The new one looks like an AI generated car. It brings me no emotion either good or terrible. It's just so meh. The front looks like a Chinese fish. Nothing interesting at all still looks like an Egg. Still no HUD or gauge clusters or stalks. Car just screams plain jane.
Owningboth, the rear is much better looking in my eyes. And I prefer the front also. The old one is still a good looking car considering to design was launched in 2017 !
Heated-Ventilated seats and the ambient lighting definitely make the 2024 model worth it. The rear HVAC display is ok - but I'm not fully satisfied with having to use the touchscreen for shifting.

absolutely worth the upgrade. the new one just feels more like an entry level luxury sedan. interior is soft touch, no visibly exposed hard plastics, and it has cooled seats which is a MUST!
I've had the new one for week now and I'm not missing the stalks at all. I like the clean design and did not have problems to get used to the buttons. Only thing I find annoying when driving is the lack of driver's dislay / HUD for speed. Also bit dissapointed for real world range in cold Finnish winter (250-300km). Overall very nice car to drive.
Sorry, but that latch thing at 17:19 has nothing to do with door sealing. It’s designed for increased occupant protection in a collision. The door and door sill will latch together forming a stronger structure in a T-bone crash scenario. Virtually all YT reviewers get this wrong.
My wife has a 2023 Model Y Performance and it is quieter than my Model 3 Performance. The larger wheels also produce more road noise. The Highland is quieter than the new Y by about 20%.
In Europe, not having easily accessible turn signals is really tough on a daily basis. I have a Model 3 for my work, and I struggle to get used to it in roundabouts.
When steeringwheel is upside down and you must turn right, then that turn signal indicator button will be under, as if you turn left, it is under...easy for me.
Yeah I can understand that. Luckily in America it’s normal not to use turn signals on roundabouts. But we rarely have roundabouts larger than 2 lanes and you aren’t supposed to change lanes in the middle of the roundabouts.
I have a 2022 model 3 and my girlfriend got her new model 3 a few weeks ago. In general it's an upgrade, but there are a few things I truly don't understand: 1) The wood trim in the old model 3 just looks way nicer than the new interior. I have lived in China for a while and that's the vibe I get: lots of leds and plastic. It feels like it's overdone. I'm also afraid the new velt-like stuff on the dash is going to be a nightmare to clean. 2) No foglights. Where we live we have thick fog about 25% of the mornings. The visibility difference between the old and the new is way bigger than I anticipated. The new one is significantly worse. 3) Buttons for the indicators is just stupid. I'm ok with selecting gears on the screen (no one is going to use the ones in top), but especially on roundabouts the steeringwheelbutton indicators are absolutely useless. 4) This is more of a disclaimer than a complaint: the new model 3 comes with different tires than the old one. Last summer I had my tires replaced for the non-Tesla version of the Hankook iON tires and they improved comfort and noise significantly. I don't know if the Tesla version of the iON tire on the new 3 is very different from the original one, but I feel like a large portion of the noise and comfort improvements comes from those new tires. I have to say I haven't tried the new 3 on rough roads yet, but on smooth-ish roads the noise and comfort differences are quite small between my 2022 model 3 and the brand new one.
I agree with you 100%. I own 2023 M3 - I love that car. It seems like Elon went even further into trimming down the costs with this one. Skipping all the cheap stuff like the screen in the back and flashy LEDs only improvements I would see as an owner of an M3 are double-wall back windows and the design of the rear of the car + bringing back the sensors and that would be the perfect car for ME!
@@benjaminbenson8914 I don't notice a significant difference in performance, but I have to admit I rarely push the car to its limits. The efficiency of the car didn't change, or at least not to a point where it stands out from different weather conditions.

It is so small that every review has missed it. But, is makes for a better line and is a great designers touch.

