Great comparison & info Vanessa, thank you!
Thank you, Vanessa. Even though I am an experienced sewer this information was very helpful, especially the idea of making samples to keep for reference.
This video convinced me to subscribe! Your years of experience teaching shows - this was such a useful and clear quick lesson. I love your idea of making samples so we always know how it will hold up. I live in a country where Pellon, decovil etc are not easily available and I’m always confused on what to buy but this really helps. Thank you!
GREAT lesson. Short & sweet, yet filled with info! Thanks!!
Great info! Making the samples would be a great help for reference. Thank you.

Fabulous free advice!!
Thank you! That helped so much!
Would be nice to have a downloadable and/or printable chart to consult when shopping.
You could easily write it down yourself. Its a lot to ask of someone who is already providing this info for free.
Excellently articulated. Many thanks!

Hi, can you speak about decovil and decovil light. When and where to use it? Is it different than foam. Today’s video was very helpful. And your suggestion about making samples is genius. Thank you for sharing your talents.
I believe that would be like the two options that were on our left of the screen. The left one being like the “Deco Heavy” and the right one being like the “Deco light”, I think these are just different brands. I would love to know if my assumptions are way off base though!
I understand what you are saying but I’ve held decovil an it is more structured and rubbery. I use foam and it is nothing like decovil.
What interfacing should i use on fleece. And what interfacing should be used on phone crossbody bags
I wish we have the same materials, hardware and interfacing in south Africa
Great information! I do have a bag I’d like to make. It’s like your little cube basket but I want to put an all around double tabbed zipper to attach the top to the sides. With a single handle in the center and pockets on the insides. I can’t find a video on this. Can you help me?
Can you share which interfacing you used on the last one, the small zippered black bag? Thank you!
It's usefull❤
Glad you think so!
You lyin’. You ain’t that old…!!!
I’m loving your tutorials.
Do you ever pre-wash interfacing? What causes bubbling to happen?
I don't. The bubbling I've experienced has happened because 1) the product was not properly fused to the fabric or 2) after washing I dried it in the drier at too high of a setting so the adhesive is re-melted and unsticks in some spots. For both scenarios I can usually fix it by misting the fabric with water and then re-pressing it with a hot iron.
Do you use a walking foot when you sew with these fusible pieces?
How did you know that yesterday I was trying to figure out what interfacing to buy?
How do you sew 60 degree triangles together without having it puffy and not lay flat in the center?
Denim bag or purse.
Janie arocha always see you on the Internet
like to see a tote bag done in the strongest batting thank you
Do you add the stabilizers to the outer or inner fabrics? I always forget this. How about with cork; larger totes or bags? THANK YOU!
I usually add it to the exterior panels for a crisper finish on the outside. With cork and larger totes I do the same but it depends on the project as some don't need interfacings/stabilizers if the exterior fabric is stiff enough on its own.
$37 to make a fabric basket? No thanks! 🤣
i love this video! EXCELLENT TIPS! I am a creative designer of tote bags and accessories (CHASSIEDOT CREATIONS) and this video helps me to choose the best interfacing for my canvas tote bags. i love it!
Can you share which interfacing you used on the last one, the small zippered black bag? Thank you!
