- Thanks for growing with us!
If you are a gardener, then you already know and love Gardener's Supply Company. So many of us have looked forward to the catalog coming in the mail to see all the new plant supports, raised beds, and gadgets.
We are fortunate enough to live about two and a half hours away from the headquarters and two main stores and love to make overnight trips once or twice a season. For this visit, we met up with Shawn Christianson, the Director of Digital Marketing...who took us on a tour behind the scenes and taught us about the history of this amazing company.
In this video we take you along on a tour of the two garden centers in Burlington and Williston Vermont, and do some shopping. From Gardener's Supply's own brand, Proven Winners, David Austin Roses, Dramm wands, Espoma, and even Botanical Interests...we try to cover as much of the stores as we can! Hopefully our visit gives you a better sense of what this company offers even if you aren't close enough to come yourself.

This video is not sponsored, however some plants and equipment that I use in my garden have been provided to me to try out!
Love a garden centre tour...thanks so much! 🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh I need that hand tool that’s shaped like a heart. I think Erin in the “The impatient Gardner has something similar to that. I can’t find that anywhere in Canada! I also need the chicken wire cloches, pots and of course so much more! It’s too bad they don’t ship to Canada! Thanks for such a great tour! I think you two are the only ones that have done so! ❤️🇨🇦👏
That tool is called a raised bed hand plow... I believe they source the Gardener's Lifetime tool from Dewitt. If you can find a garden center that carries Dewitt you should be able to find it!
This is a gardener’s dream place. I love their products and ordered a few. Thanks for giving us a tour. Awesome Place!!!!
Our pleasure! It is so much fun!
It’s probably a good thing i don’t have a Gardner’s Supply in my country ! I want everything !
It’s good to have limited room in the car
Same for me!!
I was just thinking the same!!! Mn doesn’t have anything like this…that I know of!
I have a horse truck so nothing would be impossible 😂
Me too. There is a difference in seeing things in person.
I could really live in there! Thank you so much for the tour!
Glad you enjoyed it!
So much fun to go garden shopping with you guys.
Thanks so much
I loved the tour and, oh guys, just gotta say - your "hydrangea math" 😁
So what if you just dug shrubs out of that bed and replaced them with new hydrangeas. It's like re-arranging furniture.😁
Basically. At this point we do kinda move things this furniture!!
Love this!! Your raised beds are my inspo for whenever I replace my current beds.
They have self watering inserts too! And different sizes.
I wish there would a gardener's supply store here in Canada. I have learned another plant from you guys. Midnight sun weigela. I need to get some of those. Thanks for sharing.
It’s sooooo good!!!
This was an amazing tour, so many beautiful things; did not want it to end. Thank you for taking us along.😊
You are so welcome!
"You'd think we favor hydrangea and roses in our garden" and I'm over here like "nothing wrong with that!".
It has worked out well for us so far!
I gave up on roses. The newer self clean roses are too much ground work for the older me. Hydrangea and supporting garden plants are fine for me.
You guys make a great couple and I love watching every video. You are awesome and I enjoy everything about gardening.
Thanks so much!!!
Love this.
Thank you!
Yayyyy a long video!!! Endulging while eating 😊
I hope you enjoy!
Oh my gosh, I am soooo jealous !!! I wish I lived closed to one of their stores !!! Thank you for the tour !
Thanks for watching! We love going there
Loved this video! Great tour guys!! We’re heading to Maine in October, now I need to stop in Vermont so beautiful. ❤️❤️😊
It’s way up north and such a beautiful area!
I just love watching you both. What a fun shopping experience!
We love gardeners!!!!!
Very enjoyable tour. The two of you are adorable!
Thank you so much!
What a great video. I think one of you need to invest in a truck so you can fill it up and we can see things displayed in your garden. You always display so uniquely. Great to see you discuss your needs together. And for you both to have the same garden passion. Love it!
Honestly if we had any bigger of a vehicle we would have come home with that temple of bloom tree. It’s probably economical safer to stick with an SUV!!!
