Loved all your makes as usual. You have unique eye for fabric combinations. Especially liked the orange (rust) top.Much nicer than the pattern cover. In all fairness, though, you could make a dish rag look glamorous with your beautiful figure. Thanks for all your efforts.
Well, you've done it again girl! I really like your makes this month. The mono top/skirt and the OTHER top. I thought that pattern was SO UGLY on the envelope, but it is wonderful the way you made it up. I would love to try that one. The jacket/blouse is super cute. Wish I liked collars, but I don't on me. The sleeves were so adorable! I would strangle in that nightgown in bed, lol. You must be a very still sleeper. I always remove my pj pants and just sleep in the tops or the hem of the pants would be up in my crotch and turned completely backward. Same thing with long gowns. The entire bottom ends up wrapped around my waste two or three times! Of course, you always look great in a dress. Fun video as always.
I agree with that pattern. It looks amazing one color❤
The same thing happens to me with my bedclothes. I usually wear shorts or heavy sweats to bed depending on the weather.
"Vogue 9114, I'm lookin' at you." Hahaha!! You kill me, Viv!! All your makes are terrific. Merry Christmas, girl!!
Your makes are lovely and interesting!. I feel like an epic time waster as well, but oh well, I can’t and need not be busy every minute of the day. Nevertheless, I do have a rather large stack of fabric to work my way through. 😳😊
I just love how you are able to look past the envelope art and see the full potential of the pattern. The shirt you made with the kwik sew pattern is absolutely fantastic. I'd love to see how you did the cuffs. I probably would have skipped that part. Take care and happy stitching.
Sometime the under collar is smaller on purpose so the collar doesn’t flip up but when the fabric is tightly woven it would make it difficult to match up the edges but when you turn it after sewing, give it a press and it’s beautiful
Exactly what I was going to say. I remember almost everything I made in the 70's had that, it's why you cut 1 upper and 1 lower instead of 2 the same.
Thankyou for that, makes sense. Good to know.
Love every single make, love the colours and the styles, they all suit you so well 💕
Viv you keep out doing yourself. Your makes for November are beautiful. I love the way you pair the fabric to the patterns. Well done.
Thank you for giving us details about the patterns and fabric. Your reviews about successes and challenges are so helpful.
Hi Viv, loved all of these makes. Well done as usual. The last dress looks perfect on you.
I like the way the last dress fits you. I don't think it looks large at all. I would like to say that in my humble opinion, you should consider a slight sway back adjustment on some of the garments that you make. The November makes are all beautiful and I love all of the fabrics. As always, you are an inspiration.
I think you're right about the adjustment and an fba would help too.
Loved everything, Viv! Thanks for sharing!
That pocketed shirt is a killer. Just so flattering. I wish I could do collars like you do. Perfection!!!
Wow, a lot of pretty makes. Really liked the rust sweater with the overlap detail. Thanks for sharing.😊
VivMom, Great "fashion show" today. My fav: the batik blouse with pockets! Also loved the last dress fabric; I have my Dad's shoulders, so raglan sleeves soften that area. All great looks...don't stress out for the Dec makes...just have fun with a few.
And another home run! I'm so glad I watch your videos, they're inspirational.
My favorite time of month is when your monthly makes come out! I’m learning from you how to look past the photos on the patterns. I especially loved the mono top and skirt and the last dress but everything looks great on you! Merry Christmas to you and yours and thank you for keeping so many of us inspired to sew ❤️
hi Viv, some lovely makes! I especially liked the straight skirt with both tops and your dress with ruffled sleeves at the end. Sending good vibes from Sydney, Australia
Love that wrap dark orange top! But honestly, You look great in everything! ❤️♥️you inspire me to make beautiful clothes for myself and family ;))
You make my heart smile every time. I love all your makes. Your personality shines through the screen, Viv! I just love you. 💕
Hi Anita! Right back at you! I first saw you on Pattern Review years ago and thought WOW she is so beautiful and talented. It is always a treat for me when you pop over here; many, many thanks!! It’s actually a brush with greatness - you’re sewing royalty and you’re a hugely successful published author. Hats off, milady, hats off!!👏👏❤️
Another amazing makes video! Absolutely love your style!
You always look great in your clothes. Love your enthusiasm.
And I’ve been a seamstress for many years and you have taught me something about fabric. So thank you.
My favorite was the Kwik Sew with the overlay. Yours is much nicer than what was featured on the envelope. What a smart decision to use the same fabric for both sections. Everything was great, even the pajamas with the funny pocket placement. :)
Thank you xx I loved the 'monochromatic' outfit!! just gorgeous xx
Beautiful makes and beautiful fabrics. Really nice pattern choices. I truly enjoy your videos.
