#1 Scenery! Most scenic mountains in the country. Yes! A close second though is also in Wyoming, Pilot Peak, and Index Peak in the Absaroka range along Chief Joseph Highway East of the northeast entrance to Yellowstone. 😊

The Grand Tetons will absolutely be my favorite place in this country to camp. I am so familiar with many of those places. I only did boondocking camping since I lived and traveled in a van. The land itself teaches you so much on how to survive and enjoy its beauty. I look forward to being able to return there once again soon. Thank you for this amazing video!

Guys, thanks so much for reminding my wife and I that we live so close to the most beautiful areas on Earth, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park! The area is a little tough in the winter, which lasts 6 to 8 months, but we honestly hope for a severe winter every once in awhile to keep the faint hearted south! thanks again, great video!

  • @dashlamb9318

Camped at Gros Ventre Slide in circa 1979. I was 28. I remember it like it was yesterday - the beauty of the area was only exceeded by the beautiful girl I was with. Married her in 1981. She continues to put up with my low down ways after all these years. Like the John Prine/Iris DeMent song, "In Spite of Ourselves." Thankyou Grand Teton National Park!

Hi Kristy and Sean - Thank you for making your extraordinary videos; we just concluded a big family trip to Grand Teton and used your video as a guide to plan our trip; followed your tips and it was all perfect! The Bird was the best Wings! I have to add one comment regarding your reference to Taggart Lake hike being easy! That was like an hour on a stair climber!! But we did it and enjoyed it! I agree with you that Jackson and Grand Teton is perhaps the best area in America to recreate. Keep doing what you do; hope to meet you someday. John Lehman So Cal

Your comment is much appreciated. It takes a lot of effort to put together some of these videos and it's nice to know that a few people notice. I really enjoy trying to "raise my game" from time to time. Sometimes I wish I didn't care so much... my goal in the future is to become more amateurish, lol But sincerely, thanks...

My wife and I went to Mormon Row and saw the Moulton barn in September of 2016 on our way back from Yellowstone. We entered the area on a paved road off the highway....did not hit much if any mud except for the little parking area by the barn. We unfortunately were plagued by overcast and rain on our way to Jackson Hole, Wyoming so the Grand Tetons did not look so grand when you can't see them. Really wished we would have had better weather that day. With the stormy background behind the barn we did get some excellent photos. The barn is one of the most photographed structures in Wyoming. Really enjoy you guys and all the wonderful tips and experiences you have. We almost got a travel trailer but upkeep, storage and expenses on a retirement income just was not going to work out...plus...we are in our 70's. So we travel in our SUV and rough it in the motels, lodges and cabins. Keep up the videos love to travel with you guys on UA-cam. Fred Fleming/Houston, Texas

I know this is a couple years old but I just ran across your channel. As to your badger encounter, coyotes and badgers will often hunt together. One will flush a rodent and the other will nab it. I don't know if they have an agreement but they seem to have learned that they get more meals together than alone.
Gros Ventre is my favorite base camp in the Tetons. Have had mama moose with new twins nursing right by my camp.

Great show as always! We stayed two days at the Virginian. Clean and friendly but put in mind of staying at a drive in theater lot, just no speaker post! LOL On a different note I want to say we had some mechanical issues while in Jackson and the local diesel shop fixed me up fast and very reasonably! The point is that I have found western folk SO amazingly willing to help out strangers in trouble and sometimes for little or no compensation. I'm sure it happens east of the Mississippi too but props to my western helpers!!

Did the Stagecoach Bar in "1983". Had dinner and stayed for the music and dancing. I think it was a Sunday night. There was a live western band. The place was packed. At 10 o'clock they pulled the plug and it was over. I was told that the cowboys had to work in the morning. Was a great experience. Also Snake River Brewery can't be missed. Love your Vids?

One of my favorite places too. "Jaw dropping" is a perfect description. Been there many times. I will say to anyone watching this who has never visited Grand Tetons and Yellowstone plan it for your next vacation. We love the Town Square Tavern and saw the shoot out. Really fun. Chippy's Kitchen and Catering. Very tasty although they did not offer many choices. We also went to Cowboy cookout where you ride in a covered wagon and thy have a big cookout. Really fun with little kids. Had some Indians "attack" us. Maybe planning a late summer trip. But I camp in a tent always :-)

New subscriber here. Thanks for the great video! Growing up in the 60s and 70s, every summer we would spend 2 weeks in the Tetons, transitioning over the years from a tent trailer to a travel trailer to a motor home. My dad and I would fish for trout, my mom would paint the Tetons. Camped in either Colter Bay, Signal Mountain or Gros Ventre. Jackson Hole is my favorite place on earth, and the things you talk about in your video and your advice is spot on. Thanks again!

