Theme Hospital is one of the all time greats. This sounds like nothing but a fantastic extension of it. MUST-BUY for me.
This game doesn't have male only doctors and female only nurses though, total fail!

I remember the intro, the doctor playing dungeon keeper in the staff room, seeing the helicopter coming in. The superhero moment, the confident wink. The credit card check, the... chainsaw? What?! Not insured? WHY IS THE PATIENT FALLING DOWN A TRAP DO- Oh, it's a parody of the US hospital system....

yeah I looked it up for just for memory sake and for some resin I can only remember the cane and the eyes but it wasn't eyes it glasses hat and shoes lol ( no coat ) still fun we game I am willing to try this new one out

Holy feck Mack, me heart skipped a beat when I saw the title you were reviewing! Glad to hear your thoughts on the game: first as an old school gamer who's played Theme Hospital , secondly whether I should actually preorder this. Thanks a bunch for getting out the review quick, can't wait to play this as I was a huge fan of Theme Hospital back in the day and nothing as of this time has even come close to holding a candle to it!
It looks like they definitely got the humour in it and the quirky animations not seen outside The Sims or Evil Genius, nothing like a good old chuckle as you're playing a game. One thing I don't like however is the UI: looks childish, like something you'd play on the iPad. Mind you, we come along way from games that look like interactive spreadsheets, although I do hope there'll be mods to change the UI or even replicated the original game.
I'm sure I remember one of the VIP guests on Theme Hospital was called Billy Saville XD

Felt like such a fraud when I first heard that, but then it became part of every day life in Theme Hospital.
I forgot this game was out tomorrow so glad to see you got a review up today for it. I can't wait to play it all day tomorrow on my day off. This is one of those games where they had one job: remake and modernise theme hospital and just seemed to have done that really well.

My grandad woeked as a porter in a large UK hospital during the 80's and 90's. He said Mr Saville spent quite a lot of time in the morgue.

Theme Hospital is pure nostalgia - I bought it on GOG a while back and played it through - forgot how hard it gets towards the later levels! This game just looks like an upgraded version and I love it... the best bit is that they re-used the same voice actor for the PA system!
Great review Mack, I was on the fence about getting this. Just wondering if you've heard of Project Hospital which is out 30th October. Its seems to be more serious management but looks fantastic.

Just came off a session of Tom Clancys The Division, which was a fun co-op, 100% off PUBG which was my go to multiplayer game (either with/without mates) and I need something new that isn't just single player
Wow, I am unexpectedly happy that they made a sort of sequel! I had nightmares about the intro as a kid where the doctor would saw the patient in half! Its amazing how similar the game is! Quite the flood of nostalgia
yeah, the mechanics are the same, the missions are the same. It's a flood of nostalgia, if anything it's too similar. 90% of the missions you get a feeling of de ja vu because the missions in theme hospital were the exact same scenario.

It's super awesome that they used the same voice actor for the PA system as in Theme Hospital.
Been following this since announced and had high hopes they’d bring us a modern theme hospital. Looks like the even exceeded my hopes! Was a big fan of Bullfrog Games, their games had heart and often, unique intriguing gameplay.

I still have fond memories of popping the over inflated heads, the sound of people throwing up, the guy having an anurism squeezing one out in the toilet and of course THE RECEPTIONIST! Lol

Theme Hospital was one of the first games I was able to play on my slow, grey monstrosity of a PC back in the nineties. I got it in a bundle with Command and Conquer and the original Age of Empires. Playing those three games, I was hooked on gaming for life. I am downloading this now, and I'm so excited to play. Theme Hospital is a timeless classic, and I hope this lives up to that. Hopefully a mod comes out soon so you can play the Theme Hospital music over the in-game music, too. That would complete the experience :D

I think the greatest achievement that I've seen so far is how the receptionist role is now wider and actually a person that needs breaks, food, toilet time etc. Few things annoyed me back in the day but that was a pet peeve for me. Very curious about what might come out in the future as dlc etc.
Can you only play pre-build hospitals or can you build a hospital from scratch if you want?
Wait for Project Hospital, THIS is a real Hospital Simulation, with real diseases, real treatment, real equipment and even OP‘s.

I never played Theme Hospital, but this game definitely seems like a worthy buy. It's not battle royale, it's not assassin's creed, it's not mindless shooter, it's a breath of fresh air (for 2018).
If it's like the old Theme Hospital, it will be a blast.
As a theme hospital player I've been looking forward to this for a long time after failed attempts such as hospital tycoon etc.. finally a successor to such a great game. Really glad it's getting positive feedback and going to buy today

Great review! I was looking on the app store for Theme Hospital the other day. Hadn't played it since the 90s! This could be a great new alternative. Yes, the funny diseases were always hilarious. I have memories of people with bloated heads all being sick everywhere because my staff weren't cleaning up the sick quick enough and the infections just spread. Nightmare!
I loved theme hospital, Bullfrog made a few great games in the 90s!, The announcer sounds like the same person from theme hospital too! I can't wait to give this ago! I remember the Bloaty head syndrome and they had to pop it and re-inflate to normal size haha and the slack tongue haha

I enjoyed theme hospital back in the day. This looks just like that did in my minds eye, though I suspect my memory is fooling me in this regard. Really glad this is a solid game and cool to hear some of the original people from the first game worked on it.
Theme hospital was awesome. This looks even deeper, hiring office staff, changing wages and prices for treatment etc.
Ah, yes. The good old days of Bloaty Head, Slack Tongue, Heaped Piles, TV Personalities, etc.! Loved that game back then and I'm glad I heard about this new game here. Thank you, Mack!

Please don't forget to interview Project Hospital once it releases :). It's an another Hospital simulator but takes on more realism and serious style than Two Point Hospital. I love how 2 companies made two different Hospital games: one is for realism and serious while other one is comedically and has funny stuff with some sense of humor.
Yea i think they both go for their own audiences. TPH is for casuals and stuff. Project Hospital is for more serious peeps

lol i love how one of the cons is listed as ONE bug encountered. U can tell the devs put alot of effort in polishing up this gem for release.

I used to play Theme Hospital when I was 11 or 12. I didn't know what I was doing but it made me hate hospitals. Like I really felt bad thinking about all the sick characters. I was terrible and never did a good job running my hospital. I would like to see how much better I can do now.
Unrelated to the video but, what ever happened between Mack and Mesh? I asked mesh on his stream if they are ever going to do stuff together again and he said no without any explanation. Anyone know if something happened or if they just grew apart? P.S. great vid make as usual keep up the great work :)

So glad they made this well. Great game. Mack do you remember a game called "constructor" from the same era of games but the remastered it early this year. Not had a chance to play it yet but id love to see a WAB on it before buying.

We need more successors to older games, be they spiritual, literal remakes or long delayed sequels.
But not reboots or the-imaginings, those mostly end up as brain dripping out of your ear hole shorty titles.
I would really want a new settlers-style game, or something along Majesty fantasy kingdom sim.

I know I'm gonna get stick for this but I would love this game to come to the switch. Play this on a plane trip or actually at hospital. NHS waiting times of 5 to 8 hours is the norm these days.