Great makes, everything looks beautiful on you💐
Great makes, everything looks beautiful on you💐
Viv, I love how you make up complete outfits! It’s so much fun seeing what patterns you put together. You are such a good example. This month’s makers are all gorgeous. I really like the batik shirt. I think a term has been coined for it: it’s a shacket. I wasn’t interested in shackets until I saw yours though! I really like the cuff detail and the pockets! What a great idea to use on a shirt pattern even if it doesn’t come with them! Everything looked so nice on you. I like your trim ideas. I rarely think of those details so you are very inspirational. I’ve never seen that Kwik Sew overlay tie top. I love it! It’s always such a happy, relaxing treat to watch your videos!!!💕 Merry Christmas a little early. Enjoy your family and the month!
P.S. “Epic time waster.” Such a silly! Just call it creative research!
Love em all! That last dress is adorable! I have threatened to sew that exact view and haven't quite got there yet but now I HAVE to after seeing yours. That print is just gorgeous!
Beautiful makes as always! Thank you for sharing!
Love your Makes. You look great in them. These videos are inspiring. Thank you.
your dark brown pants fit beautifully, you just need to press in a front & back crease by lining up the inseam & out seam, & you will see what a difference there will be.....your jacket blouse is a classic, & I always add 3/8" to the 1/4" seam allowance so I have the 5/8" seam allowance I'm used to having.....love the last dress & the fit is perfect for the style it is supposed to be.....always fun to see your makes..........
As usual, a very good video, wonderful sewing. Thankyou so much. You have inspired me.
Very nice outfits! I especially love the fabric for the shirt/jacket. It is just beautiful.
So many lovely things! My favorite is the blouse with pockets.
Omg…. You are amazing and inspirational. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe x
Everything you made looks great on you as always!
Lovely makes! My favorites are the skirt and the two dresses!!
I think the last one would make a cute Christmas dress. Thanks for sharing. Happy holidays!
Beautiful! I especially loved that gorgeous burnt orange top with the long skirt & grey boots. The color looks lovely on you & you looked so put together! Lord Jesus bless you & yours....Old Grandma👵❤🎄☃️🎄☃️🎄☃️🎄
Great makes Vivmom. I especially I love the wrap top. By the way, I have a friend who likes to say she makes everything in size "E" for elastic LOL :-)
Loverly makes, the last dress is my Favourite. 👍
Lol, Childbirth, just as well we forget, or we wouldn't have more than 1.
TFS, & take care too everybody. ❤🙂🎅🎄
Oh goodness!!!!! I never would have picked that Quick Sew based solely on their pattern picture!!! But you had vision beyond which I’m trying to do!!! I absolutely loved the burnt orange wrap too, SO FLATTERING on you!!!! I feel like I’m beginning to gain confidence based on your beautiful results with fabric and patterns!!!! You are truly inspirational!!! Thank you for taking time to make these videos for us!!!! This morning I watched one where you are saying you are dragging your feet on getting a new camera and microphone and I am with you there!!!!! I’m 64 and I’m doing the same thing as when I walk in to Best Buy it is so overwhelming I just want the revolving door!!!! Your videos are wonderful in my opinion, your sound is always good and it is just such wonderful content! You get right down to what you are presenting and that is what I love!!!!
Viv, all so nice on you. You are super-woman getting so much accomplished.
Love the childbirth/ dinner comparison…worth it in the end…hahaha you haven’t met my kids!
Very gorgeous orange sweater knit top and the last dtess very nice drape....Love all your makes!
Oh, Viv…I love your two piece, monochromatic number, but when you replaced the top with the orange wrap-around….Wowzer! It knocked my socks off! In addition, I’ve been wanting to make a “shacklet” for winter and I think I like this make the best of all I’ve seen! I can’t imagine, however, sewing a garment with a quarter inch seam allowance! All that being said, you certainly saved the best for last…the final dress is a knock-out! Those sleeves…that neckline…and that fabric! Bravo, dear lady. Bravo!
I would like any of those outfits in my closet!
Your a funny gal! 🤣 Lovin' your makes!
Thank you Vivian, your makes are all beautiful and look gorgeous on you! I enjoyed the video and am looking forward to the next one. 💖
My fav was the smart batik blouse. The style and colors Look stunning on you!
I wanted to comment on no 2 make , the sweater but after watching all of your makes , hey they are juste beautiful. Dresses and skirt outfit are 👌. Well done 👍 you are really an inspiration.
You always choose such lovely fabrics for your projects. I wish I had your imagination but you do inspire me to look beyond the pictures on the front of a pattern.
I loved outfit #1! The top from Kwik sew with the side swoop and the last one, but I must say, what wouldn’t look good on you. All your makes are lively.
