I simply loved everything. All the outfits were so cute. Ann seems to really like her new top. She should like it because it looks adorable on her. I liked the way you placed the feathers. Viv, you are adorable as always! Love your candor regarding the makes you don't like because it provides a great visual of what those pieces would look like on my figure...except for the fact that I'm only 5'3" but my figure is like yours. Your bird Cotton Lawn fabric from MOOD is absolutely amazing! Love the large bird placement at center front of your top. You are good either way with the skirt. The feathers only in front showcase the large bird without the print overpowering you. I LOVE it! And BRAVA for teaching your sister Anne how to make a garment for herself. The look on her face said it all! She is loving sewing and will soon become addicted like all of us ☺ Thank You Viv for sharing and inspiring all of us 💖
Anne did a beautiful job on her tunic! That fabric is perfect for her, both in color and drape. You’re very lucky to have her close enough to sew together! Hope she loves it as much as we do :) Love all your makes, you really have nailed fit for yourself! Oh, the shorts remake looks nice, just different. That happened to me last week, used a remnant from a previous top as a muslin for the Itch to Stitch Soller top. Love the muslin, fit is perfect without fba, narrow shoulder, length adjustments! So I finally used the piece of Stoff knit fabric I had been saving, content was the same, no changes to pattern, and the Stoff version is ugly, ugly, ugly :( I guess it just happens! Thanks for all you share with us!
And that’s exactly why I don’t sew Burda!!! Shots of Jäegermeister! Ha! That said , I have sewn the Simplicity 9274 top 4 times this summer! 2 Chambray, batik, and an India block print, I just love it!! The back yolk was new for me, and I deepened the front slit.

I don’t sew Burda either! I am glad to know it’s not just me. The photos don’t represent the finished product. To Me, the directions aren’t clear and details are often not well thought out. Life is too short to bother with Burda and I live in Berlin.

Great job on all your makes. The dress looks just so gorgeous on you. Love the print on it 👌. The kaki shorts are not that bad. Really like the white ones. It so happens I got that same pattern early spring and made a pair of light blue that looks like pâle jeans and I just don’t like them. Maybe I will try again with a different color 👍. And good job for Anne also. She did a great job and her tunic really looks beautiful. Suits her very well.
I found this channel last week, and now I have several 60's patterns from Ebay & a dozen patterns (New Look) from Simplicity on the way as well as 2 fabric orders en route😂. I don't know what's more enjoyable, seeing the patterns sewn up (on a real person) or your sense of humor🤣. Thanks for lighting a fire under my dormant apparel sewing. Anne's tunic looked fabulous on her, especially with the necklace. Regarding the Crane birds two piece for you - I liked the one bird, it made it immediately stand out . With more birds it seemed too busy and the whole bird on the top was no longer the focus. I love your videos - thanks so much for producing them!

HAHA.. love that .. i know the burda patterns and never got along with those and fully understand you. i find it amazing how you constantly challenge yourself with new patterns and work your way through them...i guess i particularly love your birdtop or - skirt worn separately to stand out even more, but worn together i think i like all bird in the front as well... its so exoticly japanese - this fabric- i wish , i would get my hands on it as well!!! amzing and well done!!! sunny regards from leipzig kerstin
I loved Anne's tunic. Material was perfect. The short set you don't like( I love them both on you) pretty fabric choices. All your outfits are perfect. I am so glad you had your sister with you today. How fun.
As I am watching this I have Simplicity 9334 in my hands ready to start cutting out. Hmmm, not sure if I will proceed as planned. I have also made Simplicity 9274 with the 3/4 sleeve and the top is lovely. The sleeve detail is beautiful. I plan on making it again but I will not make the notch thing in the front; it was difficult to sew and it flops open. I enjoy seeing your sister's and Anne's top turned out very nice.
It was great to see you, Anne. Love your fabric choice with the border at the hem. I like the length on you, as well. Tall and slender people look fantastic wearing any length, in my opinion. Length is about comfort level & personal preference. I am only 5' 3" so I must have my tunics shorter. Viv, if you cut that fabric on the bias it would have distorted the bird's (I think). Great choice to do it your way. Sorry, I am no help, I like your skirt either way. Your dress turned out perfect, great colors & great fit
Oh wow, I'm not the only one, s9331 I had a booger of a time also. Mine called for such a long piece of elastic in sleeves. So I kept thinking I sewed something wrong. Once I shortened the elastic it looks wonderful. I do love mine. Viv your sisters tunic is beautiful, love the print

