    Thank you, Vanessa. Even though I am an experienced sewer this information was very helpful, especially the idea of making samples to keep for reference.

    This video convinced me to subscribe! Your years of experience teaching shows - this was such a useful and clear quick lesson. I love your idea of making samples so we always know how it will hold up. I live in a country where Pellon, decovil etc are not easily available and I’m always confused on what to buy but this really helps. Thank you!

    Hi, can you speak about decovil and decovil light. When and where to use it? Is it different than foam. Today’s video was very helpful. And your suggestion about making samples is genius. Thank you for sharing your talents.

    • @Heart2HeartCreations
      @Heart2HeartCreations Рік тому +1

      I believe that would be like the two options that were on our left of the screen. The left one being like the “Deco Heavy” and the right one being like the “Deco light”, I think these are just different brands. I would love to know if my assumptions are way off base though!

    • @gailthecrafter
      @gailthecrafter Рік тому

      I understand what you are saying but I’ve held decovil an it is more structured and rubbery. I use foam and it is nothing like decovil.

    Great information! I do have a bag I’d like to make. It’s like your little cube basket but I want to put an all around double tabbed zipper to attach the top to the sides. With a single handle in the center and pockets on the insides. I can’t find a video on this. Can you help me?

    Do you ever pre-wash interfacing? What causes bubbling to happen?

    • @TheCraftyGemini
      @TheCraftyGemini  Рік тому +2

      I don't. The bubbling I've experienced has happened because 1) the product was not properly fused to the fabric or 2) after washing I dried it in the drier at too high of a setting so the adhesive is re-melted and unsticks in some spots. For both scenarios I can usually fix it by misting the fabric with water and then re-pressing it with a hot iron.

    Do you add the stabilizers to the outer or inner fabrics? I always forget this. How about with cork; larger totes or bags? THANK YOU!

    • @TheCraftyGemini
      @TheCraftyGemini  Рік тому

      I usually add it to the exterior panels for a crisper finish on the outside. With cork and larger totes I do the same but it depends on the project as some don't need interfacings/stabilizers if the exterior fabric is stiff enough on its own.