I loved outfit #1! The top from Kwik sew with the side swoop and the last one, but I must say, what wouldn’t look good on you. All your makes are lively.
I loved all of your makes! Seems to me I like more and more of your choices all the time. I especially like the first set. Good fabric choices!
Especially love the burnt orange wrap top. Did not like the picture on the pattern. Good for you to see past that, as the top is so pretty with such fun lines. Liked all your makes. The cotton shirt with pockets is a style I like for my everyday life. Great video.
Hello Viv , I loved all your sews but I really love the blouse . It looks very nice with jeans . I’m going to try and find a pattern close to yours .
Love your choices. Looks fantastic!
Really loved the white dress gotta sew that . Thanks viv great job !
Love all your makes , you give me so much inspiration!😊
That rust colored kwik sew top was stunning! You should have been the model on the cover. Those two on the cover stunk! I really would like that pattern. You had a lot of lovely makes this month!
I love all the styles you created for this month. The colors look so nice on you. The last dress you made is really cute and looks like a holiday outfit. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and thank you for sharing your makes with us.
Great round of garments! Would love to to see a month dedicated to party attire. What do you think?
I really like the orange rust wrap top. Good content video. Keep inspiring.
I did an out loud “WOW”! when you showed the rust top with the skirt and then you showed the horrifically ugly pattern cover! How you saw past that is awesome. I am always anticipating the end of the month for your sews.
Oh Viv I LOVE the last dress, the design and print are beautiful. I did get a chuckle out of the two patterns you held up. The pants with the goofy tie down low and the crossbody top. I saw them at Joann's and passed because they looked goofy. But you did it again, something ugly you made beautiful. Thanks again lady for the sight unseen
I hope you had a merry Christmas and have a blessed new year
These are wonderful I love that last dress and the wrapped top . Based in the cover I would have passed that one up but you made it worthy
You are an inspiration to me. Blessings!
I like all of your makes, especially the dress.
Your versions of patterns ALWAYS look better than the pattern pics! Thank you for sharing!!
Gorgeous outfits Viv, the last dress especially, the fabrics are all very pretty.....!! 🌞
Beautiful! I love to see all your makes. You make me smile!
Great night gown. Looks like a fun make. Hey Georgie girl! I love those pants. The whole outfit is a hit. Love all your makes.
Viv, loved everything you made for November, especially the last dress, so pretty!!! Judy
Hooray for a “makes” video! Your makes are always so fun! Thanks fo sharing! Stay well! ☺️
All of these look so nice. The million dart dress is amazing. You can't beat dollar a yard fabric! I haven't found any in ages. These outfits just got prettier as you went along. I love the orange theme! Absolutely everything about that white floral dress is gorgeous.
All beautiful makes on you. A successful month I’d say! Love the retro black and white floral dress the most. Top marks!
I like the last dress that you made in the larger size, it fits nicely over your bust and floes nicely over your hips, it looks really cute!
I loved every thing. I think I'm a time waster as well , yet you know there aren't a lot of people who would do as much sewing as you and I, so it is probably how we see ourselves not as others see us.
I love the blouse with the pockets and cute sleeves and the comfortable dress. I would like that dress for church. Love it! Thank you for such a great pattern reviews.. I might try ordering some ITY fabric again. I don't particularly like knits on me except Ponte knit. Merry Christmas Viv.
I like everything you made! I don’t think I have ever made a nightgown, but need to do so. I like long sleeves in winter, and that’s a cute pattern. I really like the fabric on that last dress! Need to try to hit that sale! Beautiful dress!
That retro Simplicity 9447 pattern picture looks so much like my mom and the ladies back in her day I almost gasped! I like the brown pants outfit most and last dress..the neckline, sleeves, and love the Christmas colors of that one.
Just got some fabric from FabricMart that I ordered after seeing one of your videos. Surprise, surprise, it's a rayon challis. Can hardly wait to make up a dress for my wife for Christmas with it because this is the fabric I've been searching for a long time. Thanks for the inspo.
Yay!!👏👏
I love seeing your makes! You seem to get alot done! The last dress was adorable on you! Thanks for sharing!
The last 2 makes were my favorite. The shirt jacket, as you called it, had fantastic colors. The white dress with the ruffle sleeves was a looker. Merry Blessed Christmas!
Hey!!! I love Bozo pants. 😂😂Just made some today. Great makes Viv. Merry Christmas!🎄🙏🏼❤️🌵🇺🇸
Bozo will always have a place in our hearts😃
Lovely makes Viv! I especially like the rust top paired with the skirt. So true that you need to look at line drawings versus pattern covers on so many patterns! You have a gift for pairing fabrics with patterns and thank you for sharing that with us!
