Not a bad machine. I have the same one for about 6 years, no drama. I just need to maintain it like a normal tool. I'm very happy with mine and hope you will be the same Cheers
Congrats on what looks to be a nice little centre lathe. I've had a hare and forbes machine (CL-38A) for a decade now and have no regrets at all. Upspec to the digital readout bro, you won't regret it.
My plan was to order the DRO system from Ali express as its quite a bit cheaper but I wanted to get the lathe in hand to measure it for the pickup. Cheers for the comment.
nice little maCHINE....but believe me,it's not silly the fact that there's a spring shroud on the chuck key......cause I've seen too many times a key flying off or a jig ruined because of a key forgotten on the chuck at the start!!!!
I hope so. Slowly doing odd jobs as needed and getting a feel for it. I found it does like to back out with the tool so I have to hold the wheel when sweeping across a piece otherwise I get a conical finish.
Thanks for the vid. I just fire ed up my TU-2506V lathe / BF-20AV mill combo. I'm VERY new to this and I'm learning on the fly . What did you do to reduce the slop/lash in the hand wheels?
I have looked into reducing the last but it's been on the backburner for a while. I always back the handles off and move towards the numbers I want so there's no slack in measurements.
It's still going really well, I've changed the gearing on it to suit more of what I'm working with. The jaws slip a fair but, it seems hard to get a lot of torque for them to hold on to parts if I'm trying to manual tap using the jaws so I've been thinking of upgrading those. Otherwise it's pretty decent.
Looked at all the lathes H&F sell. Decided I needed the 38mm spindle bore so got myself the TU3008 bigger brother to yours.

Been thinking about one of these for myself, Thanks for the review

It's a good lathe, I have a clone of this that's sold by Paramount Browns. Well worth the money.
Nice, but damn that bakground music
Do yourself a favor and don’t throw machined parts on your welding table
I just had the Optimum TU-3008G version delivered today from Hare Forbes.
I’m looking forward to giving it a burl.
Adam is the Bomb👍💪
le has cambiado alguna vez los engranajes para hacer roscas ?
brother-yo,best job!
Thanks!

I mean, I get the purpose of it fully, it's just that I (mostly) use my brain and man it is damn annoying to use!
@@garageadz oooohhh yesss!I fully agree with you that it's damn f*":;':g.........
9:50 Seriously, that pulley with that belt transfers 1200W of power, more than 1.5hp of power?
Very good. 👍🏾
Did you fix the sloppy knob? I saw the other model of the same brand and I also noticed the sliding handle was wiggling. Not sure if that's fixable.
You’ll get the hang of it

@@garageadz use the carriage lock for that. It's a nice lathe, I have a Paramount Browns version of the same lathe.
New toy 🙂👍🏻🙂
New toy 👍🏻🙂👍🏻
Hooray for tax return!
Does that have a pass through fees through head? I'm new to International Asian model lathes .. thanks
Yes it does
Thanks for the vid.

Wat you say today to the Optimum Maschine? Its a good or Bad Maschine?
It does about as good of a job as you'd expect. It's definitely not a terrible machine but at this price point it delivers
How's it holding up after 1 yr
