On the audio commentary for this movie the actor that played. Drill sergeant Harris said that the character didn't have the stick or riding crop in the script. He just seen one extra walking around with it an asked if he could barrow it an he said yea. Then when he went to return it they said no problem you can keep it. So that's how that became part of the movie. Then the actress that played the Female drill sergeant said. That she didn't understand the joke after she tossed the one down an pined him down. With how the other guys where acting the director or some had to explain it to her. The audio commentary also confirmed that every one involved in the movie. Did it for the right reason by that I mean to entertain people. As Michael Winslow said at the end I hope you had a good time an we helped you forget about your rent for awhile. So they just wanted to help people forget about life for awhile an just have a good time. They used a abandoned mental Asylum for the Academy in the movie. So the shooting range was shoot on the grounds of the abandoned mental Asylum. Then during the gun range tested with the shot gun that short police officer was a real police officer. I also got the Shout/Scream Factory shouts select collection of the Police Academy movies. So there is 7 movies in total for this movie franchise.
That's funny how the female Drill Instructor didn't get the joke, but we all got it immediately. I wonder if it was an ad lib thing. Michael Winslow was great though, and the fact that he knows it's all about entertaining people makes him and everyone else true Professionals!
The Blue Oyster theme is iconic, and there’s even a band that named themselves after the bar. I remember renting this movie on vhs for my birthday party when I was a kid.
Ahh, Blue Oyster Cult. That's an iconic joint for sure if a famous band took their name from it. Thanks for sharing, I never knew that, but it makes sense!
I went back and listened to it, you're right. That's so funny, Dan will appreciate that the most, He is a die hard Godzilla fan. thanks for pointing that out!
Wow, That was great of you to say. Thanks for subbing as well. Let us know if you have any recommendations, we tend to fill out our year on what our audience likes. I hope we get to hear from you again!
Michael Winslow had to leave acting sometime after the Police Academy movies due to family issues. He showed up on AGT awhile back as a contestant after quite awhile away from acting.
When it comes to minimizing the harm: I would rather dance in a gay bar than be mowed down and lynxed by an angry mob. At least the gays seemed polite and gentle. They might even buy some drinks. So you know, with an open mind it might not be all that terrible. I reckon the old "not on a first date", would also deter the worst approaches. In old English, "gay" means happy.

The sound effect of ripping the seats out is a snippet of the Godzilla roar.
I went back and listened to it, you're right. That's so funny, Dan will appreciate that the most, He is a die hard Godzilla fan. thanks for pointing that out!

Lazard did meet the women in the podium. You see her again in part 3.
Oh, she comes back huh? Is she still under the podium then as well?