Bought a 2023 Model 3 last year. Put about 14k miles on it - love it. No issues. Drives great. And love the low maintenance and no gas. Definitely recommend it. It is affordable and worth every penny. EDIT - I am sure the gear stalk thing is not a big deal. Yeah, we are all used to it. But, oh well.
The deal breaker for me is not having stalks. Stalks and the classic horn (in the center of the wheel) are absolute necessities to me. For two reasons a) in case I need to quickly take evasive action. I do not want to look around or swipe swipe looking for the gear shifter. b) at least two me, they are traditional parts that make you feel in control of the car. The feel of them has always been there. I think I would be able to get used to the blinkers buttons, haptic feedback buttons are always better too. Great review!

I had a very scary experience with the new model 3 last weekend. I got an extended test drive during the whole weekend, so I tested it vigorously. I found myself constantly looking down before pressing the turn signal buttons before exiting roundabouts, particularly the smaller ones. Otherwise, it's impossible to hit the correct button, and even then it's too easy to hit the wrong one. I found that I lost track of my surroundings and became way too distracted at times because of this. One time I almost hit a pedestrian when exiting a roundabout. I loved so many of the upgrades, so this was a real shame. I really liked the car, but I'm not sure I would ever be comfortable using this. I live in the EU by the way, and we have roundabouts everywhere. It's probably not much of an issue in the US though.
I'm sorry for your frightening experience. There is a reason why buttons and switches have been located where they are for decades. It's not because there wasn't anywhere else to put them, it's about driver attention, neutral driving position, and driver/pedestrian safety.
Thanks for this comment. I'm in the market for a new EV sedan, and have been on the fence for a Tesla model 3 2024 version because of the lack of indicator stalks. While I live in the US and don't have much roundabouts here, I feel like it can still be a safety issue.
Lmao what do you mean. What is the difference between a 2021 Golf R and a 2023 Golf R ? It's a newer model right ? it's always been like this for any OEM.
NOW like phones? Nah, there's always been negligible differences between car models up to about 6-8 years apart That said, the new Prius is actually really cool looking
@@linusmlgtips2123 The Model 3 came out in 2017. That's seven years. This car looks identical to the 2017 model. I know there are slight differences, but when you're looking at them casually you can't see those differences. Most car OEMs will make something distinctive with the new model to distinguish one model from the other. The Golf, as the above poster joked about, is a prime example. But so is the Jetta. Yes, there's the same relative shape, but it will have distinctive lines that make it clear it's the newer model. If this was just comparing the 2022 or 2023 model to the 2024 model there wouldn't be much of an issue; but this has been seven years. Usually by this time there is a major design overhaul.
This is what I would tell people about the model Y also. Maybe not the coolest model, but the best put together feeling. Now I think that's the new model 3
Something about the front of the Mk1 that I like more than the new model, kinda Porsche like proportions and more interesting shapes. I hear the plaid M3 will have more aggressive bumpers, that’s what I’ll go for

The way Tesla's paint price works is based on cars needing to be painted that month. So the majority is the default. If you check back on another month it might be white or black. I believe it is never the special red.

I have been considering when my Lease is up in Aug. for my 2021 MS about switching to a M3 and I think from this video that is what I am going to do. VERY VERY helpful video
Why do people always refer to the Model 3 as M3? I own a Model 3 Performance and a BMW M3. The two vehicles could not be any more different from one another. My wife just picked up a Model Y Performance two months ago. I drove the new Highland and it is quieter and smoother. It took a while to get used to no5 having the stalks. I do not feel that it would be worth the upgrade, but if you are going to purchase a new Tesla get the updated version.
Well I’m happy people just love to spend on nonsense. I just got my model 3 for $25k. And could not be happier. 2021 with 23k miles. I can’t wait 6/7 years to change again.

One downside for all EVs is the limited range in cold weather. I have a friend with a Model 3 long-range, and he gets closer to 200 miles on a charge in winter. It is a limited technology that is not practical.
One of the trims comes with new chemistry, but it's optimised for overall longevity of the battery pack instead of better range. Lol, fact checked myself! I was thinking of another car. Model 3 shouldn't have anything new in the battery except possibly a better BMS
@@jlmaster1 I thought the Model 3 was the lithium iron version which meant it wasn't able to dump current as hard as the lithium ion, but held up better long term. Just drove the new one today. Ride is a lot better, less noise makes it into the cabin, felt the throttle pedal was better tuned (smoother). Just more isolated altogether, made it feel a lot less like a cheap economy car and closer to the luxury cars. Drive selector on the screen was fine but the turn signals on the wheel is definitely annoying. Something you can get used to maybe, hope this doesn’t become a trend in the industry.