YAY!!!!!! ❤ Thank you Thank you For listing your pattern numbers in your description!!!!!! I purchased a pattern today that I was certain was one you had sewn something really gorgeous out of! I was about to fire off a question to you about the episode that had the particular pattern 8909. So, before I did that I typed in search Vivmom 8909 and it popped right up!!! What do you know!!! At 64 yrs I’m still learning! Joann has Simplicity $1.99 right now but my JoAnn store is not stocked well at all! They evidently don’t have enough people to stock because there are always empty drawers, boxes of patterns unopened, etc!!!! So frustrating! Is there anyway to contact you by email or other social platform? If I want to send you a picture of something I make that is totally inspired by you How would I do that? I might start putting sewing projects up on pattern review, but right now all I’m going to be making is pajamas, robes, tights, etc…. For grandkids so nothing too exciting!😊
Hi Leah, you can always message me on Instagram if you’re there (my page is Vivmomsews) or you can email me at gramcan@juno.com ~ I will warn you that I am AWFUL about checking email. Bravo to your sewing!!👏👏
Your makes are great as usual. The black and white retro dress trimmed in black lace looks amazing on you. It must have come from a shop on 5th Avenue. So enjoyed this months makes.
Aw how sweet! Thank you Karen!
You are so inspiring!! I have dusted off my sewing machine and am in the process of completing pajama pants for my grandkiddos :) Fun to have fabric under my needle again :)
"...but no one's gonna see me in this"...(uhhhh, 1.5K views as of this writing) 😂😂 I love your creativity! Your videos are always inspiring and entertaining ❤️
Uh oh!!😂
I always love to see you put pockets into your clothes. I once worked for JCPenneys Corporate office in their consumer research department. They did research on sample clothing they got from the manufacturer on such things as: 1). How many buttons do we put on a shirt; 2) How long of a zipper; 3) do we put trim on; 4) how long do we make a pant leg or sleeve; 5) how many stitches do we put around a pocket; (Double or single); 6) do we put a pocket on the jacket; 7) how long do we make a top or dress; 8) how many holes in the button (2 or 4)? They did this primarily to determine if they can add cheaper accessories, less thread, less fabric, etc. The lighter the color the cheaper the fabric (less dye). This allows them to trim costs when they can, fall within budget, and still make a profit. After seeing you put in pockets AND realizing the convenience of having pockets on my clothes as a place to put keys and a doggy bag when walking my dog, or a Kleenex in pjs or a dress…. I have begun to wonder if a pocket was the last thing on their mind. And I’m beginning to think leaving a pocket off any outfit is a grave mistake. Keep doing what you do! And continue to encourage everyone to add pockets.
This was so interesting, DebraKay, thanks! I have marveled at how manufacturers can keep cutting back and cutting back and cutting BACK to save money...just examining ready to wear clothing blows my mind - such tiny seam allowances and no waste “details” (if you can find them.) It’s such a pleasure to sew and make things the way we like them!😃
I am hooked on your videos, Viv, and I found myself counting the November days until you released your monthly makes! All are marvelous, and you wear them so well, as always! The icing on the cake is the final make, that gorgeous dress. Husband said "write that number down and get that pattern"! Wish I could also get that fabric. I can't tell you how much you inspire me. I just retired and love my sewing room, where I would spend most days, if I could. Keep up this awesome work, and enjoy holiday preparations and celebrations🌲
Hi Nancy! Thanks so much for this lovely message. It’s true that fabric dot com is sold out of the Telio rayon challis I used for that last dress, but I found something similar (at a higher cost) on amazon. Try this link and look at the “ecru” selection. Might catch your fancy!
www.amazon.com/Telio-Selena-Challis-Floral-Fabric/dp/B08NFKBWSX?th=1&psc=1
Well, you've done it again! What a great wardrobe you have! My favs are the jacket collar shirt (and YES, the pockets are wonderful) & the last dress is a huge winner.
Merry Christmas to you & your family!
Happy Sewing
You are sew amazing
I was so excited to see that your November makes video was up!! Loved them all! I agree with the other, that your being able to see past the pattern envelope cover is amazing. Beautiful clothes. Thank you for taking the time to do your videos..I enjoy it so much!
WOW WOW WOW! So pretty! Gorgeous outfits! You model them perfect! You put on the BEST makes videos ever! You are so blessed! You just blew me away today! 🤗 Thank you so much!!! ❤️
Thanks for sharing, Viv. I like every one of your makes.
Oh Viv I LOVE the last dress, the design and print are beautiful. I did get a chuckle out of the two patterns you held up. The pants with the goofy tie down low and the crossbody top.
