20 pound pot pretty quick and makes you think you've been speeding through them!
Seems like a good candidate for a good suppressed round. Sub'd
I appreciate it, I need to get back into this stuff some day. If you check out my "big bore suppression" video I used a different load to keep these subsonic.
New sub taco sent me glad I came.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I prefer the Roll Crimp too. I've loaded the heavy Jae-Bok Young's, 45-70 cal, 0.459" diameter, 550gr WFNGC "Crater" Hard Cast (Custom Bullet Mold for New Marlin 1895sbl Short Throat)
reminds me of fishing weights
Ow, my shoulder
Watching those big bombs hitting the water behind the target was cool. 600 grains at 1300 FPS is ENOUGH lol😂👍🏻🇺🇸😬
I get a kick out it too, kind of hard to focus on that behind the target while shooting but it's fun to see when I start working with the footage. Yeah i'm not trying to push these anymore, i'm kind of glad this testing is over for now 🤣
I wanted to see the back of the tree
An good idea would be making those projectile out of Lyman #2 ingots (lead, tin and antimony).
I'll be trying out the Lee 500 flat nose in my Trapper soon but i have to use the Lee factory crimp die to do so.
Judging by the picture of the bullet i'm assuming you have to seat past the crimp groove in order to cycle them?
You should get a bullet catcher, that's a lot of lead to plink with. Awesome video btw. Thanks for sharing
A bullet trap is not far down my list of things to do. When I find some half inch plate steel for the right place I intend to weld one together. I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Great video that is one big ass pill to shoot
Appreciate it Willie
Man I wanna see these run through a suppressed lever action
geez my computer monitor fell over after the 1st shot !!
If they ever succeed in cloning mammoths or apatosaurs, it's good to know someone's ready.
When that happens I'll send you some, gotta help out a fellow random bald guy!
Thanks for watching!
yep. look what happened on Jurassic park