Thanks for this comment. I'm in the market for a new EV sedan, and have been on the fence for a Tesla model 3 2024 version because of the lack of indicator stalks. While I live in the US and don't have much roundabouts here, I feel like it can still be a safety issue.
I agree with u, finding a button for 1 or 2 seconds will take the eyes away from the road, its dangerous.
No creep mode , deal breaker for us
Cars are now like phones you don’t find major differences with the “newer” models
Lmao what do you mean.
What is the difference between a 2021 Golf R and a 2023 Golf R ? It's a newer model right ?
it's always been like this for any OEM.
NOW like phones?
Nah, there's always been negligible differences between car models up to about 6-8 years apart
That said, the new Prius is actually really cool looking
Facelifts have been a thing for years.
what are you talking about? the new is actually a HUGE improvement. also its only a facelift, and one of the bigger ones out there
@@linusmlgtips2123 The Model 3 came out in 2017.
“You got space back there?” “Tons man.” As he sits with his leg legs bent to a 135 angle and his head bent down to avoid hitting the roof.
I guess nobody is gonna talk about the r32 gtr in the background
In that classic blue color also
as soon as the r32 comes into view, focus is immediately shifted 😂
This is what I would tell people about the model Y also. Maybe not the coolest model, but the best put together feeling. Now I think that's the new model 3
Something about the front of the Mk1 that I like more than the new model, kinda Porsche like proportions and more interesting shapes. I hear the plaid M3 will have more aggressive bumpers, that’s what I’ll go for
This is based on several components, yes, the old car was already good, let alone the new car, it should be even better
22:46 "your're a stalk guy' hahahah 'Willy doo look at you' 🤣🤣
25k over a year is not a lot at all lol thats not even a full tank a week. having said that, i put 100k on my m3LR over 2 years and just checked out the new one. the difference in quality is night and day. amazing upgrade!
Remember to apply Tesla code to get 3 months of Full Self-Driving Capability
What is the code please?
The arm rest magnet is such a nice touch to the new model 3!
Completely agree on the tailgate. It could have - and should have! - been a hatchback. Your point about cannibalizing sales is a good one though.
This is one of the best comparison videos on this topic. Kudos gentleman.
Lou getting excited with the word gaping says a lot 😂😂
Every little change, no matter how innocuous, is intentional to simplify the build process and cut complexity.
Finally a good video bring Lew later back please I will donate 500 every show severe to god
I like the old headlights and frunk, has a more of a sporty Porsche feeling
The new one is giving Lightning McQueen ⚡
The way Tesla's paint price works is based on cars needing to be painted that month. So the majority is the default. If you check back on another month it might be white or black. I believe it is never the special red.
Basically you f*cked up when you got the 2023 model (should’ve been watching Tailosive EV) but in order to redeem yourself-get the 2024 model
MAN! This model 3 2023 vs 2024 comparison video could had been the BEEEESTT! in UA-cam if the 2024 instead of red was the new stealth grey vs the 2023 midnight silver metallic !!!
I have been considering when my Lease is up in Aug. for my 2021 MS about switching to a M3 and I think from this video that is what I am going to do. VERY VERY helpful video
How was your lease process?
Why do people always refer to the Model 3 as M3? I own a Model 3 Performance and a BMW M3. The two vehicles could not be any more different from one another. My wife just picked up a Model Y Performance two months ago. I drove the new Highland and it is quieter and smoother. It took a while to get used to no5 having the stalks. I do not feel that it would be worth the upgrade, but if you are going to purchase a new Tesla get the updated version.
Don’t! Rent one for a week, first.
Will is so cool, I love watching him in videos.
Well I’m happy people just love to spend on nonsense. I just got my model 3 for $25k. And could not be happier. 2021 with 23k miles. I can’t wait 6/7 years to change again.
