very nice. Ive got a warco WM180 and its a great little machine. but looking to get a bit bigger. Always need to go bigger! Looks like a good buy.

Thanks! Yea, I looked at the 180 but wanted something slightly bigger and without electronic speed control. I got fed up with my mini lathes electronic speed control breaking. Hopefully the 240B will treat me well.

They are Great lathes with a bit of improvement . There are loads of sites to lead you on this . The geared wheel in the tool tin is the alternative gear for the thread dial indicator used for screw cutting . Speed changes look a bit tedious on this model that does not have variable rpm like the WM18 but this may well have a better motor and better torque at low speeds . Enjoy it and thanks for Sharing . Cheers Ade.

Hi Ade, thanks for this comment. I have watched many of your videos and have found them very helpful and informative. Thank you for making the effort to film and edit them! I quite like the old school belt drive speed change because it's simple and there isn't much to go wrong. Speed changes may become a little tedious though you're right. All the best.

What gear set up do you use for auto feeding?
I’ve just picked one up that the previous owner had set up for thread cutting so unsure what gears to change.

Hey, the gear set up for auto feeding is shown on the table on the belt cover. The table gives you the gear set up for feed rates of 0.1 and 0.2mm per spindle revolution. Have a look at the photo at 18:05. in the video.

Sorry for my ignorance, but i presume this machine can be used to manufacture bolts?

Yes you could manufacture bolts with this machine. If you were using round stock you'd need a filing rest and a way of indexing the chuck to form the hex. Of course this wouldn't be needed if you used the correct size hex stock.