You guys are SO much fun!! That was a great tour! Made me feel like I was there walking along side w/ you. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the shopping trip alot of fun Loved this, 2 amazing garden centers i enjoyed the info. you know that caster bean shrub is PRETTY ! 😊👍
It’s going to be a lot of fun!
Loved this tour. Thank you so much. Your channel is fabulous.
Thank you so much!
'Invincibelle Spirit II' is soooo GOOD, for me it hardly fades or greens out right through to frost!
We have 9 now. I can’t wait to see how they develop
I love their sign! That is gorgeous.
I know! The look of the stone arch is so cool.
Why didn't I look at this sooner! I have to say, though, now that it's fall, it's fun to see you both shopping at the end of summer and dream about spring! Love this vid, guys!
It is definitely the coolest garden center we've ever been to...plus they have just about every PW plant imaginable! We try to get up there twice a year.
Thank you for taking us viewers along on this “ virtual field trip “! Started my list for Gardners Supply! I just love your channel!
Honestly they carry sooooo much.
It looks like you had the store to yourself basically. Nirvana! I didn't even know Gardener's Supply had retail stores. I could spend all day there! I fell in love with the Burlington, VT area when taking my daughter on college tours and plan to go back next year for a few days. Now I'm adding even more days😅
It is totally worth it!!!
Omgosh boys!!!!! That was an amazing tour!!!! I had no idea that gardeners supply was in our backyard!!!! I’m super excited to get up to Vermont. You two are so sweet ❤❤ please keep the videos coming!!! I wake up every morning and look for something new on UA-cam ❤❤❤ love you guys Sandy
haha thanks!!!!
I’ve been hanging on to there catalog that came in the mail.
Thanks for the tour 😊
Hope you like it! We have a video touring another new location that was posted just recently
OH MY GOSH! I had no idea this existed. I would drive on vacation to see this site. Six minutes in and you are walking too fast! I would not get to go thru the whole thing on one day!
Haha we go often I probably was going a bit too quick. It’s just so much fun!!
How did I never realize that they have brick & mortar stores?! So much fun seeing what they have - and love that they have a specific section for Pet Friendly plants! I could spend hours in there.
Every time we make our little pilgrimage we find something new. The staff is so friendly too
@@growformegardening I'm sure there are so many fantastic treasures!
absolutely!!!
I visited Gardener's Supply Company last year and got a bunch of the Birdie's raised beds at a great discounted price. I really need to go back there. Thank you for this wonderful tour!
Thanks for watching!
What a fun video. I wasn't aware Gardener's Supply had a "sale" tent-- I love me a sale. I live in southern California and have tried to grow hydrangeas with no success, but I'll keep trying. It will be nice to see how your new hydrangeas like their new home. I enjoy your channel-thank you for sharing.
Oh gosh that’s no fun. You get to grow lots of other fun things that we can’t.
Thank you ❤❤❤
Thank you!
Brilliant!! I wish they had one here in SE Pa 😪 😊!!!
Yeah that’s a bit of a drive
I love the selection in your zone. All the coníferas and evergreens! Some people may find it hard to believe, but sometimes you get tired of palms, yuccas , agaves and cactus, here in South texas. The plant you were wondering about with the purple spoke is a bromeliad.❤❤❤😊😊😊
Oh!! That flower was so pretty...definitely not a plant we would ever see outdoors here.
love the contents so fun and informative ❤❤❤😊
Glad you like them!
Hi my dear friends, we really enjoyed watching your video today visiting this beautiful garden center and they had so many beautiful plants to choose from. It was probably hard to get in and out of there without spending a couple of thousand dollars. Great variety of color and plants. Thanks so much for sharing. I couldn’t believe how big and beautiful this nursery was. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. Hugs and kisses from grandma, Sandy and Debbie. And so many unusual plans I have never seen before. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much! It is definitely hard not to leave with lots of stuff...this is why we can't ever get a bigger car!
Great tour! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Baby sickle knife can be used to cut off your harvest. I follow someone on You Tube in the Cotswolds who uses it for her home garden. 🌸❤️🇨🇦
That’s a great idea!!
