Underrated catch!! Came back to rewatch to see if I missed something and had this exact thought when it happened. It might have been done to signify the entity manifesting/getting closer/more powerful or just the tone shift, but if fear is tied to the entities’ powers (which is heavily implied to be the case in the other videos) then it makes sense that Collin’s heart might have jumped a little seeing that, hence the entity-suppressing rain stuttering a little.

Unironically more scary than most Minecraft horror content because the video maker understands tension. The main character has a motivation not to just close the game, but still gets a little shook. He's prideful, but aware of his limits, and when a threat doesn't finish him off he's just pissed at being put through the stress. Very relatable tbh.

and to top it off, he has it covered, so like after seeing something paranormal *once* he copies the entire world folder on a google disc, usb flash and simply an archive, just to fuck with entities if they try to lock him out of it and same with recordings - always have obs, some other programm and deadass a phone camera recording the screen 24/7. try to fight that. not to mention going full-throttle with opening the world to public via VPN and inviting your friends for some cheating shenanigans. entities vs the power of command block.
also if i were collin in the dialogue with red square guy i'd probably ask him if they need the original version of this world or not. cause if not i'll just copy it and fuck off. they have their fun, i have mine.
This honestly feels like a proof of concept that Minecraft ARGs aren't reliant on noisy protagonists or having the main character be not adapt at the game.
This is why I make my bases either underground, or under a massive lava cast of solid cobblestone. I wield power over the very elements of nature, what is a spooky glitch gonna do to me? Give me lag? Crash my game? Explode my PC? Real spooky huh

why is this so well acted. like he's so clearly so done with this shit, but it's because it DOES scare him. We see that in all the behaviors he develops. He has stone in his hotbar near the end, something he prioritized over food. He has it there so he can hide in his basement from the monsters after him.

Okay, genuinely, as funny as it is, the fucking censor bar getting bigger, meaning that SOMETHING was getting closer actually kinda sent a shiver through me. That’s a cool concept.
This actually can be said for the entire video, another example is when Collin is talking to “Colin” and Collin opens the chat showing the messages. The further Collin talked to the faker, the more accurate his name tag got. Up until he was a fully accurate clone, which then he attacked.
15:11 something i noticed is that this guy, while looking like hungry, hasn't got a nametag. In the kevin video, he encountered souler, who shares the appearance and lack of nametag with this guy. This means collin had both souler and hungry in his world.

Unironically more scary than most Minecraft horror content because the video maker understands tension. The main character has a motivation not to just close the game, but still gets a little shook. He's prideful, but aware of his limits, and when a threat doesn't finish him off he's just pissed at being put through the stress. Very relatable tbh.

the fact this guy only has leather armor and iron tools reminds me so much of the way i used to play minecraft a few years ago, even when i got diamonds i would never use them, because i was scared of losing them eventually

honestly i'd watch an arg-esque series where the whole point is that the protagonist is so tired of his normal life bullshit he just doesn't care about the in-game horrors. and in-game horrors are tired of him too, because he is quick on the uptake, and before they ever manage to get to him he just alt+f4s out of there. until one day, when he mods the cursed world to oblivion, just to see if mysterious entities can fight against thaumcraft or something.
however out of all entities he tolerates the shapeshifter because he's basically him. wanna use my face? better mine and craft like me buddy
and to top it off, he has it covered, so like after seeing something paranormal *once* he copies the entire world folder on a google disc, usb flash and simply an archive, just to fuck with entities if they try to lock him out of it
and same with recordings - always have obs, some other programm and deadass a phone camera recording the screen 24/7. try to fight that.
not to mention going full-throttle with opening the world to public via VPN and inviting your friends for some cheating shenanigans.

why is this so well acted. like he's so clearly so done with this shit, but it's because it DOES scare him. We see that in all the behaviors he develops. He has stone in his hotbar near the end, something he prioritized over food. He has it there so he can hide in his basement from the monsters after him.