god that dog is the freakin cutest
Treating a whole car like a cellphone
“Worth the upgrade?” Lmao
they also changed inside cabin buttons on new model 3! Very good feature
BRING BACK LEW LATER… come on! GO AHEAD, WILL
Can we bring back Lew Later ! We miss you guys!!!!! And Moe!
Looking for a tesla referral? You can get 3 months of get 3 months of Full Self-Driving Capability.
ah yeah, thank you!
If driving a car for a year makes you "an expert" then with 24 years of ownership that makes me an E36 BMW Professor.
Let the AMA begin!
@LordOfJazz- Move over darlin' cause I've been driving 60 years ! That MUST mean I might know something about what makes a car good and this Tesla is an overpriced piece of crap.
@@S.L.S-407 XD
@@LordOfJazz- XD ?
Turn signals are more similar to how fhey operate on a motorcycle
Exact same. You even get to know what it will be worth in 5 years. People that bought 2019s never knew what a bad investment they would be.
13:40 Washer fluid reservoir will be first thing that'll break in a front end collision on new models. On older ones it was very well protected at back.
One downside for all EVs is the limited range in cold weather. I have a friend with a Model 3 long-range, and he gets closer to 200 miles on a charge in winter. It is a limited technology that is not practical.
Did they upgrade the battery chemistry or range?
One of the trims comes with new chemistry, but it's optimised for overall longevity of the battery pack instead of better range.
Lol, fact checked myself! I was thinking of another car. Model 3 shouldn't have anything new in the battery except possibly a better BMS
No updated chemistry but it is more aerodynamic. This makes it about 8% more efficient which means 8% more range, 8% faster charging.
@@wemakecookie it's the cycles that worry me. I'd rather have a battery last 10-12 years to 80% than 3-6 at 50%
@@jlmaster1 I thought the Model 3 was the lithium iron version which meant it wasn't able to dump current as hard as the lithium ion, but held up better long term. Wasn't that what Musk said was going in the slower vehicles? (3, Y, and Cybertruk) S and X were getting the lithium ion for the massive current dumps of the sub 3 sec 0-60 until they figure out a better chemistry I thought.
@davidburton3447 yes I believe you are correct but only on standard range models not extended range.
I got model 3 2024 performed and i love it❤
r32 stole the show
Just drove the new one today.
Something you can get used to maybe, hope this doesn’t become a trend in the industry.
the new tesla just has better headlights honestly speaking
Better headlights, better efficiency, better driving dynamics, better suspension, better seats, better materials, better panel gaps, additional display, better cameras, better sound system, quieter cabin, etc etc.
Nope
its better in every way except for the stalks
Nice to see the headlights are brighter on the new car. The old look like they might not very bright since they’re black. And it looks like you also will be able to see out of the front window better at night.
Please review the blue R32 hiding in the corner. 😊
Cool & informative review. Really nice having both models side by side. 👍🏻
The new one definitely looks much better in my opinion.
i find the previous more esthetically attractive
Dont forget you can set your side mirrors to fold based on GPS. When willy drives into his garage he can suto fold his mirrors upon arrival
Best line “your yelling right now” 😂
door closing sound - the 2024 had the front door open - no back pressure.... Thanks for the walk through good points. Looking good. I wish they had a hatch back... Waiting for an electric e300 lexus type car.
looks lit 🤤
The only thing Colombian about that place was the music and maybe the coffee 😂 the empanada de pabellón is 100% Venezuelan and the arepa too, I'm glad you try our food hope you like it
Bring back LEW LATER please
No
No 😂
This really makes me miss my daily Lew Later. I love these two together just riffing
I'd sooner have the Nissan skyline in the background. 😊
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!! 👑🇯🇲🔥💥🌟⭐💯💎
Is that an R32 GTR in the background 👀
