With great sadness, we report that Jan Breytenbach died on 16 June 2024. He was a legendary officer. Therefore, we are rebroadcasting Steph Naude's tribute episode that came out originally on 31 Dec 2023 or 12-31-23 - a day that will never repeat again.
Steph Naude served with 32Bn Recce Wing before moving on to CSI - Military Intelligence where he stayed for years. This episode covers his views on famous SA soldier, Col Jan Breytenbach. RIP the Carpenter - we shall not see his like again. An inspiration as a warrior, writer, conservationist and unsurpassed leader of men. Your memory will be a blessing Oom Jan and my condolences to his family.

Sat next to Colonel Jan in Safair L100-30 returning from SWA border in 1976. Great man who chatted to me not sitting on his rank at all and made me feel relaxed. As a Bombardier only I was probably showing my nervousness. He completely relaxed me and made for a pleasant flight. R.I.P. Sir.

Jan Breytenbach sal NOOIT sterf nie. Hy sal atyd voortleef in ons harte en herinneringe deur sy dade. Een van die grootste ooit,…..nie net in SA nie.