I went to a lavender farm that used a sickle to harvest.
I have one really sad lavender... I will go sickle it!
“This looks medieval” 😂😂😂
🤪🤪🤪
Enjoyed the tour guys! Do you have any future plans for a pond or water feature? The Poet's Wife is a very good rose. It is hardy, disease resistant and has bloomed non-stop for me in my zone 5b garden. I have a Pinky Winky standard and love it. Bonny
No pond for us right now. It’s one more piece of maintenance we don’t need to add!! I think Poets wife is on my list now!
This was so fun! I live in Maine so not far, there will be a trip soon! Is the sale tent always there? We just moved so I'm starting a new garden, all sales welcome! Thank you so much for this, I never thought or knew to visit here. Have a great day.❤
It is always there! We go up for Memorial Day weekend a lot...this trip was just a bonus. One time we went up and there was an additional 40% off the sale tent and I couldn't see out the back window of the SUV driving home.
@@growformegardening Thank you! Our Anniversary is coming up the end of September and this might be the trip we take! I love your channel as I am zone 5a so I can use a lot of the same plants you do. Thank you again!
That would be lovely. Burlington is such a nice city too.
❤@@growformegardening
Love that place! We have the original in Hadley Massachusetts
We visited that location this summer. We ended up discovering that other nursery near it with the name I can’t ever remember
@@growformegardening haha yes wanczyk evergreen nursery
Yes!! We found our Tottering-by-Gently there. It was such a surprise when we pulled in and the place kept going!
@@growformegardening I got my koto no ito Japanese maple and miss Grace weeping Dawn redwood there.
Thank you for letting me know about that David Austin rose. It is a beauty!
Nice tours! The pet friendly section in houseplants section is a good idea. Loved the stacked stone arch. Have you guys ever been to NY Botanical Gardens in the Bronx or Longwood Gardens in PA? Both are nice! Longwood, local to me, has been closed a few days since an inmate escaped and was actually captured on their video last night. 😮
Wow!!! We have been to Longwood, what an incredible place. I really want to go down to the Bronx, it’s about two and a half hours and we would make a little trip of it.
Guys , you need a pickup truck 😂😂😂
It’s too dangerous.
How have your Essex towers held up? I have 2 on the way so hopefully well 😊
They are holding really well. The oldest ones have are still going strong
💙👍🏻💙
🌷🌷🌷🌷
The trees there are a lot cheaper than the one in Hadley for some reason
Interesting. The trees were right about where prices are near us, but shrubs were less expensive in VT.
@@growformegardening they have some giant ones too
Have you guys bought any of the hoses? Need new ones and can’t find good quality ones
We haven’t bought any there. We have hose reels from Costco
EWWW! White Spruce! Smells like cat pee! Cut that down for a Christmas Tree once because I thought it was the best tree in the lot. Noticed a smell when we cut it down, but thought it was maybe a dog near by. Noticed the smell when we decorated it, but thought it would go away. NO! It progressively got worse! It got so bad, that one day I came in from work and the kids said they tree had to go. So, yes, we took it all down (a 12 foot tree, of course, fully decorated) and replaced it with a small (because that is all we could find that late) Frasier fir tree - which is our favorite, anyway. UGH!
Well this is good to know. We go for an artificial tree inside the house but if we ever make the switch we won't go for the pee tree!
Castor oil plants are a weed in my country of New Zealand.
They grow huge and smell awful and spread like wildfire.
Everytime i see one I feel ill.
Please dont waste your money.
Jo.😊
Honestly, if you want some bright colour, stick with something that has autumnal colour and will stick around for a while.
Haha I think the same thing when I see Sumac trees! They grow like crazy on our highway medians. Every time I see someone plant one I think “nooooooooo”
I sometimes grow the castor in Illinois. They are easily weeded out if you decide not to use them in future. Just know that this annual can and does get so large that you will need a chain saw to cut that huge trunk down at the end of the year. Grew them this year after a hiatus and for some reason they are not as large. Possibly the drought and heat.
I'm into a challenge!!!!!