Enjoyed this video immensely! You captured the grandeur of the Tetons very well. My first visit was in 1968 and for a 16 year old flat lander it was the most spectacular site I'd ever seen. Winters are just as impressive, if not more so. Guess scenes of the Tetons are why Shane is my favorite western movie of all time.

Thanks for the great video Long Long Honeymoon. We went there for the first time late August into early Sept 2019. We went big on the tours and loved them all. Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Snake River Rafting. Defo a bucket list place. We stayed at the Teton Mountain Lodge. It was the most expensive hotel room I've ever booked. But it was all that. It had the best rooftop hot tub and fireplace patio and mountain view that I've ever even heard about. The lobby was a great place to hang in the evening, brilliant fireplace that the staff must operate the fireplace. (Don't test them, they have their rules.) Lots of great food and pricing choices within walking distance from the village. High end grocery prices on spirits wine and beer within walking distance (still very holiday pricing affordable). I would recommend this place to anybody who is looking for a real western mountain wildlife experience. It was everything and more than I expected. The peeps in Jackson are top notch. Cant wait to get back. D & L Kennedy, 11/2019 .

Thank you so much for the tips. Going back to The Tetons for the 6th time in 2 weeks, but the first time in an RV. I've always wanted to know where that barn is and now I know. Two things I would recommend; Visit and hike The Laurence Rockefeller Preserve off Moose Wilson Rd. and take the tram out of Teton Village to the top and hike down.

    A Badger! nice.
I was watching something on TV about Badgers right there in the Teton s.
They put a GPS tracker on one and when released it literally went straight up one side of the mountains and down the other, in a matter of hours. Straight shot!
    Love the videos!

Had a business of town square, really was fun. But a small split level home on a matchbook lot is over $1 mil. When I sold my neighborhood was all second homeowners and rentals. Not the same, but go in September! And use the paper to find dinner specials.

My wife and I totally love Jackson Hole. Love boondocking in the BTNF and Gros Ventre is also our favorite NP campground. I wanted to say (shout out) the Virginian is awesome! Its a great little place to go once you've done a few weeks in the woods and you want to hang out in Jackson. We don't usually do full hookup rv resorts, but this place is a part of Jackson. Love it. Stumble home. Good times. Not all great places get 5 stars. I left a day early and they gave me a refund, God love them.

Great review of my hometown. If you go back into your video, and the gentleman playing the banjo at the Stagecoach Bar is Bill Briggs. He is the first person to ski the Grand Teton. He also taught a bunch of local kids how to ski. I and believe the ranch you're referring to is the Triangle X ranch. Great job. Many happy travels.

A badger is not an animal you want to surprise in the wild. If provoked, they can tear you to pieces. A friend's daughter just got a job in Jackson. I warned her to watch out for the moose. I have always wanted to winter camp in Yellowstone. I know one campground is open year round. I'd be willing to try it in the Grand Teton too, if possible.

I agree. Grand Teton NP is probably my favorite of all the NP's we've visited so far. Love the mountains. We found it interesting that one of the campsites you camped in at Gros Ventre CG was the exact some one we were in back in June 2018. It is a fantastic site. Great views, but not far from the river, nor too far from the camp facilities.
I also agree, everyone that goes to GTNP should go to Schwabacker's Landing. Unfortunately, the water was ripply due to a light wind. One of the best pictures I took in GTNP was with my smart phone. In fact, I had my sister, a good artist, paint that picture for me. By the way, the beavers have left Schwabacker's Landing, so a ranger, we met on our walk, told us.
I also liked very much Lower Inspiration Point above Jenny Lake. For an overweight old man, it was quite the hike, but well worth it.

I was really curious about your opinion and views because I'm from Wyoming (not near Jackson). Tourism is one of the main sources of income for our economy, so thanks for promoting it. Beaver ponds do make for fantastic photography. Moose can also be found in the Medicine Bow Range, we see them pretty regularly. The wildlife in the Tetons are much more used to people in general, so you're definitely more likely to see them there. They are technically called Pronghorns, but everyone I know calls them antelope. Fun fact, there are more antelope in Wyoming than people. The people here are honestly amazing. I know what you mean about the "unspoiled" feel. Most of Wyoming has that, and it's one of my favorite things about the state. Loved the video, thanks for loving my home state!

Next year trip for sure. I was going to go this year when I visited Yellowstone National Park. But I decided not too because I think Yellowstone needed an entire week to explore. I didn't do all that I wanted to do at Yellowstone. It's such a big park. So next year, I will be in the Teton for a week and two weeks at Yellowstone. Then one week at Glacier National Park. Hopefully, the forest fires are not to crazy next year.