As for the cranes, I always thought they should fly wherever they want to.😉 Your shorts looked very good, but I understand about the tight waist. If it's uncomfortable, I won't wear it. Your more dressy dress is lovely, beautiful fabric. We are so fortunate to have our sisters. I know I adore mine.
I just made the most fantastic discovery!!!!! I went into a thrift store near me run by a very large church in our city. When they get fabric donations they fold it neatly and tape with masking tape, writing the yardage and price! All…. Doesn’t matter what is $1.00 a yard!!!! Today I got an absolutely gorgeous 5 yards of silk with the brightest vivid colors!!!! So you might suggest for those getting upset when you show all your beautiful fabrics that often thrift stores can also be a source! I filled up my cart with hundreds of dollars worth of fabrics for a fraction of the cost had I purchased it new!
One bird on the top is beautiful and eye catching . Another bird on the skirt front really detracted from the look and pattern highlight. Brad outvoted. Lol. Such a lovely outfit.
All of the makes were wonderful. Anne did a great job. Not surprised about the Burda pattern. Made one once. Never again.!
I think Brad might be right, I like more birds to...gives a sense of movement. The linen Simplicity pants I like! What I hate are the pockets. I think the pants are more versatile without them. Ann did a fantastic job on her tunic and I wouldn't shorten it at all. As a tall woman it's hard to get tops long enough to wear with leggings and that is just perfect. I'm looks lovely on her and I'm sure she will love wearing it. That red top is a good color on you, Viv!

I think the sewing was ok, Viv, but maybe that burgundy-looking blouse would be better with a capri length-I am not really a garment sewer, though, so what do I know?

Anne was delightful! She’s certainly a good sport about showing up on your utube. She has a lovely figure just like you! And she did really well on her cute outfit. Loved the crane dress. Put the wings forward! All your makes were great. Not sure about the pockets on the front of the linen pants. I do think they would have looked better on the back. But oh well still a lovely make!
I made those big pocket pants, I like them and I did the bias binding, I made the pants in a crinkle fabric but I always make things too big so the next ones will be smaller.but I do like them and I did things I hadn’t done before. Haven’t sewn lots of things though. Love the skirt and top fabric.

I like the linen wide legs but I would put a different style pocket it makes it more casual
Side seam pockets I think or different size and shape
But they are nice with the orange top

Great fashion show. I love you sister’s tunic, in fact it was my favorite due to colors and style. I wouldn’t cut the length either in the back, gives a little special styling. Your crane skirt and blouse was so classy, elegant with hills or cute with sandals. Keep sewing. God bless!

Your sister did a great job with her tunic, of course with your guidance it was expected. The last outfit set is my favorite. It looks beautiful on you, I think beacuse you are tall you can really pull of the sizes if that print. I line really both looks with more birds made the S silhouette. The dress was pretty as well.

Too many birds for my tastes. It takes away from you. You would need a hat to balance all the pattern. It is just a little overwhelming for your body type and coloring. That is just my very humble opinion. I am not a stylist.

The fabric for the skirt and top with the tail feathers is fabulous. I like the tail feathers in front it looks so artist (pattern of tail feathers) and then the eye is really drawn to the bird. Perfect, looks designer to me. Excellent use of pattern!

The cranes are beautiful I go with Brad I like the cranes on the front of the skirt the way they lineup is a lot of movement and it turns out not to be too much print for you I love it. But just the tail feathers look pretty as well .the cranes in full are more dramatic
