  • If you struggle sewing with foam stabiliser for making bags, this video is for you! I demonstrate how to prepare foam stabiliser for sewing, so that you can reduce bulk and get a really great finish on your bag-making project.
I use a domestic sewing machine for all of my sewing, so you can be confident that you will be able to achieve the same results as I do.
Download the FREE PDF foam preparation guide here: www.hazelapatterns.co.uk/tuto...
    Products used in this video:
Vlieseline Style-Vil sew in foam stabiliser (although other brands work too)
Vlieseline T15 flexible seam tape (or strips of a lightweight fusible interfacing)
    You will also need:
A free-flowing fine pen, your prepared fabric pieces, your pattern
The pattern I used for this video is the Slim Laptop Sleeve. There is a full video tutorial available for this pattern. Buy it here: www.hazelapatterns.co.uk/my-p...

I have found that the fusible pellon doesn't like sticking to wool blend fabric, I was making a bag and had to give up trying to get it to stick, just sewed it while it was half stuck haha!

I hope the seam tape works better for you. It is easy to re-fuse if it does come adrift!

Hi Jan, they are silver ring splints. I have very hypermobile thumb joints and the rings provide support. They are great for people with arthritis too!

@@hazelapatterns540 Thank you, my dear. I have had carpal tunnel surgery and my right thumb never got back its feeling. I wonder if these would help stabilize it. Thank you again, Jan

@@janwormuth9739 if you are in the UK, I got mine from Ring Splints by Zomile. She has a Facebook shop and possibly an Etsy one too. She is really helpful! I would have had to stop sewing without my ring splints, so they are definitely worth a try.
