I am addicted to your channel. I'm the wife of this you tuber. After watching the 1st 5 min of this show, I went to Great Garden Plants site and bought some shrubs to fill some empty areas in my border. I told myself I was done planting this year, except for bulbs, but darn it, the dirt is still soft. I appreciate your one liners. I crack up listening to you both. You will need to take some garden trips and take us along. Maybe have us plant seeds with you this winter. I am obsessed with Hydrangeas now because of you Both! Keep doing what you are doing, a Plant addict from Ohio, Lynn

I love learning from you both, at 63 I need all the help I can get! We bought a home in August and both the house and yard needs to be done. I feel guilty when I work outside because there's so much inside but winter is coming here in Maine. I am clearing and cutting away to plant as much as I can in the fall, is there a time to stop planting. I want to go to Home Depot, half off, and grab a couple more hydrangeas and maybe more cypress. Thank you both, have a wonderful day.

I place my hose to visualize the expanded bed before cutting in the edge. I don't think of myself as a visual person necessarily as many other gardeners say they are. But for that I am.
Ah, yes. The dreaded sandy soil. Yours appears even more sandy than mine. In rejuvenating a garden bed this year, I added lots of Land & Sea compost. I never saw any worms. Fast forward a couple months later and heavy rains for the first time all season, I now have lots of worms.
TY for answering my question about using Bio-tone this late in the season. (I know you can't read my mind, but I was curious about that.)

Beautiful work again, gentlemen. Because of you, I just purchased this week three gorgeous Little Quick Fires and have ordered a Let’s Dance Can Do and two Bobo Hydrangeas. I have definitely caught the bug. Thank you! And you’re area has such beautiful fall color. Cherish that. Here in my area of Kentucky, we don’t usually get a lot of tree color. Our usually very dry August and Septembers cause the leaves to just drop in October without any color show.

I knew you couldn’t leave us hanging without a (final?) tally of hydrangeas! Of all the garden tools in my collection, I don’t have a manual edger. I make do, carefully trying to use a shovel but it’s not great of course- lol! I’ll be purchasing one now! It is interesting how different your soil is from my 5b here in the Chicago suburbs. I mean, I knew it was different, but to see you just be able to pull up the sod like that… Our soil is more clay-based and it definitely requires a flat shovel imo to help lift up the heavy pieces. Enjoyed the episode! 😊

You guys are really inspiring. Thank you also for the great explanations on how to do the garden tasks and use the garden tools safely and effectively!!
I have a vacation home in zone 5a in il. I have used mostly floriferous shrubs and a few hardy perennials as the back bone of the garden. This is my first winter with the garden. So will see what comes back. I Have been hesitant to try the new hybrid macrophylla hydrangea because of concerns for cold hardiness. My main residence is zone 7a and I continue to lose blooms always during the recurring tradition of the spring freeze. So, I will be seeing what your experience reveals.
What is the realistic mature height/width that you have attained with incrediball, little quickfire, arborescens sublime/lace, Bobo, firelight tidbit and little lime punch. I have seen the proven winners hervela videos but the plants are planted in big sky locations. In a home garden, we have less hours of light. So I wondered what realistically you have experienced. Thanks

Someone likes you to send all those plants? How does that work? Thanks. Love watching. Love me some hydrangeas. But, they are so expensive in numbers. Any suggestions on how to get the best plants for our money? Bargains in other words, perhaps? We want a garden like yours. All advice is appreciated.

Good morning. Do you remove the flower heads of your Strawberry Vanilla before the snow hits? I have a new SV standard. It’s big. Not a wimpy young version. However, I’m worried that the weight of the snow on the heads could cause damage. Zone 6b CT.

I live in zone 7 and I tried to grow hydrangea. The area gets morning thru 3 sun. I have had no luck. My neighbor put one out in full hot afternoon sun and her hydrangea is doing great?? I don't understand, I thought these plants were part sun/shade

Some hydrangeas are just better suited to sun than others. Try panicle hydrangeas, they can handle the most sun.

Fairy Tale Bride for one, Just bought it by the picture and planted, and doing well. Twist and Shout (bought 3 of these) or Fire and Ice I've been taking notes on your plantings. I usually buy one of everything. Now I am buying sometimes 3. Like you say "to repeat for the wow factor and it draws the eye."
